1. IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS Please follow these instru tions
THESE ARNINGS AND CAUTIONS ARE INTENDED TO PREVENT PROPERTY
DAMAGE OR PERSONAL INJURY TO YOU AND OTHERS.
Do not modify this water dispenser, only a repair technician may
disassemble or repair this unit.
Insert the power plug completely and securely into the electrical socket.
A loosely inserted power plug may ause fire, ele tri sho ks, short ir uit,
smoke or fire.
Use only an electrical outlet that is rated at 15 amperes minimum.
If you want to change the power cord, only use one which a similar rated
cord (250v, 13A).
If the blades of the plug are dirty, wipe them clean.
Debris on the blades of the plug an ause fire.
Do not allow children to use the water dispenser unsupervised. Keep it out
of reach of very young children.
Children are at risk of burns, ele tri sho ks or injury.
Do not use if the power cord or plug is damaged or if the power plug is
loosely inserted into the electrical socket. Doing so may ause ele tri
sho ks, short ir uit or fire.
Do not damage the power cord.
Do not bend, twist, bundle or attempt to modify the power cord. Do not
place the cord on or near high temperature surfaces or appliances, under
heavy items or between objects.

This appliance is intended for household use and small office only. Any
other use for commercial purposes will void the warranty.
Do not immerse the water dispenser in water.

Always unplug the water dispenser by holding the power plug, not by
pulling the power cord.
Insert the end of the power cord firmly into the electrical socket, otherwise
it may ause ele tri sho ks, fire and the water dispenser may not work.
Stop using immediately if you notice ANY of the following:
•The power plug or ord has be ome very hot.
•The power ord is damaged or the ele tri ity turns on/off when
tou hed
•The body of the water heater is deformed or unusually hot
•Smoke is oming from the water heater or there is a burning smell
•Any part of the water heater is ra ked, loose or unstable.

2. DISPENSER DESCRIPTION
Your Yum Asia Oyu Smart Instant Hot Water Dispenser allows you to enjoy fresh and safe hot or old
water instantly in your home or small offi e. With a large 4 litre apa ity you an enjoy the onvenien e
of drinks at just the right temperature whenever you want them and only heat up the amount of water
that you want to use, thereby saving money.
The Oyu Hot Water Dispenser has a high-flow me hanism, so you an fill up ups or other ontainers
more qui kly. It also produ es near-boiling temperatures for preparing offee, tea, soups or other
instant or hot meals with our steady stream feature to ensure less spluttering of hot water on your
worktop. The one-button ontrol is easy to use, and has an anti-s alding feature to prevent a idental
dispensing of hot water. It’s styling and ontemporary white appearan e mat h many homes or offi es.

3. DISPENSER OPERATION
3.1 BEFORE USE
1. Open the pa kaging, take out the dispenser arefully, and remove all pa kaging and
promotional material.
2. Take out all the a essories and the operating manual.
3. Remove any promotional sti kers. Wipe the dispenser ase with a damp loth.
4. Wash the water tank and lid in warm soapy water with a soft sponge. Dry it thoroughly.
5. Fill the tank and dispense on the highest temperature until the water tank is empty.

3.2 NAVIGATING THE CONTROLS
The display of Oyu is tou h sensitive and is easy to use with a bright state of the art ‘I e White’ Motou h
panel.
Volume
Sets the dispensing volume from a range of to 150 to 500ml in 50ml intervals
Ambient
The ambient temperature of the water in the ontainer. This temperature is displayed
as default when Oyu swit hes to standby
Setting
To programme your favourite temperature and dispensing volume. The default
temperature is 50°C
Hot
To dispense the maximum temperature (99°C)
Lock
To lo k and unlo k the dispenser display. On e pressed it stays unlo ked for 7 se onds
and then will lo k again. This is an anti-s alding me hanism. When lo ked it is lit red.
ater Drop
To dispense water press on e. You an also press this button while water is dispensing
to stop the dispense. When dispensing it flashes blue.

3.3 HOW TO DISPENSE WATER
Normal Operation
1. Press the lo k symbol (this has a red light when the water dispenser is lo ked).
2. Set the dispense volume. Press the volume button and adjust the volume to your preferred
amount by using + or – either side of the display (volume range is 150 to 500ml and moves in
50ml intervals).
3. Press ambient symbol (adjust to the temperature you want) or hot symbol depending on what
temperature of water you want.
4. Dispense water by pressing the water drop symbol.
Favourite Volume and Temperature Operation (Memory Setting)
1. Press the lo k symbol (this has a red light when the water dispenser is lo ked).
2. Press the volume symbol, adjust the volume to your preferred amount by using + or – either side
of the display (volume range is 150 to 500ml and moves in 50ml intervals).
3. Press the setting symbol and adjust the temperature by using + or – either side of the display
(default temperature is 50°C and moves in 5°C intervals).
4. Press the lo k symbol to set this to memory. When you unlo k the dispenser, it will remember
your setting and when you press the dispense button and it will dispense automati ally. To lear
this setting, press any other button after unlo king the unit and it will an el the stored setting.
NOTE: If at any time you want to stop the water dispensing, either press the water drop again or the lo k
symbol.
If Oyu hasn’t been used for 60 se onds, the display will ompletely turn off, apart from the red lo k
symbol. To turn on, press any part of the ontrol panel.
4. TEMPERATURE GUIDE FOR BEVERAGES
Your Oyu Smart Instant Hot Water Dispenser is ideal for all different uses, whether you want ambient
temperature water for drinking, boiling water for vegetables, noodles or a range of different
temperatures for the teas or offee you enjoy, then Oyu is definitely the produ t for you.
Here is a guide to the different temperatures for different types of beverages:
Black Teas like normal British tea, Darjeeling, Assam should be brewed at the maximum 99°C
Herbal Teas should be brewed at the maximum 99°C
Earl Grey should be brewed at 95°C
Oolong tea should be brewed at 90°C
Green Teas like Sencha and Matcha should be brewed at 80°C
hite tea should be brewed at 70°C
Gyokuro Green Tea should be brewed at 60°C
Coffee, when brewed with too hot water an burn and alter the taste of the offee, so maximum
temperature water should never be used. Ideally offee should be brewed at 91-96°C - the loser to
96°C the better. Some pre-pa kaged offee mixes (eg appu ino type sa hets) require a mu h lower
temperature of 80°C.
Baby Milk (formula powder) should be made using 70°C temperature water, as this will kill any
ba teria present in the formula powder. You an then leave the formula to ool or run under a old
tap to the orre t drinking temperature.

5. CLEANING AND DESCALING
To lean the outer body of Oyu, use a damp loth or sponge and wipe lean. Dry with kit hen paper or
another dry loth.
To ensure the safe and effi ient operation of your Oyu Smart Instant Hot Water Dispenser, it is ne essary
and important to des ale it regularly. If you live in a hard water area, it will need des aling more
regularly than normal ( he k with your water ompany what type of water area you live in).
If you do not des ale/ lean your Oyu, s ale deposits prevent the heating element from ondu ting the
heat effi iently and wastes ele tri ity. S ale will also ause your Oyu to malfun tion or fail. We advise
that in a normal water area you des ale every 2 months.
You an des ale in two ways – you an use a kettle leaner produ t or you an use vinegar or itri a id
powder.
Descaling using a kettle cleaner
1. Fill the water tank halfway (i.e. 2 litres) and pla e a measuring jug underneath the dispense
spout. Dispense 500ml of maximum temperature water into the jug.
2. Add the kettle leaning produ t to the hot water and stir until it’s dissolved.
3. Pour the ontents of the jug ba k into the water tank and put the lid on.
4. Pla e the measuring jug ba k under the dispense spout and dispense 500ml, dis ard the
water.
5. Keep dispensing and dis arding until the water tank is empty and the E2 error shows on the
display.
6. Fill with fresh water and repeat steps 4 and 5.
7. Rinse the water tank by filling with lean water and emptying, do this several times.
8. Fill with fresh water and repeat steps 4 and 5, on e at the minimum level, empty the
remaining water out and refill with fresh water.
Descale using vinegar or citric acid
1. You an use powdered itri a id or ordinary vinegar (malt or white) to des ale your Oyu.
2. Using vinegar, make up a solution of 1 up of vinegar to one up of hot water. Add this to the
water in the tank (as above, fill to 2 litre mark). If using itri a id, mix 30g of itri a id with
500ml of hot water. Add this to the water in the tank (as above, fill to 2 litre mark).
3. Allow to stand for 1 hour, then dispense the water as des ribed above in steps 4 and 5.
4. Dis ard any remaining water and rinse the water tank several times in lean water (until there
is no smell).

5.1 HOW TO DISASSEMBLE YOUR OYU
The lid, water tank and drip tray are all removable.
6. TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

Cause
E2 The water level in the tank is too low
The water tank is not atta hed to the dispenser
E5 Ambient temperature of the water is too low. If the ambient temperature of
the water drops below 1°C, the water dispenser will not work
E7 There has been a power failure, on e normal power is resumed, this error
ode should disappear
H1 Ambient water temperature dete tor is faulty
H2 The voltage sensor is faulty
H3
The temperature of the heating element is too high. When the temperature of
the heating element rises above 106°C, the water dispenser will not work.
Wait for the heating element to ool and the error ode will disappear
H4 The temperature of the heating element is too high. When the temperature of
the heating element rises above 120°C, the water dispenser will not work.
Wait for the heating element to ool and the error ode will disappear
H5
When the working voltage of the pump is 11V, it will prompt des aling. When
the water is stopped, the next water will be automati ally released. If the
working voltage returns to below 11V, the des aling will be automati ally
an elled.
