Voorwoord
Lees vóór gebruik dit document en de documentatie
van het ventilatiesysteem zorgvuldig door.
Gebruik dit document om de ComfoCool Q voor de
ComfoAir Q600, Comfort Vent Q600 en Aeris NEXT600
veilig te installeren en onderhouden. In dit document
wordt naar de ComfoCool Q verwezen als “het toestel”
en wordt naar de ComfoAir Q600, Comfort Vent Q600
en Aeris NEXT600 verwezen als “het ventilatietoestel”.
Dit apparaat wordt voortdurend verder ontwikkeld en
verbeterd. Hierdoor bestaat de mogelijkheid dat het
toestel enigszins afwijkt van de omschrijvingen.
In deze handleiding komen de volgende pictogrammen
voor:

Het belang van goede ventilatie
Schone lucht is erg belangrijk voor uw gezondheid. Wist
u bijvoorbeeld dat u 25 m3(25.000 liter) schone lucht per
uur nodig heeft? Bovendien moet de met CO2vervuilde
binnenlucht uit de woning worden afgevoerd. Goed
ventileren is dus belangrijk. Balansventilatie regelt dit
voor u op een comfortabele manier.
Ademhalen, koken, douchen en naar de wc gaan: alle
dagelijkse bezigheden binnenshuis produceren vocht en
vervuilde lucht. Om de lucht in de woning te verversen
en schoon en gezond te houden, moet daarom continu
goed worden geventileerd. Onvoldoende ventilatie
kan schimmelproblemen, bacteriegroei, vochtplekken
en ongewenste geurtjes veroorzaken. Maar dat is nog
niet alles. Wat dacht u van gezondheidsklachten als
allergieën, problemen met de luchtwegen en hoofdpijn?
Die hebben allemaal invloed op uw gezondheid,
concentratievermogen, functioneren en prestaties.
Goed ventileren is dus geen luxe, maar pure
noodzaak.
En omdat huizen steeds beter zijn geïsoleerd, is goed
ventileren alleen maar belangrijker geworden. Isoleren is
een goede zaak, het bespaart immers energie en is goed
voor het milieu. Helaas komt hierdoor wel minder verse
lucht in de woning. Een luchtdicht huis laat niet veel
verse lucht naar binnen. En vervuilde binnenlucht wordt
maar moeilijk afgevoerd. De woning ventileren of luchten
door ramen en deuren open te zetten is niet voldoende.
Het is dan ook geen toeval dat goede ventilatie verplicht
is in alle nieuwe huizen: het is geen luxe, maar een
voorwaarde voor een leefbaar binnenmilieu.

1 Veiligheidsinstructies
■Volg steeds de veiligheidsvoorschriften,
waarschuwingen, opmerkingen
en instructies uit deze handleiding
op. Het niet opvolgen van
veiligheidsvoorschriften,
waarschuwingen, opmerkingen en
instructies kan leiden tot persoonlijk
letsel of schade aan het toestel.
■Volg steeds de algemene en plaatselijk
geldende bouw-, veiligheids- en
installatievoorschriften van de
gemeente, het elektriciteits- en
waterleidingsbedrijf of andere instanties
op;
■Til het toestel nooit alleen. Het toestel is
zwaar en het plaatsen moet nauwkeurig
gebeuren;
■Plaatsing op een aan de wand
gemonteerd ventilatietoestel is om
veiligheidsredenen NIET toegestaan.
■Sluit altijd luchtkanalen van minimaal
900 mm aan op het toestel voordat
u het toestel aansluit op netstroom.
Hierdoor kunt u de koeltechnische skid
niet aanraken wanneer het toestel in
bedrijf is;
■Na de installatie bevinden alle
onderdelen die kunnen leiden tot
persoonlijk letsel zich veilig binnen de
behuizing. U kunt de behuizing alleen
met gereedschap openen;
■Installatie, inbedrijfstelling en onderhoud
moeten worden uitgevoerd door
een erkend installateur, tenzij anders
aangegeven. Door het inschakelen
van een niet-erkend installateur kan
persoonlijk letsel ontstaan of kunnen
de prestaties van het ventilatiesysteem
afnemen;
■Het is niet toegestaan het toestel of
de specificaties in de bijgeleverde
documenten aan te passen. Een
aanpassing kan persoonlijk letsel
veroorzaken of schade toebrengen
aan het functioneren van het
ventilatiesysteem.
■Schakel de stroom van het toestel
altijd uit voor u begint te werken aan
het toestel. Wanneer het toestel open
staat tijdens bedrijf, kan dit leiden
tot persoonlijk letsel. Zorg dat het
toestel niet per ongeluk kan worden
ingeschakeld;
■Neem bij het werken met elektronica
altijd beschermende maatregelen,
zoals het dragen van een antistatische
polsband. Statische elektriciteit kan
schade aanrichten aan de elektronica;
■Alleen een erkend koeltechnisch
installateur mag koeltechnische
handelingen uitvoeren aan de
koeltechnische skid;
■Het toestel bevat het koudemiddel
R134a. Dit is een niet brandbaar,
niet giftig koudemiddel.
Ga tijdens installatie- en
onderhoudswerkzaamheden voorzichtig
om met de koeltechnische skid, zodat
het koudemiddel niet ontsnapt. Iedereen
die zich bezighoudt met onderhoud,
reparaties of recycling van het product
dient te allen tijde beschermende
handschoenen en oogbescherming te
dragen;
■Bij het uitvoeren van las- of
soldeerwerkzaamheden in de buurt
van koudemiddelen moet altijd
ademhalingsapparatuur worden
gebruikt, voorzien van een filter. Het
filter biedt bescherming tegen eventuele
decompositieproducten;
■Mocht door een defect of beschadiging
toch koudemiddel ontsnappen:
- Zet minimaal een uur lang de ramen
en deuren open van de ruimte waar
het toestel staat;
- Het toestel bevat 0,5 kg (bij
kamertemperatuur circa 0,2 m3)
koudemiddel;
- Het koudemiddel is zwaarder dan
lucht en verspreidt zich over de vloer;
- Probeer het vrijgekomen gas nooit op
te vangen en adem het niet in;
- Als het gas in aanraking komt met
oog of huid, spoel dan minimaal 20
minuten met lauw water en neem
contact op met uw huisarts.

2 Installatievoorwaarden
■Het toestel moet worden geïnstalleerd in een
vorstvrije ruimte met klimaatzone zone N (16-32°C).
■Het ventilatietoestel moet op een onderstel worden
geplaatst (zie onder servicedelen) dat op een stabiele
vloer staat.
Plaatsing op een aan de wand
gemonteerd ventilatietoestel is om
veiligheidsredenen NIET toegestaan.
■
In de ruimte moet aanwezig zijn:
luchtkanaalconnectoren Ø180mm, elektrische
connector 230V met voldoende capaciteit en
voorzieningen voor condensafvoer.
■ De dakventilatoren moeten lucht- en dampdicht
worden afgewerkt.
■Alle toe- en afvoerkanalen moeten dampdicht worden
geïsoleerd. Dit om condensvorming aan de binnen-
of buitenzijde van de kanalen te voorkomen en de
efficiëntie van de koeling te verbeteren.
■
Eventueel condensaat in het luchtafvoerkanaal moet
afgevoerd kunnen worden in de richting van het
toestel.
■ Het condensaat moet vorstvrij, onder afschot en via
een sifon worden afgevoerd.
■ Sluit NOOIT een afzuigkap met motor op dit systeem
aan.
■ Wij adviseren het toestel te voorzien van
geluiddempers, zowel op de toevoer- als de
retourleiding. Neem voor meer informatie contact op
met Zehnder.
■De plaats van de installatie moet zodanig worden
gekozen dat rondom het toestel voldoende ruimte is
voor luchtconnectoren, toe- en afvoerleidingen en het
uitvoeren van installatiewerkzaamheden. Houdt vóór
het toestel een ruimte van minimaal 1 meter vrij. Houd
aan de kant van de condensafvoer minimaal 250mm
vrij.
■De hoogte moet minimaal 185cm zijn,
vermeerderd met de benodigde hoogte voor de
kanaalconnectoren.
3 Transport en uitpakken
Ga voorzichtig te werk bij het transporteren en uitpakken
van het toestel. Transporteer het toestel altijd rechtop.
Houd het toestel rechtop tijdens het uitpakken.
Zorg ervoor dat het verpakkingsmateriaal op een
milieuvriendelijke manier wordt afgevoerd.
Controle levering
Neem direct contact op met de leverancier als u
beschadigingen constateert of als de levering niet
compleet is. Behalve het toestel behoren tot de levering:
■2 adapterplaten uit hoogwaardig
polypropyleenschuim;
■4 rubberen afdichtringen;
■Voedingskabel;
■Datakabel voor gegevensuitwisseling met het
ventilatietoestel;
■Handleiding;
■Kunststof voorplaat;
■2 schroeven (torx 30) voor kunststof voorplaat;
Het ventilatietoestel wordt geleverd in een linker versie
(type L) en een rechter versie (type R). Controleer
of de aanduiding op het typeplaatje van het toestel
overeenkomt met de aanduiding in de software.
4 Installatie van de ComfoCool Q600
Het toestel moet bovenop het ventilatietoestel worden
gemonteerd. Het ventilatietoestel moet worden
geplaatst op een onderstel dat waterpas staat op een
stevige vloer. Hieronder worden de montagestappen
beschreven:
1. Zet het onderstel in elkaar volgens de meegeleverde
instructie. Plaats het vervolgens op de vloer en
stel het bovenvlak waterpas door middel van de
stelvoetjes.
2. Plaats het ventilatietoestel op het onderstel.
3. Verwijder de beschermingshoezen van het
ventilatietoestel.
4. Monteer de twee adapterplaten over de spie-
openingen van het ventilatietoestel. Controleer
of de metalen beugel naar de voorkant van het
ventilatietoestel wijst. Het adapterblok met een "L"
moet aan de linkerkant van het ventilatietoestel
worden geplaatst. Het adapterblok met een "R" moet
aan de rechterkant van het ventilatietoestel worden
geplaatst.
5. Plaats de vier rubber afdichtingringen over de spie-
openingen. Controleer of de ringen de spie en de
adapterplaten goed afdichten.
6. Sluit de datakabel aan op een vrije ComfoNet plug-in
connector op het ventilatietoestel.

7. Leg de kabel door de kabelgeleider van het
ventilatietoestel.

8. Plaats het toestel.
Opmerking: til het toestel nooit alleen.
Het toestel is zwaar en het plaatsen
moet nauwkeurig gebeuren;
De pootjes van het toestel moeten in de daarvoor
bedoelde uitsparingen van de adapterplaat vallen.
Let hierbij op dat de afdichtringen niet verschuiven.
9. Monteer de valbeveiliging stevig aan de muur. Zorg
ervoor dat er geen spanning op de valbeveiliging
staat, zodat deze geen trillingen overbrengt op de
muur.
10. Bevestig de kunststof voorplaat op het toestel.
Controleer of de bovenkant van de kunststof
voorplaat goed in de bovenkant van het toestel
valt voordat u de onderkant op de adapterplaten
vastschroeft.
11. Sluit de datakabel aan op een vrije ComfoNet plug-
in connector op het toestel.

12. Sluit de condensafvoer aan op de binnenriolering
via een sifon of via een waterslot van minimaal
10cm. Zorg ervoor dat de sifon of het waterslot
gevuld is met water. De condensafvoeren van het
ventilatietoestel en het toestel moeten altijd met
elkaar verbonden zijn met ieder een eigen sifon.
LINKER uitvoering RECHTER uitvoering
Installeer geen gewone droge sifon op het toestel.
De overdruk in het toestel duwt de droge sifon open
en veroorzaakt zo een luchtlek.
13. Verwijder de beschermingshoezen van het toestel
en sluit de luchtkanalen aan.
14. Voor de verdere installatie van het ventilatietoestel
wordt verwezen naar de desbetreffende handleiding.
15. Voor optimale prestaties van het toestel
adviseren wij om de drie verschillende intervallen
te programmeren volgens onderstaand voorbeeld.
(opmerking: de actuele starttijd kan willekeurig
worden gekozen)

16. Sluit het toestel en het ventilatietoestel aan op de
netstroom.
Om veiligheidsredenen zal het toestel 15 minuten
wachten voordat het de compressor voor het eerst
inschakelt.

6 Onderhoud
6.1 Periodiek onderhoud
Elke 4 jaar moeten de warmtewisselaars, de
condensbak en de condensafvoer worden gereinigd. Ga
hiervoor als volgt te werk:
1. Demonteer de kunststof voorplaat (A).
2. Demonteer het plaatstalen front (B).
3. Laat wat ruimte bij de voedingskabel en de
communicatiekabel en demonteer het spatscherm (C)
onder de verdamper.
4. Trek de koeltechnische skid (D) maximaal 25cm naar
voren.
5. Reinig de verdamper, condensor en condensbak
met een mild reinigingsmiddel. Let hierbij op dat
de lamellen van de verdamper en condensor niet
beschadigen. Als de lamellen wel verbuigen, is dit te
herstellen met een lamellenkam. Spoel de gereinigde
onderdelen af met water.

6.2 Storingen
In het menu van het ventilatietoestel zijn de volgende parameters gedefinieerd om de werking van het toestel te kunnen
beoordelen:
> MENU > STATUS > COMFOCOOL > TEMP. CONDENSATOR: Actuele temperatuur van de condensor. Criterium: 0˚C tot
58˚C.
> MENU > STATUS > COMFOCOOL > STATE: Actuele temperatuur van de toevoerlucht en ComfoCool Q600 modus.
Criterium: 8˚C tot 30˚C.
Verder kunt u onderstaande tabel raadplegen:

■Is het toestel aangemeld bij het ventilatietoestel? Controleer dit in het menu van het
ventilatietoestel. Na succesvolle aanmelding is het COMFOCOOL-menu zichtbaar in het STATUS-
menu. Controleer de kabel van de ComfoNet. Vervang de besturingsprint (PCB) van het toestel.
Vervang de besturingsprint van het ventilatietoestel.
■Mag het toestel inschakelen? In het TAAKMENU ziet u een COMFOCOOL-optie die u in kunt
stellen op OFF of AUTO. Zorg ervoor dat deze op AUTO is ingesteld.
■Zijn toe- en afvoerventilatoren ingeschakeld?
■Is het ventilatietoestel ingesteld op Afwezig? In dat geval zal het toestel niet inschakelen.
■Is het herfst of winter? Het toestel zal alleen inschakelen als het ventilatietoestel in de zomermodus
staat.
■Is het temperatuurprofiel voldoende laag ingesteld?
■Is de buitentemperatuur lager dan 12˚C?
■Geeft het display een status- of storingsmelding?
■Is de bypass van het ventilatietoestel open?
■Is de compressor net uitgeschakeld? Het toestel wacht veiligheidshalve 5 minuten voordat het de
compressor opnieuw inschakelt.
■Het toestel is voorzien van een controlesysteem op basis van de temperatuur van de retourlucht
vanuit het ventilatietoestel.

Controleer of er voldoende koudemiddel in het systeem aanwezig is. Controleer het koelcircuit op
lekkage. Vervang de koeltechnische skid.
Compressor aan Controleer of de toe- en afvoerkanalen geïsoleerd zijn. Controleer of de unit condens produceert.
Controleer of de condensor warm wordt en de verdamper koud. Vervang de koeltechnische skid.
Compressor uit;
Op het display van het
ventilatietoestel staat:
COMFOCOOL_HEAT ERROR
De condensor is oververhit. Er is onvoldoende lucht beschikbaar om de condensor te koelen.
Controleer instellingen van het ventilatietoestel. Reset de fout zodra de condensortemperatuur
voldoende is gedaald. Controleer na een paar minuten of het systeem opnieuw inschakelt.
Op het display van het
ventilatietoestel staat:
“CCOOL_TEMP ERROR”
Controleer of de temperatuursensor van de condensor correct is aangesloten. Meet de weerstand van
de sensor (circa 10 kOhm bij 25˚C). Vervang de sensor.
Controleer of de temperatuursensor voor de toevoerlucht correct is aangesloten. Meet de weerstand
van de sensor (circa 10 kOhm bij 25˚C). Vervang de sensor.
Op het display van het
ventilatietoestel staat: “TEMP_
SENSOR_SUP ERROR”
De sensor voor de toevoerlucht geeft geen signaal. Zie de handleiding van het ventilatietoestel voor
een oplossing van dit probleem.
Geen koeling Op het display van het
ventilatietoestel staat:
“CCOOL_CONNECT ERROR”
Het toestel geeft geen signaal aan het ventilatietoestel. Controleer de aansluitingen van de datakabels
tussen het toestel en het ventilatietoestel.
Op het display van het
ventilatietoestel staat: “FAN_
SUP ERROR”
De toevoerventilator is uitgeschakeld of geeft geen signaal. Zie de handleiding van het
ventilatietoestel voor een oplossing van dit probleem.
Op het display van het
ventilatietoestel staat: “FAN_
EHA ERROR”
De afvoerventilator is uitgeschakeld of geeft geen signaal. Zie de handleiding van het ventilatietoestel
voor een oplossing van dit probleem.
Onregelmatige
ventilatie
geen Controleer of de ventilatiestand voldoende hoog is gekozen. Controleer of het debiet juist is ingesteld.
Voor een goede werking is minimaal 200m3/h noodzakelijk. Wanneer een lager debiet is ingesteld, zal
de unit korte tijd het debiet verhogen om de condensortemperatuur op een veilig niveau te houden.

6.4 Einde levensduur
Op het moment dat u het toestel of de koeltechnische
skid afdankt, informeer dan bij uw gemeente naar de
mogelijkheden voor hergebruik of verwerking van het
toestel. Het toestel bevat koudemiddel R134a. Het is
belangrijk, dat dit koudemiddel milieuvriendelijk wordt
afgevoerd. De broeikasbijdrage van de hoeveelheid
koudemiddel in dit systeem is bij ondeskundige afvoer
ongeveer even groot als van 700kg CO2.

document refers to the ComfoCool Q as „the unit“
and the ComfoAir Q600, Comfort Vent Q600 and Aeris
NEXT600 as “the ventilation unit”. The unit is constantly
being developed and improved. There is therefore
a possibility that the unit differs slightly from the

The importance of good ventilation
Clean air in the home is very important for your health.
Did you now, for example, that you need 25 m3(25,000
litres) of clean, fresh air per hour? Furthermore, the CO2-
laden stale air must also be removed from the dwelling.
Good ventilation is therefore essential. Balanced
ventilation controls this for you in a comfortable way.

quickly start suffering from moulds, bacteria, dust mites,
damp spots and unwanted odours. But that is not all.

Good ventilation: not a luxury but a necessity
Good ventilation has only become more important
thanks to increasingly well-insulated homes. Insulation
is a good thing, as it saves energy and is good for the
environment. Unfortunately, though, it does reduce the
supply of fresh air in the home. After all, an airtight home
does not let much fresh air in. And stale air is then not
easily removed. Ventilating or airing by opening windows
and doors is inadequate. It is no accident that good
ventilation is mandatory in all new homes: it is not a
luxury but a condition of a liveable indoor climate.

1 Safety instructions
■Always obey the safety regulations,
warnings, comments and instructions
given in this document. When the safety
regulations, warnings, comments and
instructions in this document are not
obeyed personal injury or damage to the
unit can occur;
■Always obey the general and locally
applicable construction, safety and
installation instructions of the local
council, electricity and water boards or
other agencies;
■Never lift the unit alone. It is heavy and
must be mounted precisely;
■Fitting to a ventilation unit mounted
on a wall is NOT permitted for safety
reasons.
■Always connect air ducts of at least
900mm to the unit before you connect
the power to the unit. This ensures the
cooling skid cannot be touched while
the unit is active;
■After installation all parts that can cause
personal injury are secured behind the
casing. Tools are required to open the
casing;
■The installation, commissioning and
maintenance must be carried out by
a certified engineer unless instructed
differently. A non-certified engineer can
cause personal injury or damage the
performance of the ventilation system;
■Do not modify the unit or the
specifications given in its documents. A
modification can cause personal injury
or damage the performance of the
ventilation system;
■Always disconnect the power supply of
the unit before you start working on the
ventilation system. The unit can cause
personal injury when it is open while
running. Make sure the unit cannot
switch back on by accident;
■Always take ESD-inhibiting measures
when dealing with electronics, such as
wearing an antistatic wristband. The
electronics can be damaged by static
charges;
■Only a recognized cooling-technology
fitter is permitted to carry out work on
the cooling skid;
■The unit contains coolant R134a.
This is a non-flammable, non-toxic
coolant. Handle the cooling skid
with great care during installation
or maintenance activities to prevent
coolant from leaking. Anyone involved
in maintenance, repair or recycling of
the product should wear gloves and eye
protection at all times;
■When welding or soldering in the vicinity
of the coolant, always wear breathing
equipment fitted with a filter. The filter
should provide protection against
eventual decomposition products;
■If coolant leaks in anyway due to a
defect or damage, then:
- Open windows and doors in the room
in which the unit is located for at least
an hour;
- The unit contains 0.5kg (at room
temperature approx. 0.2m3) coolant;
- The coolant is heavier than air and will
concentrate on the floor;
- Never try to contain the escaped gas
and do not breath it in;
- In the event of skin or eye contact,
rinse for at least 20 minutes with
lukewarm water, and contact your
doctor.

2 Installation conditions
■The unit must be installed in a frost-free space with
climate zone N (16-32°C).
■The ventilation unit should be mounted on a support
frame (see under service parts), which should stand
on a stable floor.
Fitting to a ventilation unit mounted
on a wall is NOT permitted for safety
reasons.
■
The following must be available: Ø180mm air duct
connections, 230V electrical connection with sufficient
capacity, and facilities for condensation drainage.
■ The roof vents should be made airtight and damp-
proof.
■ All supply and exhaust ducts should be damp-
proofed. This prevents condensation forming on
the inner or outer duct surface and improves air
temperation efficiency.
■
The exhaust duct should drain in the direction of the
unit.
■ The condensation must be drained off frost-free, at a
gradient and incorporate a ‘U’ bend.
■ DO NOT connect a powered extractor hood to this
system.
■ We recommend fitting the unit with silencers right up
to the unit, on both the supply and return pipes. For
more information, please contact Zehnder.
■The installation location must be chosen so that
there is sufficient room around the unit for air duct
connections, intake and exhaust piping and in order
to carry out installation work. Keep at least 1 metre
free in front of the unit. At least 250mm should be
kept free at the side with the condensation drain.
■The height when mounted should be at least 185cm,
beyond the space required for the duct connection.
3 Transport and unpacking
Take care when transporting and unpacking the unit.
Only transport it in an upright position. Keep it upright
when unpacking it. Make sure the packing material is
disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner.
Checking delivery
Contact your supplier immediately in case of damage
or an incomplete delivery. Besides the unit, the delivery
should include:
■2x adaptor plates of high-grade polypropylene foam;
■4x rubber seal rings;
■Power cable;
■Data cable for data exchange with the ventilation unit;
■Manual;
■Plastic design front;
■2x screws (Torx 30) for plastic design front.
The unit is supplied as type L for left-handed version
of the ventilation unit and as type R for right-handed
version of the ventilation unit. Check that the designation
on the units identification plate corresponds with the
designation in the ventilation units software.

4 Installation of the ComfoCool Q600
The unit should be mounted on top of the ventilation
unit. The ventilation unit must be mounted on a support
frame that is level and stands on a suitably solid floor.
Each distinct assembly step is outlined below:
1. Assemble the support frame according to the
instructions supplied. Then place it on the floor and
ensure the upper surface is level using the adjustable
feet.
2. Place the ventilation unit on top of the support frame.
3. Remove the hygienic covers of the ventilation unit.
4. Place the two adapter plates over the spigot
openings of the ventilation unit. Check that the metal
bracket is pointing to the front of the ventilation unit.
The adapter block marked with an L must be placed
on the left side of the ventilation unit. The adapter
block marked with an R must be placed on the right
side of the ventilation unit.
5. Place the four rubber seal rings over the spigot
openings. Check that the seals are creating an
effective seal between the spigot and the adapter
plates.
6. Connect the data cable to a free ComfoNet plug-in
connection on the ventilation unit.

7. Lay the cable through the cable tray of the ventilation
unit.
8. Mount the unit.
Note: never lift the unit alone. It is
heavy and must be mounted precisely;
The units feet should fit in the recesses of the
adaptor plate. Make sure the seals do not dislodge
while doing this.
9. Fix the fall protection firmly to the wall. To prevent
vibrations being transmitted to the wall, ensure that
the fall protection is not under tension.
10. Mount the plastic design front on the unit. Check
that the top of the plastic design front falls in the top
of the unit before you screw the bottom side to the
adaptor plates.
11. Connect the data cable to a free ComfoNet plug-in
connection on the unit.

12. Connect the condensation drain to the domestic
waste-water system via a siphon or a water lock of
at least 10cm. Ensure the siphon or water lock is full
of water. The condensation drains of the ventilation
unit and the unit must always be connected with a
seperate siphon each.

Do not install a normal dry siphon on to the unit.
The overpressure in the unit will push the dry siphon
open and cause an airleak.
13. Remove the hygienic covers of the unit and
connect the air ducts.
14. Please refer to the ventilation unit manual for further
installation instructions for the ventilation unit.
15. For optimal performance of the unit it is advised
to program the three different intervals as shown
in example below. (note: the actual start time can
randomly be chosen)

16. Connect the main supply of the ventilation unit and
unit.
For safety reasons, the unit will pause for 15 minutes
before initially activating the compressor.

6 Maintenance
6.1 Periodic maintenance
The heat exchangers, condensation tray and
condensation drain should be cleaned once every 4
years. Proceed as follows:
1. Remove the plastic front (A)
2. Remove the sheet steel front (B)
3. Allow some room for the power cable and
communications cable, and remove the cover (C)
under the evaporator
4. Pull the cooling skid (D) no more than 25 cm
forwards.
5. Clean the evaporator, condenser and the condenser
tray with a mild cleaning agent. Take care not to
damage the evaporator and condenser fins. If the fins
are bent, they can be repaired with a fin-comb. Rinse
the cleaned components with water.

6.2 Malfunctions
The following parameters are defined in the ventilation units menu in order to assess the units performance:
> MENU > STATUS > COMFOCOOL > CONDENSER TEMP: Current temperature of condenser. Criterion: 0˚C to 58˚C.
> MENU > STATUS > COMFOCOOL > STATE: Current temperature of supply air and ComfoCool Q600 mode. Criterion 8˚C
to 30˚C.
Otherwise consult the table below:

■Is the unit registered with the ventilation unit? Check this in the ventilation units menu. If
registration has been completed successfully, then the menu COMFOCOOL is visible in the
STATUS menu. Check the ComfoNet cable. Replace the PCB of the unit. Replace the PCB of the
ventilation unit.
■Can the unit be activated? In the TASK MENU you will see an option COMFOCOOL that can be set
to either OFF or AUTO. Ensure that this menu is set to “AUTO”.
■Are the supply and exhaust fans activated?
■Is the ventilation unit ventilation set to Absent? Then the unit will not be activated.
■Is it autumn or winter? The unit only activates if the ventilation unit is in the summer mode.
■Is the temperature profile set low enough?
■Is the temperature outside below 12˚C?
■Does the display show a status or malfunction alert?
■Is the ventilation units bypass open?
■Has the compressor just been deactivated? For safety reasons, the unit waits five minutes before
reactivating the compressor.
■The unit is fitted with a control system based on the return temperature of the ventilation unit.
No voltage Check that the mains cable is properly connected to the unit. Check the fuse on the units PCB.
Replace the PCB.

Check whether the compressor switch on the PCB is working. Check the overpressure switch.

Check whether there is enough coolant in the system. Check the refrigerant circuit for leakages.
Replace the cooling skid.
Compressor on Check whether the supply and exhaust ducts are insulated. Check whether the unit produces
condensation. Check that the condenser gets hot and the evaporator cold. Replace the cooling skid.

Ventilation unit displays:
COMFOCOOL_HEAT ERROR
The condenser has overheated. There is insufficient air to cool the condenser. Check the ventilation
units settings. Reset the error after the temperature of the condenser has fallen adequately. Check
after a few minutes whether the system has reactivated.
Ventilation unit displays:
“CCOOL_TEMP ERROR”
Check the condenser temperature sensor is properly connected. Measure the resistance of the
sensor (approx. 10 kOhm at 25˚C). Replace the sensor.
Check the supply temperature sensor is properly connected. Measure the resistance of the sensor
(approx. 10 kOhm at 25˚C). Replace the sensor.
Ventilation unit displays:
“TEMP_SENSOR_SUP
ERROR”
The ventilation units supply air sensor does not emit a signal. Please refer to the ventilation unit
manual for a solution to this problem.
No cooling Ventilation unit displays:
“CCOOL_CONNECT ERROR”
The unit is not sending a signal to the ventilation unit. Check the data cable connections between the
unit and the ventilation unit.
Ventilation unit displays:
“FAN_SUP ERROR”
The supply fan is deactivated or fails to give a signal. Please refer to the ventilation unit manual for a
solution to this problem.
Ventilation unit displays:
“FAN_EHA ERROR”
The exhaust fan is deactivated or fails to give a signal. Please refer to the ventilation unit manual for a
solution to this problem.
Irregular
ventilation
none Check whether the ventilation level is high enough. Check that the flow rate is set-up properly. At
least 200m3/h is required for effective operation. If the flow rate is set up too low, then the unit will
increase it briefly to keep the condenser temperature at a safe level.

6.4 Product end of life
When scrapping the unit or the cooling skid, contact
your local authority to enquire what the possibilities are
for recycling or processing. The unit contains coolant
R134a. It is essential that the coolant is disposed of in
an environmentally friendly manner. If not disposed of
properly, the contribution to greenhouse gas emissions of
the volume of coolant in this system equals 700kg CO2.

Der Stellenwert einer guten Belüftung
Saubere Luft im Wohnbereich ist sehr wichtig für Ihre
Gesundheit. Wussten Sie beispielsweise, dass Sie 25
m3(25.000 Liter) saubere Luft pro Stunde benötigen?
Außerdem muss verbrauchte Luft mit hohem CO2-
Gehalt aus dem Wohnbereich entfernt werden. Eine
gute Belüftung ist also absolut unverzichtbar. Eine
ausgewogene Lüftung steuert das komfortabel für Sie.
Atmen, Kochen, Duschen und Toilettengänge: Alle
Aktivitäten in Innenräumen generieren Luftfeuchtigkeit
und einem erhöhten Anteil verbrauchter Luft. Um die
Luftqualität in den Wohnräumen zu verbessern – und
die Luft gesund und angenehm zu halten – muss eine
durchgängige, angemessene Belüftung sichergestellt
sein. Ansonsten würden wir schnell unter Schimmel,
Bakterien, Staubmilben, Feuchtigkeitsflecken und
unangenehmen Gerüchen zu leiden beginnen. Aber das
ist nicht alles. Denken Sie an Gesundheitsaspekte wie
Allergien, Atemschwierigkeiten und Kopfschmerzen. Alle
Probleme mit Einfluss auf Ihren Gesundheitszustand,
Ihre Konzentrations- und Funktionsfähigkeit und Ihre
Leistung.
Gute Belüftung: Kein Luxus sondern absolut
unverzichtbar
Mit der immer besseren Isolierung von Häusern ist
eine gute Belüftung sogar noch wichtiger geworden.
Isolierung ist etwas gutes. Sie spart Energie und ist
gut für die Umwelt. Leider schränkt sie aber auch
die Versorgung von Wohnräumen mit frischer Luft
ein. Ein luftdicht abgedichtetes Haus lässt natürlich
nicht viel frische Luft hinein. Und verbrauchte Luft
kann nicht so gut abgeführt werden. Ventilieren oder
Lüften durch Öffnen von Fenstern und Türen ist nicht
ausreichend. Es ist kein Zufall, dass eine gute Belüftung
für neue Wohnhäuser vorgeschrieben ist: Sie ist kein
Luxus sondern eine Voraussetzung für ein gesundes
Wohnklima.
