Particular attention must be paid to the following warnings:
DANGER
Risk of electric shock
−The power plug is equipped with an protective earth conductor, therefore, it has to be
used with an appropriately equipped socket.
−The protective capacity must not be rendered ineffective by the use of extension cables
with no earth conductor.
−In case of error there is a risk of contact with life-threatening mains voltage.
DANGER
Risk of damage to the device from penetrating moisture
−
Devices with a mains connection and their accessories (particularly external table power
pack) must not come into contact with moisture or liquids.
−If the housing of devices or accessories that conduct mains voltage (e.g. table power pack)
is damaged, these must be permanently taken out of service and disconnected from the
mains.
−Non-compliance in both cases results in exposure to life-threatening mains voltage.
WARNING
Risk of electric shock
−Always switch off the device and pull out the power plug before cleaning or opening the
device.
−Disconnect the power plug before changing device fuses. Failure to do so may result in
contact with life-threatening mains voltage.
CAUTION
Risk of electric shock, overheating of the power cable, in worst case, fire
Where there are detachable power cables, please note the following:
−Detachable power supply cables must not be replaced with power supply cables that do
not meet the specifications.
−Use only the specified power cables to avoid these becoming severely overheated.

CAUTION
Risk of ineffective safety measures
−
If it is determined that protective measures are no longer effective, the device must be
taken out of service and secured against inadvertent operation, to avoid the risk of injury.
−Contact ZEISS Service to have the device repaired.
CAUTION
Risk of fire from heat accumulation
−Always check the device is switched off before covering it with a dust cover.
−Clogging or covering of ventilation slats is also prohibited.
−Failure to comply with these two instructions can lead to an accumulation of heat, which
can damage the device and, in the worst-case scenario, cause a fire.
CAUTION
Risk of damage to the device due to incorrect or improvised fuses
−When changing the device fuses, only fuses specified in the technical data may be used.
−The use of other fuses and short-circuiting the fuse box are prohibited, to avoid the risk of
overheating, smoke formation or fire in the device.
NOTICE
Environmental damage due to improper disposal
−Do not dispose of defective equipment in regular domestic waste. It should be disposed of
in accordance with the prevailing national legal requirements. The manufacturer of the
device is under the legal obligation to take defective devices back.
−
Sample waste should be disposed of in accordance with the prevailing national legal
requirements.

4NOTES ON WARRANTY
The manufacturer guarantees that the instrument is free of material or manufacturing defects upon
delivery. Any defects must be reported immediately and steps taken to minimize damage. If such a defect
is reported, the instrument manufacturer shall be obliged to correct the fault, either by repairing the
instrument or replacing it with a new one, at the manufacturer's discretion. No warranty is given for
defects caused by natural wear and tear (particularly of wearing parts) and improper use of the
instrument.
The instrument manufacturer shall not be liable for damage caused by misuse, negligence or any other
tampering with the instrument, particularly the removal or replacement of instrument components, or
the use of accessories from other manufacturers. Such actions shall invalidate any warranty claims.
With the exception of the work described in this quick reference guide, no maintenance or repair work is
to be carried out on the Power Supply 12V 100W. Repairs may only be performed by ZEISS Service or
individuals specially authorized by ZEISS Service. In the event of a problem with the instrument, please
contact your local ZEISS representative.

•Attach the illumination systems (e.g. 2 halogen
lamps HAL 100, Fig. 2/9and 11) to the
transmitted light (Fig. 2/3) and reflected light
mount (Fig. 2/2), respectively, of the microscope
and fix them using the corresponding clamping
screw (Fig. 2/1and 10).
•Connect the three-pole lamp plugs (Fig. 2/7and
8) of the two lamps to the rear of the Power
Supply (Fig. 2/6): transmitted light illuminator to
the lower socket TL, reflected light illuminator
to the upper socket RL.
•If the microscope is provided with a remote
control connection socket (e.g. Axio Scope.A1
or Axio Examiner), connect the microscope
stand with the Power Supply (Remote
connection socket) using the control cable
(Fig. 2/5) for brightness regulation.

•Turn the Power Supply on by using the ON/OFF
switch (Fig. 3/1).
•Switch on the microscope (see separate
operating manual).
11 HOW TO GET TO THE FIRST PICTURE
•Turn the desired illumination system alternatively on/off using the reflected/transmitted light selector
switch (Fig. 3/4), RL position (reflected light) and TL (transmitted light), respectively.
•Adjust the illumination intensity of the switched-on lamp by turning the dimmer knob (Fig. 3/2) of the
Power Supply.
Switching over between the illumination systems has no effect on the adjusted lamp brightness.
Therefore, the brightness must be readjusted after every switchover, if necessary.
•If the microscope is connected to the Power Supply unit by means of the control cable (Fig. 2/5), the
dimmer of the Power Supply is inactive and the pilot lamp for remote control operation (Extern) is
lighting. In this case, the illumination intensity of the switched-on lamp is adjusted using the dimmer
of the microscope (e.g. adjusting wheel (Fig. 2/4) on the Axio Scope.A1).

Nachstehende Hinweise sind besonders zu beachten:
GEFAHR
Gefahr durch elektrischen Stromschlag
−Der Netzstecker des Gerätes ist mit einem Schutzleiterkontakt ausgeführt, deshalb darf
dieser nur in eine Steckdose mit Schutzkontakt eingeführt werden.
−Die Schutzwirkung darf nicht durch ein Verlängerungskabel ohne Schutzleiter außer Kraft
gesetzt werden.
−Im Fehlerfall kann lebensgefährliche Netzspannung berührt werden.
GEFAHR
Gefahr der Beschädigung des Gerätes durch eindringende Feuchtigkeit
−
Geräte mit Netzverbindung und deren Zubehör (insbesondere externe Tischnetzteile)
dürfen nicht mit Feuchtigkeit und Flüssigkeiten in Berührung kommen.
−Ist das Gehäuse von Netzspannungsführenden Geräten oder Zubehör (z. B. Tischnetzteil)
beschädigt, sind diese dauerhaft außer Betrieb zu nehmen und von der Netzspannung zu
trennen.
−
Bei Nichtbeachtung kann in beiden Fällen lebensgefährliche Netzspannung berührt
werden.
WARNUNG
Gefahr durch elektrischen Stromschlag

Vor Reinigung oder Öffnen des Gerätes ist dieses auszuschalten und der Netzstecker zu
ziehen.
−Vor dem Wechseln von Gerätesicherungen muss der Netzstecker gezogen werden! Bei
Nichtbeachtung kann lebensgefährliche Netzspannung berührt werden.
VORSICHT
Gefahr durch elektrischer Schlag, Überhitzung des Netzkabels, Extremfall Brand
Wenn abnehmbare Netzkabel vorhanden sind, dann ist folgendes zu beachten:

Abnehmbare Netzkabel dürfen nicht durch unzulänglich bemessene Netzkabel ersetzt
werden.
−
Es dürfen nur die vorgeschriebenen Netzkabel verwendet werden, weil diese sich sonst
stark erwärmen können.

VORSICHT
Gefahr durch unwirksame Schutzmaßnahmen

Wird festgestellt, dass Schutzmaßnahmen nicht mehr wirken, so ist das Gerät außer
Betrieb zu setzen und gegen unbeabsichtigte Benutzung zu sichern, damit keine
Verletzungsgefährdung eintritt.
−Zur Instandsetzung des Gerätes ist Verbindung mit dem ZEISS-Service aufzunehmen.
VORSICHT
Brandgefahr durch Wärmestau
−
Vor Abdecken des Gerätes mit einer Staubschutzhülle muss immer geprüft werden, ob
dieses ausgeschaltet ist.
−Auch das Zusetzen oder Abdecken von Lüftungsschlitzen ist verboten.
−Werden beide Hinweise nicht eingehalten, dann kann es zu einem Wärmestau führen, der
das Gerät beschädigt und im Extremfall einen Brand auslösen kann.
VORSICHT
Gefahr der Beschädigung des Gerätes durch falsche oder behelfsmäßige Sicherungen
−
Beim Wechseln von Gerätesicherungen dürfen nur Sicherungen gemäß den technischen
Daten verwendet werden.
−
Das Verwenden von anderen Sicherungen sowie das Kurzschließen der Sicherungshalter
sind verboten, weil es sonst zur Überhitzung, Qualmentwicklung oder
Brand im Gerät
kommen kann.
HINWEIS
Umweltschädigung durch unsachgemäße Entsorgung

Defekte Geräte gehören nicht in den Hausmüll. Sie sind entsprechend den nationalen
gesetzlichen Bestimmungen zu entsorgen. Der Gerätehersteller ist gesetzlich zur
Rücknahme von defekten Geräten verpflichtet.
−Probenabfall ist entsprechend den nationalen gesetzlichen Bestimmungen zu entsorgen.

Der Gerätehersteller leistet Garantie dafür, dass das Gerät bei Übergabe frei von Material- und
Fertigungsfehlern ist. Aufgetretene Mängel sind unverzüglich anzuzeigen und es ist alles zu tun, um den
Schaden gering zu halten. Wird ein solcher Mangel gemeldet, so ist der Gerätehersteller verpflichtet, den
Mangel nach seiner Wahl durch Reparatur oder Lieferung eines mangelfreien Gerätes zu beheben. Für
Mängel infolge natürlicher Abnutzung (insbesondere bei Verschleißteilen) sowie unsachgemäßer
Behandlung wird keine Gewähr geleistet.
Der Gerätehersteller haftet nicht für Schäden, die durch Fehlbedienung, Fahrlässigkeit oder sonstige Ein-
griffe am Gerät entstehen, insbesondere durch das Entfernen oder Auswechseln von Geräteteilen oder
das Verwenden von Zubehör anderer Hersteller. Hierdurch erlöschen sämtliche Garantieansprüche.
Mit Ausnahme der in dieser Kurz-Gebrauchsweisung aufgeführten Tätigkeiten dürfen keine Wartungs-
oder Reparaturarbeiten an Power Supply 12V 100W ausgeführt werden. Reparaturen sind nur dem ZEISS-
Kundendienst oder durch diesen speziell autorisierten Personen gestattet. Sollten Störungen am Gerät
auftreten, bitte zuerst an die für Sie zuständige ZEISS-Vertretung wenden.

jeweiligen Klemmschraube (Bild 2/1bzw. 10)

jeweiligen Leuchte an der Rückseite des Power
Supply (Bild 2/6) anschließen: Durchlichtleuchte
an die untere Buchse TL, Auflichtleuchte an die

•Sofern das Mikroskop über eine Anschluss-
buchse für Fernsteuerung verfügt (z. B.:
Axio Scope.A1 oder Axio Examiner), Mikroskop-
stativ und Power Supply (Anschlussbuchse
Remote) mit Steuerkabel (Bild 2/5) für die
Helligkeitsregelung anschließen.

11 WIE KOMMT MAN ZUM ERSTEN BILD
•Gewünschte Beleuchtungseinrichtung mit Umschalter Auflicht/Durchlicht (Bild 3/4) wechselweise ein-
bzw. ausschalten, Position RL (Auflicht) bzw. TL (Durchlicht).
•Beleuchtungsintensität der eingeschalteten Leuchte am Helligkeitsregler (Bild 3/2) des Power Supply
einstellen.
Das Umschalten zwischen den Beleuchtungseinheiten beeinflusst nicht die eingestellte Lampenhelligkeit,
deshalb muss diese nach jedem Umschalten bei Bedarf nachgeregelt werden.
•Falls das Mikroskop über Steuerkabel (Bild 2/5) mit dem Power Supply verbunden ist, ist der
Helligkeitsregler am Power Supply inaktiv und die Kontrollleuchte für Fernsteuerbetrieb (Extern)
leuchtet. In diesem Fall wird die Beleuchtungsintensität der eingeschaltete Leuchte am Helligkeitsregler
des Mikroskops eingestellt (z. B.: Drehrad (Bild 2/4) am Axio Scope.A1).

Les consignes suivantes doivent tout particulièrement être respectées :

Danger d'électrocution

Si la fiche d'alimentation de l’appareil est exécutée avec un contact de mise à la terre, elle
doit uniquement être enfichée dans une prise disposant d’un conducteur de protection.
−Il est interdit de désactiver l’effet de protection par une rallonge sans
conducteur de
protection.
−En cas d’anomalie, le risque d’une tension dangereuse voire mortelle apparaît.
DANGER
Risque d’endommagement de l'appareil dû à la pénétration d’humidité
−
Les appareils avec une connexion réseau et leurs accessoires (en particulier, les blocs
d’alimentation de platine externes) ne doivent pas être en contact avec l’humidité ou des
liquides.
−Si le boîtier est endommagé par des appareils conducteurs ou accessoires de tension (par
ex. bloc d’alimentation de platine), ceux-
ci doivent être mis hors service de façon
permanente et séparés de la tension réseau.
−Si ceci n'est pas respecté, le risque d’une tension dangereuse voire mortelle peut apparaître
dans les deux cas.

−Avant le nettoyage ou l’ouverture de l’appareil, celui-
ci doit être éteint et la fiche
d’alimentation débranchée.
−La fiche d’alimentation doit avoir été débranchée avant de remplacer les fusibles ! Si ceci
n'est pas respecté, le risque d’une tension dangereuse voire mortelle apparaît.

Si des câbles d'alimentation amovibles sont disponibles, les points
suivants doivent être
respectés :

Les câbles d'alimentation amovibles ne doivent pas être remplacés par des câbles
d'alimentation aux dimensions inadaptées.
−Ceux-
ci risqueraient de trop chauffer et par conséquent, seuls les câbles d’alimentation
prescrits peuvent être utilisés.
