Press the STRM (=Stream) button to start streaming
Audio signal: single beep
Press the STRM button to add a TAG in the video file while
streaming
Audio signal:
1. Recording mode: Single beep
2. Streaming video mode: Double beep
Use the STOP button to stop streaming and save your video file
Audio signal: single long beep
Use the connector to connect the Live module on the backside to
the Zepcam recorder

The REC/TAG button has several functions:
• Start recording / Start streaming
• Insert a TAG
• Press and hold the REC/TAG button for a few seconds to
stop recording

The remote control is standard paired with the Zepcam.
Pair the remote in: SETTINGS >ADVANCED SETTINGS >REMOTE
CONTROL >PAIRING >YES.

SWITCH THE ZEPCAM ON / OFF
Press and hold the SELECT button for a few seconds until a white Zepcam screen
appears. Select EXIT in the MAIN MENU to switch off the Zepcam
Before you can use the Zepcam, you have to log in
.
(See page 2 for button functions).
• The Zepcam has 3 user levels with different authorisation and different user-rights
The passwords are provided separately
• Check the online Zepcam T1 + T1-Live manual how to change the login-codes
With this menu the position of the camera can be checked. If necessary the position of
the camera can be changed without recording.
There are two ways to start the CAMERA MENU:
• Select the option CAMERA in the MAIN MENU
• Press the LARGE BUTTON

• When recording stops, automatically the MOVIES MENU appears
This menu shows a list with all the video files on the Zepcam
• Use the SELECT button to select and play a video file
• Select the MOVIES MENU in the MAIN MENU
• With the STAR FUNCTION a video can be marked as important to selective save video’s while
deleting recordings. (Doesn’t works with formatting the sd card)

HOW TO USE THE ZEPCAM - GENERAL
• Connect the Zepcam to a PC or Mac using the USB cable
• Go from the MAIN MENU to SETTINGS and ADMINISTRATOR SETTINGS
• Select the option ATTACH TO PC, the Zepcam recorder will show the message ‘Close USB in
interface’.
Keep this message open until you are finished on the PC and close the connection afterwards
• The Zepcam is now connected to the PC
On the PC, at my computer or computer the Zepcam will appear as removable disk
• Open the MOVIES folder, you can now copy the video files to your PC
• To charge the battery use the Zepcam USB charger
• Connect the USB charger to the USB connection below the rubber cover of the Zepcam recorder
• Charger indicator LED status: Blue LED flashing: Battery is charging
Blue LED continuously on: Battery is fully charged
• For fastest charging results make sure the Zepcam is switched off
The Zepcam supports different types of cameras. The Zepcam Compact Camera is selected as default.
Within the menu SETTINGS >ADVANCED >CAMERA TYPE a different type can be selected.

This function will only work when logged in as Super User or Administrator on the Zepcam.

Charging time depends on the type of Zepcam recorder:

While recording you can insert a TAG. With a TAG you can mark important moments in a recording and it
makes it easier to trace back these moments in the video file.
• While recording press the LARGE button
• While recording you shortly press the REC/TAG button on the remote control
(The orange led will flash)
• While streaming press the STRM button on the Live module
If you have a live module and depending on what type, you can select different profile types at PROFILE
in the main menu. The selection of a certain profile determines whether a recording is only saved on a
sd card or also live streamed at the same time.
• 3G/4G: Footage is streamed live with 3G/4G and saved on the sd card*
• Wi-Fi: Footage is streamed live with Wi-Fi and saved on the sd card*
• Wi-Fi Ad-Hoc: Recorded images can be played back wirelessly in the highest quality on tablets
• REC only: Images are saved in the highest quality on the SD card
*
Attention; the quality of the stream will be saved in the same quality on the SD card.
START RECORDING
• Use the LARGE BUTTON or select CAMERA in the MAIN MENU
• Press RECORD while in the CAMERA menu, or
• Press the REC/ TAG button on the remote control
During recording the LED lights on the recorder and remote control flash red (orange when streaming).
• Keep the video button in the bottom right pressed to watch images during recording
INSERT TAG
• Select STOP in the CAMERA menu
• Press the REC/TAG button on the remote control until the GREEN LED is flashing

Before you can start video streaming you need to set up a wireless network connection.
This can be done using 3G/4G or Wi-Fi.
SETTING UP WI-FI STREAMING
The first step is to manually connect the Zepcam to a Wi-Fi network. The next steps can be executed on
the Zepcam.
(See page 2 and 3 for connecting the Wi-Fi module).
First time Wi-Fi setup: setting up a connection
• Choose SETTINGS >STREAMING SETTINGS >Wi-Fi >NETWORK
• Choose an empty slot to setup a Wi-Fi connection
• Select NEW NETWORK and select an available network
• Enter the network password and select SAVE
• The network will be added
• The Zepcam can now connect to the Wi-Fi network
You can stream when the word LINK appears next to the Wi-Fi icon
• Connect the Zepcam with the Wi-Fi network (STREAMING SETTINGS>Wi-Fi: ON)
• Find the Zepcam IP address (STREAMING SETTINGS >WI-FI >DETAILS >WIRELESS IP ADDRESS)
• Open the browser on the computer (connected to the same Wi-Fi network) en typ the IP address in
the browser
• In the browser (for example Chrome) go to settings:
APN settings
(if your subscription has an own accespoint for data traffic, optional)

• Use the APN settings supplied by your telecom provider, or find them on the internet
Wi-Fi Settings:
• Enter the correct Wi-Fi details (name, password, security level) and select UPDATE Wi-Fi
• The Wi-Fi settings are now added to the Zepcam

To set up 3G/4G streaming a SIMcard with data subscription is needed.
• Make sure the SIM card is UNLOCKED. You can do this at SETTINGS >STREAMING SETTINGS
>3G/4G >SETTINGS >remove PIN code from SIM card
• Make sure the Zepcam Live module is NOT connected to the Zepcam recorder
• Open the live module by using a screwdriver
• Place your SIM card in the SIM card reader and close the live module by using the screws
• Insert the connector of the live module in the back of the Zepcam recorder
• Switch on the recorder, login with your personal ID and go to SETTINGS >STREAMING SETTINGS
>3G/4G >SETTINGS
• Now select PROVIDER (the Zepcam will search for mobile provider, this may take a few minutes) and
choose your provider with the right subscription
• Wait until you see the 3G/4G icon on the top of the recorder screen, which indicates you have a
connection. If the word LINK appears, streaming is possible

Make sure you have a SIM card with a sufficient data plan
(For example: 1 hour streaming in the highest quality is 600 mb data).

Use the PROFILES in the MAIN MENU to switch between REC ONLY, WI-FI, 3G/4G, AD-HOC.
There are multiple ways to start and stop video streams:
• Press the STRM button on the live module. Press STOP to stop steaming
• Press the REC/TAG button on your remote Control, press a few seconds to stop steaming
• Select RECORD in the MAIN MENU. Select STOP to stop streaming
• In the MAIN MENU go to CAMERA and start recording
For live streaming the Zepcam needs to be setup properly.
For more information see Setting up Wi-Fi (p7) and 3G/4G (p8).
The Zepcam does not automatically switch between 3G/4G and Wi-Fi.
This needs to be done manually
• In the MAIN MENU select PROFILE
• Select the preferred connection (if no connection is visible, check live module)
• It may take a minute before the connection to the new network is made
(‘LINK’ appears in display)

Zepcam videos are streamed with 3G/4G or Wi-Fi to the Zepcam Video Server. From this server images
are being forwarded to a computer connected with the internet or when set, to an emergency room. To
watch the live video you need to log in on your personal page. You can find this on www.zepcam.com
LOGIN TO THE PERSONAL ZEPCAM PAGE
• At zepcam.com you will find the link to your personal page
• On your personal page you can log in with your Username and Password
(supplied with the Zepcam recorder)

• Open Google Chrome and inserts1.zepcam.com(if you are a Zepcam cloud service user) or insert
the IP address / url if you have an own Zepcam server.
• Go to the header cameras and select add device
• Give your device a name (as which it will be visible)
• Write down the pairing code or leave this page open
• Login as administrator on the Zepcam recorder and go to
SETTINGS >STREAMING SETTINGS >ENTER PAIRING CODE
• Enter the pairing code and the pairing is finished

HOW TO USE THE ZEPCAM LIVE - VIEWING LIVE STREAMING VIDEOS OVER 3G/4G/WI-FI
Top left there are two tabs with Live View and Archive. You will get an overview of all saved videos if you click
on Archive.
• Over here you can search saved videos by device name, user ID, start date and stop date
• You can playback saved videos by clicking on the thumbnail or the camera icon on the right
• To delete a saved video you need to click on the little cross at the right next to the camera icon

• On the left side you will see a of row cameras, the name of the camera is standard the serial number
• The color on the left shows the status of the camera: green = streaming, orange = stand-by, red = offline
• Drag a camera to the open screen to watch the stream, you can also click on the ‘eye’ icon or on one of
the thumbnails
• You can change the viewing window by clicking on one of the other icons at the right
• GPS is activated by clicking on the globe icon on the right
• Note: at this moment the browser Chrome gives the best results

CONNECTING
Make sure the live module or Wi-Fi stick is connected to the Zepcam
• Switch on the Zepcam and log in
• Activate Wi-Fi Adhoc on the Zepcam. Select in the MAIN MENU PROFILE >WIFI AD-HOC
When using multiple Adhoc connections, the multiple Zepcam-id can be assigned. This can be
done in the same menu as the Adhoc connections
• Switch on the Wi-Fi connection in the SETTINGS menu >SETTINGS >STREAMING ISETTINGS >
WI-FI >ON
• On the tablet or laptop go to SETTINGS >NETWORK >WI-FI > Select the network with the name
Zepcam, can be found at devices.
(In case of other Zepcam-id, networkname is Zepcam-id’)
IMPORTANT NOTE! Not all laptops and tablets support Adhoc Wi-Fi connections.
VIEWING VIDEOS
• After connecting the tablet or laptop to the Zepcam, the Zepcam can be used to log in
• Use the Zepcam IP address to log in on your tablet or laptop web browser
Standard IP address is: 10.150.160.1
• To find the IP address on the Zepcam recorder, go to
• SETTINGS >INFORMATION >WIFI INFORMATION
or
SETTINGS
>STREAMING
SETTINGS
>WI-FI> DETAILS >WIRELESS IP ADDRESS
• Now you will enter the Zepcam page. At this page you can playback videos or change settings
