1.0 INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing the Zero-X ZXM-AC2 action camera. Please read
through the User Manual before attempting to use the ZXM-AC2.

CAUTION:
Before using your action camera please ensure you read and understand the
following safety precautions.

• Do not use the ZXM-AC2 in water unless it is enclosed in its waterproof case.
• Do not use the ZXM-AC2 with the waterproof case in water deeper than
30m.
• Always check the waterproof case seal is clean and free of debris before it is
used in water.
• Do not attempt to open the ZXM-AC2 camera or modify it. If the ZXM-AC2
has been tampered with the warranty will be void. Maintenance and repairs
should only be performed by Zero-X customer service representatives.
Please see the warranty at the end of this manual for more information.
• Do not handle or charge the ZXM-AC2 with wet hands unless it is enclosed
in its waterproof case. This will help avoid damage to your camera.
• Only recharge the ZXM-AC2 battery using the supplied USB cable.
• Do not use the ZXM-AC2 in temperatures that exceed 55°C.
• Do not drop, crush, pierce, bend, deform, microwave, incinerate or shoot the
ZXM-AC2.
BATTERY WARNING
Always charge the ZXM-AC2 using the provided USB Cable. If the ZXM-AC2
is not charged as directed in this manual, the battery may become damaged
and fail.

• Never dismantle the ZXM-AC2 or expose the internal battery cell.
• Do not dispose of the ZXM-AC2 in fire.
• Please dispose of the ZXM-AC2 mindfully and observe local regulations,
especially in regards to the safe disposal of the internal battery. Check your
local recycling facility for more information.
• Do not attempt to expose the internal battery cell.
• Only use a certified 5V 1A USB charger to charge the ZXM-AC2. Using non
certified chargers could potentially damage the ZXM-AC2, or the ZXM-AC2
battery and void the warranty.
• Do not let the battery charge overnight.
• If the ZXM-AC2 seems to still need charging after three hours, temporarily
remove it from its charger as the battery may overheat. Let it cool down for
30 minutes and try charging again.
5.1 CHARGING THE BATTERY
We recommend that you fully charge your ZXM-AC2 before use. A full
charge will take approximately 2.5 hours using a 5V 1A Charger.
The LED light on the back of the ZXM-AC2 indicates the status of the
Unit’s charging cycle. It will flash RED while charging. When the ZXM-
AC2 is fully charged the LED light will stay RED.

5.2 MICRO SD CARD COMPATIBILITY
The ZXM-AC2 requires a Micro SD Card (not included) to save
recorded files. We recommend purchasing a maximum 64GB, Class 10
or higher Micro SD Card from a well known brand.
NOTE: The Micro SD Card should easily slide into your ZXM-AC2. Do not
force the Micro SD Card into the slot, as it may damage the Unit and
the Micro SD Card.
5.3 POWERING YOUR ZXM-AC2
To power ON your ZXM-AC2 follow the below steps:
1. Insert the battery into the Unit.
2. Press and hold the POWER ON / OFF Button on the front of the
Unit until the start-up screen appears.
5.4 FORMAT YOUR MICRO SD CARD
Before you start using the ZXM-AC2, we recommend that you format
the Micro SD card. You can do this via the ZXM-AC2, by following
these instructions:
1. Once the ZXM-AC2 is fully charged, insert your Micro SD Card into
the correct slot (see 4.0 COMPONENTS).
2. Press the POWER ON / OFF Button on the front of the Unit to turn
ON the ZXM-AC2.

3. Press the POWER ON / OFF Button four times, this will open up the
Settings menu. Press the SHOOT / RECORD Button to activate the
Settings page.
4. Press the POWER ON / OFF Button three times, this will open up
the ZXM-AC2 hardware Settings menu.
5. Press the DOWN Button twice on the right side of the Unit to
navigate down the menu to ‘Format’.
6. Press the SHOOT/ RECORD Button again to open the Format section.
7. Press the UP / DOWN Button again to select either ‘Confirm’ or
‘Cancel.’ This will initiate the formatting of the Micro SD card.
NOTE: Formatting the Micro SD card will permanently erase any data already
stored on the Micro SD card. Be sure to save your data prior to
Formatting.
6.0 ZXM-AC2 CONTROLS AND FUNCTIONS
6.1 POWER ON / OFF BUTTON
The POWER ON / OFF Button is located on the top left hand corner
of the ZXM-AC2. This is used to power the Unit ON / OFF.
The POWER ON / OFF Button is also used to change between
camera Modes, Settings, and also serves as the back Button when you
are in the navigation Settings.

6.2 SHOOT / RECORD BUTTON
The SHOOT / RECORD Button is located on right side on top of the
ZXM-AC2. This Button is interchangable and is used to both shoot still
images and record videos.
The SHOOT / RECORD Button is also used to access the Settings
menus, select menu items and confirm your selection.
6.3 ACCESSING SYSTEM SETTINGS
You can access system Settings when using any of the camera Modes.
To access system Settings for the ZXM-AC2 follow the below steps:
1. Press the SHOOT / RECORD Button to end recording (if required).
2. Press the POWER ON / OFF Button four times, this will open up the
Settings menu.
3. Quick press the SHOOT / RECORD Button once to activate the
Settings.
NOTE: To move through the Settings tabs, press the POWER ON /
OFF Button. To move through the Settings tab options, use
the UP / DOWN arrow Buttons. To select a Setting, adjust or
confirm and use the SHOOT / RECORD Button.

6.4 SETTING THE DATE & TIME
To set the correct Date and Time on your ZXM-AC2, follow the below
steps once your Unit is powered ON:
1. Press the SHOOT / RECORD Button to end recording (if required).
2. Press the POWER ON / OFF Button four times, this will open up the
Settings menu. Press the SHOOT / RECORD Button to activate the
Settings page.
3. Press the POWER ON / OFF Button three times, this will open up
the ZXM-AC2 hardware Settings menu.
4. Press the DOWN Button once on the right side of the Unit to
navigate down the menu to ‘Date-Time’.
5. Quick press the SHOOT / RECORD Button again once to open the
Date/Time Settings. A screen will appear with the Date and Time.
NOTE: The number which has a highlighted blue box can be
changed with the up and down Buttons. The date is set as
DD/MM/YYYY, and the time is 24 hour set as HH:MM:SS.
5. Set the correct Date and Time. Once you have adjusted the first
value, press the SHOOT / RECORD Button to jump to the next
value (you will notice the next value will now highlight a blue box).

6. When all adjustments have been made for Date and Time, Press
the SHOOT / RECORD Button to exit the Date-Time menu. To exit
the Settings Menu press the POWER ON / OFF Button once, where
you will be prompted to press the SHOOT / RECORD Button to
confirm you are exiting the feature.
6.5 AUTO POWER OFF
The Auto Power OFF function is designed to help extend the battery
life of the ZXM-AC2. It will Auto Power OFF after a selected period
of inactivity (1, 3, 5 minutes). The ZXM-AC2 is set to turn off after 1
minute. To adjust these settings, follow the below steps:
1. Press the SHOOT / RECORD Button to end recording (if required).
2. Press the POWER ON / OFF Button four times, this will open up the
Settings menu. Press the SHOOT / RECORD Button to activate the
Settings page.
3. Press the POWER ON / OFF Button twice, this will open up the
ZXM-AC2 system Settings menu.
4. Press the DOWN Button 8 times to navigate down the menu to
Auto Power OFF . You will see this option highlight.
5. Quick press the SHOOT / RECORD Button, once to open the
Auto Shutdown Settings. Four options will appear on the menu: 1
minute, 3 minutes, 5 minutes and OFF.
Press the DOWN Button and select the option you require.

Press the SHOOT / RECORD Button to select.
7. To exit the Settings Menu, press the POWER ON / OFF Button
twice. You will be prompted to press the SHOOT / RECORD Button
to confirm exiting.
Follow the steps for all Auto Power OFF options.
6.6 WIFI
The ZXM-AC2 comes with inbuilt WiFi, allowing you to access your
footage and photos through your smartphone. Your smartphone can also
act as a wireless monitor for your action camera.
The ZXM-AC2 default setting is to have WiFi turned OFF.
To alter this setting follow the below steps:
1. Press the SHOOT / RECORD Button to end recording (if required).
2. Press the POWER ON / OFF Button four times to open the Settings
menu. Press the SHOOT / RECORD Button to activate the Settings
page.
3. Press the DOWN Button twice to navigate down the menu to
‘WiFi’, you will see this highlighted.
5. Press the SHOOT / RECORD Button to open the WiFi details (WiFi
name and password).

6. Open your smartphone’s WiFi Settings and search for the device
name that is shown on the ZXM-AC2 screen. Click this name and
enter in the password (also on the screen). You can now access
the ZXM-AC2 through the App. When WiFi is connected, the LED
indicator light at the top of the Unit will slowly and continuously
flash red. ( See section 11.0 for App Information)
NOTE: When WiFi is connected to your smartphone, you cannot use
the functions on the ZXM-AC2 via the camera. However you
can manage functions via the App while the action camera
is in this mode. You can control functions via the ZXM-AC2
again once you have finished downloading your images and or
videos onto your smartphone through the App. Please refer to
section 12.1 for more details about how to use the App.
7. To exit out of WiFi mode, press the UP Button.
6.7 ROTATE IMAGE
You have the ability to flip the image vertically (upside down) when you
are using the ZXM-AC2, by turning on the Rotate Image function.
1. Press the SHOOT / RECORD Button to end recording (if required).
2. Press the POWER ON / OFF Button four times, this will open up the
Settings menu. Press the SHOOT / RECORD Button to activate the
Settings page.

3. Press the POWER ON / OFF Button twice, to open the ZXM-AC2
system Settings menu.
4. Press the DOWN Button 3 times to navigate down the menu to
‘Rotate Image’. You will see this option highlight and a tick inside a
box will appear.
5. Press the SHOOT / RECORD Button to Rotate Image.
6. To exit the Settings, press the POWER ON / OFF Button twice, you
will be prompted to press the SHOOT / RECORD Button to confirm.
6.8 DVR MODE
When DVR Mode is activated, the ZXM-AC2 will continue to record
until the Unit has run out of power. To change this setting, follow the
below steps:
1. Press the SHOOT / RECORD Button to end recording (if required).
2. Press the POWER ON / OFF Button 4 times to open the Settings menu.
Press the SHOOT / RECORD Button to activate the Settings page.
3. Press the POWER ON / OFF Button twice, this will open up the
ZXM-AC2 system Settings menu.
4. Press the DOWN Button 4 times to navigate down the menu to
‘DVR Mode’. This option will be highlighted.
If this function is
activated there will be a tick in the box.
5. Press the SHOOT / RECORD Button to either activate or deactivate
‘DVR Mode.’

6. To exit the Settings menu, press the POWER ON / OFF Button twice.
You will be prompted to press the SHOOT / RECORD Button to exit.
6.9 SCREEN SAVER
The Screen Saver function allows you to use your action camera but
also conserve power, by allowing the LCD display to turn OFF while the
camera continues to record.
There are four options to activate within this function, however the
default time setting is 20 seconds. To change the this setting, follow
the below steps:
1. Press the SHOOT / RECORD Button to end recording (if required).
2. Press the POWER ON / OFF Button four times, this will open up the
Settings menu. Press the SHOOT / RECORD Button to activate the
Settings page.
3. Press the POWER ON / OFF Button twice, this will open up the
ZXM-AC2 system Settings menu.
4. Press the DOWN Button 7 times to navigate down the menu to
‘Screen Saver’. This option will highlight when selected.
5. Quick press the SHOOT / RECORD Button again once to open the
Screen Saver Settings. Four options will appear on the menu: 10
seconds, 20 seconds, 30 seconds and OFF.
Press the
UP / DOWN

to the option you require.

7. To exit the Settings Menu, press the POWER ON / OFF Button
twice, you will be prompted to press the SHOOT / RECORD Button
to confirm.
Follow the steps for all four Screen Saver options.
6.10 LED INDICATOR
The ZXM-AC2 has LED Indicator lights that indicate if a function is
active.
The LED Indicator on the top of the Unit notifies you when WiFi is
connected by a constantly flashing red light. There are also two small
LED Indicator lights on the left side of the screen:
•
The red LED Indicator light shows the ZXM-AC2 is currently charging.
• The blue LED Indicator light will stay solid blue when not recording,
and when recording, it will flash blue.
The ZXM-AC2 LED Indicator light settings can be adjusted from its
default setting of ON. To change this setting, follow the below steps:
1. Press the SHOOT / RECORD Button to end recording (if required).
2. Press the POWER ON / OFF Button four times, this will open up the
Settings menu. Press the SHOOT / RECORD Button to activate the
Settings page.
3. Press the POWER ON / OFF Button twice, this will open up the
ZXM-AC2 system Settings menu.

4. Press the DOWN Button 6 times to navigate down the menu to
‘LED Indicator’. You will see this option highlight. If this function is
activated there will be a tick in the box.
5. Press the SHOOT / RECORD Button to either activate or deactivate it.
6. To exit, press the POWER ON / OFF Button twice. You will be
prompted to press the SHOOT / RECORD Button to confirm your
choice.
7.0 PICTURE SETTINGS
7.1 PHOTO MODE
Before you take a photo, look for a camera icon on the screen to
confirm you’re in the right mode.
If you are not in this mode press the POWER ON / OFF Button to
switch modes. Once you are in the correct mode, press the SHOOT /
RECORD Button on the top of the Unit to take a photo.
7.2 IMAGE RESOLUTION
You have the option of changing the Image Resolution through the
ZXM-AC2. You can change between 2, 5, 8, 12 and 16 Megapixels.
The higher the number, the higher the resolution and the more
detailed your photos will be. The ZXM-AC2 is defaulted to shoot at 16
megapixels.
