1.0 INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing the ZXM-AC1 action camera. Please read
through the User Manual before attempting to use the ZXM-AC1.

5.0 GETTING STARTED
CAUTION:
Before using your action camera please ensure you read and understand the
following product and safety precautions.
• Do not use the ZXM-AC1 in water without the waterproof case.
• Do not use the ZXM-AC1 with the waterproof case in water deeper than
30m.
• Always check the waterproof case seal is clean and free of debris before use
in water.
• Do not attempt to open the ZXM-AC1 camera or modify it. If the ZXM-AC1
has been tampered with the warranty will be void. Maintenance and repairs
should only be performed by Zero-X customer service representatives.
Please see the warranty at the end of this manual for more information.
• Do not handle or charge the ZXM-AC1 with wet hands unless it is enclosed
in its waterproof case. This will help avoid damage to your camera.
• Only recharge the ZXM-AC1 battery using the supplied USB cable.
• Do not use the ZXM-AC1 in temperatures that exceed 55°C.
• Do not drop, crush, pierce, bend, deform, microwave, incinerate or shoot the
ZXM-AC1.

BATTERY WARNING
Always charge the ZXM-AC1 using the provided USB Cable. If the ZXM-AC1
is not charged as directed in this manual, the battery may become damaged
and fail.
• Never dismantle the ZXM-AC1 or expose the internal battery cell.
• Do not dispose of the ZXM-AC1 in fire.
• Please dispose of the ZXM-AC1 mindfully and observe local regulations,
especially in regards to the safe disposal of the internal battery. Check your
local recycling facility for more information.
• Do not attempt to expose the internal battery cell.
• Only use a certified 5V 1A USB charger to charge the ZXM-AC1. Using non-
certified chargers could potentially damage the ZXM-AC1, or the ZXM-AC1
battery and void the warranty.
• Do not let the battery charge overnight.
• If the ZXM-AC1 appears to still need charging after three hours, temporarily
remove it from its charger as the battery may overheat. Let it cool down for
30 minutes and try charging again.
5.1 CHARGING THE BATTERY
We recommend that you fully charge your ZXM-AC1 before use. A full
charge will take approximately 2.5 hours using a 5V / 1A charger.

The LED light on the back of the ZXM-AC1 indicates the status of the
unit’s charging cycle. It will stay RED while charging. When the ZXM-AC1
is fully charged the LED light will turn OFF.
5.2 MICRO SD CARD COMPATIBILITY
The ZXM-AC1 requires a Micro SD Card (not included) to save
recorded files. We recommend that you use a maximum 32GB, Class
10 or higher Micro SD Card from a well known brand.
NOTE: There is only one correct way to insert the Micro SD Card into your
ZXM-AC1. It should easily slide in. Do not force the card into the slot
as it may damage the unit and the card.
5.3 POWERING YOUR ZXM-AC1
To power ON your ZXM-AC1 follow the below steps:
1. Insert the battery into the unit.
2. Press and hold the POWER ON / OFF Button on the front of the
unit, until the start up screen appears.
5.4 FORMAT YOUR MICRO SD CARD
We recommend that you format your Micro SD card before you start
using the ZXM-AC1. You can do this via the ZXM-AC1, by following
these instructions:

1. Once the ZXM-AC1 is fully charged insert your Micro SD Card into
the correct slot (See 4.0 COMPONENTS).
2. Press the POWER ON / OFF Button on the front of the unit to turn
ON the ZXM-AC1.
3. Quick press the POWER ON / OFF Button four times on the front
of the unit. This will bring you to the Settings menu. Each press will
navigate through Video, Image, Playback and Settings.
4. Press the UP Button four times on the right side of the unit to
navigate up the Settings menu to “Format”.
5. Press the SHOOT / RECORD Button to open the Format section.
6. Press the DOWN Button to navigate to ‘OK’, then press the
SHOOT / RECORD Button again to click ‘OK’. This will initiate the
formatting of the Micro SD card.
NOTE:
Formatting the Micro SD card will permanently erase all data stored
on the Micro SD card. We recommend you back up your data before
formatting.

6.0 ZXM-AC1 CONTROLS AND FUNCTIONS
6.1 POWER ON / OFF BUTTON
The POWER ON / OFF Button is located at the front of the ZXM-AC1
in the bottom left corner. This is used to power the unit ON/OFF.
The POWER ON / OFF Button is also used to switch between the
camera modes, access the settings menu and also serves as the back
Button (when you are in the navigation settings).
6.2 SHOOT / RECORD BUTTON
The SHOOT / RECORD Button is located on the top, right hand side
of the ZXM-AC1. This Button is interchangeable, and is used to shoot
images and also record videos.
The SHOOT / RECORD Button is also used to select menu items, and
confirm your selection.
6.3 ACCESSING SYSTEM SETTINGS
You can access system settings when using any of the camera modes.
If you are currently in video mode and recording, you will need to end
the recording first. To access system settings for the ZXM-AC1 follow
the below steps:
1. Press the SHOOT / RECORD Button to end recording if you are in
video mode and recording.

2. Quick press the POWER ON / OFF Button on the front of the unit.
This will bring up the navigation menu.
3. Quick press the POWER ON / OFF Button again once in the
navigation menu to navigate to the settings menu.
6.4 SETTING THE DATE & TIME
To set the correct date and time on your ZXM-AC1, turn the unit on
and follow the steps below:
1. Press the SHOOT / RECORD Button to end recording if you are in
video mode and recording.
2. Quick press the POWER ON / OFF Button on the front of the unit.
This will bring up the navigation menu.
3. Quick press the POWER ON / OFF Button again in the navigation
menu to tab over to the settings menu.
4. Press the UP Button five times to navigate up the menu to ‘date /
time.’ You will see this option highlight.
5. Quick press the SHOOT / RECORD Button again once to open the
date / time settings. A screen will appear with the date and time.
NOTE: The number which is highlighted yellow can be changed with
the up and down Buttons. The date is set as DD/MM/YYYY,
and the time is 24 hour mode and is set as HH:MM.

6. Set the correct date and time. Once you have adjusted the first
value, press the SHOOT / RECORD Button to jump to the next
value (you will notice the next value will now be highlighted blue).
7. When all adjustments have been made for date and time, press the
POWER ON / OFF Button twice to exit the navigation menu.
6.5 AUTO POWER OFF
The auto power OFF function is designed to help extend the battery
life of the ZXM-AC1. It will automatically power OFF after a selected
period of inactivity (3, 5 or 10 minutes). To choose which option the
unit will power off (3, 5 or 10 minutes), follow the steps below:
1. Press the SHOOT / RECORD Button to end recording if you are in
video mode and recording.
2. Quick press the POWER ON / OFF Button on the front of the unit.
This will bring up the navigation menu.
3. Quick press the POWER ON / OFF Button again in the navigation
menu to navigate to the settings menu.
4. Press the UP Button eight times to navigate up the menu to ‘auto
power off’. You will see this option highlight.
5. Quick press the SHOOT / RECORD Button again once to open the
Auto Power Off settings. Four options will appear on the menu: 3
minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes and OFF.
Press the DOWN Button to
the option you require.

Press the SHOOT / RECORD Button to select.
6. To exit the navigation menu, press the POWER ON / OFF Button.
Follow the steps for all four auto power off options.
6.6 SOUND
You have the ability to adjust the Sound settings in the ZXM-AC1.
Sounds will come from the unit with record audio and beep sound.
The ZXM-AC1 default settings for sound are:
• Record Audio: On
• Beep Sound: On
To change the sound settings, follow the below steps:
1. Press the SHOOT / RECORD Button to end recording if you are
currently using the video mode and recording.
2. Quick press the POWER ON / OFF Button on the front of the unit.
This will bring up the navigation menu.
3. Quick press the POWER ON / OFF Button again in the navigation
menu to navigate to the settings menu.
4. Press the DOWN Button four times to navigate down the settings
menu to ‘Record Audio’ (or eighteen times to navigate down the
menu to ‘Beep Sound’). You will see the options highlight.

5. Quick press the SHOOT / RECORD Button again once, this will
open the ‘Record Audio’ or ‘Beep Sound’ settings. Two options will
appear on the menu: Off or On. To select one of the options, press
the SHOOT / RECORD Button to the option you require and you will
see this selection highlighted on the screen.
6. Once the settings are changed, press the POWER ON / OFF
Button once to exit the menu navigation.
6.7 SCREEN SAVER
Record videos and conserve power with the screen saver function,
which allows the LCD display to turn OFF while the ZXM-AC1 continues
to record. There are four screen saver options to choose from. The
ZXM-AC1 default setting is set to OFF. To either activate or change this
setting, follow the below steps:
1. Quick press the POWER ON / OFF Button on the front of the unit.
This will bring up the navigation menu.
2. Quick press the POWER ON / OFF Button again in the navigation
menu to tab over to the settings menu.
3. Press the UP Button nine times to navigate up the menu to ‘screen
saver.’ You will see this option highlight.

4. Quick press the SHOOT / RECORD Button again once to open the
Sound settings. Four options will appear on the menu: 1 minute, 3
minutes, 5 minutes and OFF. Press the UP / DOWN Button to the
option you require.

Press the SHOOT / RECORD Button to select.
6. To exit the navigation menu, press the POWER ON / OFF Button.
Follow the steps for all four screen saver options.
7.0 PICTURE SETTINGS
7.1 PHOTO MODE
Before you take a still photo, ensure that you are in photo mode and
not in video mode. You are able to identify this through the icon on
the top left corner on the screen (there will be a camera icon in photo
mode).
If you are not in this mode quick press the POWER ON / OFF Button
to change between modes. Once you are in Photo Mode, press the
SHOOT / RECORD Button on the top of the unit to take a photo.
You have the option of changing the image resolution through the
ZXM-AC1. You can change between 12, 10, 8, 5, 3, 2, 1.3 Megapixels
and VGA. The higher the number, the higher the resolution and the
more detailed your photos will be, however they will take up more
storage space. The ZXM-AC1 is defaulted to shoot at 5 megapixels. To
change resolution, follow the below steps:

1. Ensure you are in Photo Mode.
2. Quick press the POWER ON / OFF Button on the front of the unit.
This will bring up the navigation menu.
3. Press the DOWN Button once. You will see the ‘Image Size’ tab
highlight.
4. Press the SHOOT / RECORD Button to open the Image Size menu.
5. You can now press the UP or DOWN Button again to move between
options. Once the desired resolution is chosen, press the SHOOT /
RECORD Button to change.
6. To exit the navigation menu, press the POWER ON / OFF Button.
7.2 CAPTURE MODE
Capture Mode allows you to adjust how many images your action
camera takes in one ‘shot’ on the ZXM-AC1.
You can change between
OFF, 3 Pictures, 5 Pictures and 10 Pictures. The ZXM-AC1 default
setting is set to OFF. To change this setting, follow the below steps:
1. Quick press the POWER ON / OFF Button on the front of the unit.
This will bring up the navigation menu.
2. Press the DOWN Button eight times. You will see the ‘Capture
Mode’ tab highlight.

Press the SHOOT / RECORD Button to open the Capture Mode menu.

4. You can now press the UP or DOWN Button again to move between
options. Once a desired Capture Mode is chosen, press the SHOOT
/ RECORD Button to change.
5. To exit the navigation menu, press the POWER ON / OFF Button.
7.3 DELAYED PHOTO
You are able to use the Delayed Photo on the ZXM-AC1. You can
change between OFF and ON. The ZXM-AC1 default setting is set to
OFF. To change this setting, follow the below steps:
1. Quick press the POWER ON / OFF Button on the front of the unit.
This will bring up the navigation menu.
2. Press the down Button night times. You will see the ‘Delayed
Photo’ tab highlight.
3. Press the SHOOT / RECORD Button to open the delayed photo menu.
4. You can now press the UP or DOWN Button again to move between
options OFF and ON (3 seconds). Once a desired option is chosen,
press the SHOOT / RECORD Button to change.
5. To exit the navigation menu, press the POWER ON / OFF Button.
7.4 DATE STAMP
The Date and Time is displayed on your images by default. While the
Date Stamp function is a default feature of the ZXM-AC1, it can be
changed by following these steps:

1. Quick press the POWER ON / OFF Button on the front of the unit.
This will bring up the navigation menu.
2. Press the DOWN Button five times. You will see the ‘Date Stamp’
tab highlight.
3. Press the SHOOT / RECORD Button to open the date stamp menu.
4. You can now press the UP or DOWN Button again to move between
options. Once a desired option is chosen, press the SHOOT /
RECORD Button to change.
5. To exit the navigation menu, press the POWER ON / OFF Button.
8.0 VIDEO SETTINGS
8.1 VIDEO MODE
When you turn on the ZXM-AC1, it will automatically default to Video
Mode. A video icon in the top left corner of the screen will confirm it is
in this mode.
To begin recording press the SHOOT / RECORD Button. The blue
LED light on the bottom left of the screen will start flashing when
recording. You will also see a flashing red dot on the screen next to the
Video Camera icon.
To stop recording, press the SHOOT / TRIGGER icon again.
The ZXM-AC1 comes with a fixed resolution of 1080P Full High Definition.

8.2 PLAYBACK MODE
Playback Mode will enable you
to view photos and videos you have
shot with the ZXM-AC1.
You will need to stop recording to use this feature. You will see the
Playback icon in the top left corner of the screen when you are in this
mode.
To scroll through your photos and videos, use the UP / DOWN Button
on the right side of the unit. An icon of a video or an image will be
visible to show if you’re in video or photo mode.
To exit Playback Mode, press the POWER ON / OFF Button twice.
This will return you to the default mode (video).
WATCHING VIDEOS IN PLAYBACK MODE
To watch videos in Playback Mode, please follow these steps:
1. Press the SHOOT / RECORD Button.
2.To play/ pause this video, press the SHOOT / RECORD Button again.
3. To exit the current video playback press the
POWER ON / OFF
Button once.
DELETING FILES IN PLAYBACK MODE
To delete any files that have been taken on the ZXM-AC1 or on the
Micro SD Card, follow the below steps.
