CIRCUIT MODULE INSTRUCTION MANUAL
General
The SCM-ACM is a pl g-in so nder mod le for the Smart Connect M lti-loop panel. It has two so nder circ its rated
at 500mA. Each circ it is s pervised for open, short and earth fa lt conditions.
An additional feat re of the SCM-ACM mod le is that it has the ability to program a circ it as a 24V a xiliary o tp t,
which can be sed to provide power to external eq ipment.
Installation
1. Ens re that the installation area is free from any cables or wires that may get ca ght, and that there is eno gh
space on the DIN rail to mo nt the mod le. Also ens re that the DIN clip nderneath the mod le is in the open
position.
2. Place the mod le onto the DIN rail, hooking the metal earth clip nderneath onto the rail first.
3. Once the earth clip is hooked, p sh the bottom of the mod le onto the rail so that the mod le sits flat.
4. P sh the plastic DIN clip (located at the bottom of the mod le) pwards to lock and sec re the mod le into
position.
5. Once the mod le is sec red to the DIN rail, simply connect the s pplied CAT5E cable to the mod le’s RJ45 port.
6. Connect the other end of CAT5E cable to the nearest nocc pied RJ45 port on the termination PCB.
ATTENTION: THE PANEL MUST BE POWERED DOWN AND DISCONNECTED FROM THE BATTERIES BEFORE
INSTALLING OR REMOVING ANY MODULES.

TRM RJ45 Port Address Designation
Each RJ45 port on the Smart Connect M lti-loop termination has its own niq e port address. This port address is
important to keep note of as it is displayed on Alarm/Fa lt messages and is sed when config ring or setting p
ca se and effects on the panel (See SCM operation man al GLT-261-7-10).
Sec ring the mod les
The mod les are designed to clip together to make them more sec re. In addition, the SCM panel is s pplied with
Din rail stoppers. These sho ld be fitted before the first mod le, and after the last mod le on each rail.
Before Powering the Panel On
1.
To prevent the risk of a spark, do not connect the batteries. Only connect the batteries after powering on the
system from its main AC s pply.
2.
Check that all external field wiring is clear from any open, shorts and gro nd fa lts.
3.
Check that all the mod les have been installed properly, with correct connections and placement
4.
Check that all switches and j mper links are at their correct settings.
5.
Check that all interconnection cables are pl gged in properly, and that they are sec re.
6.
Check that the AC power wiring is correct.
7.
Ens re that the panel chassis has been correctly earth gro nded.
Before powering on from the main AC s pply, make s re that the front panel door is closed

Power on Proced re
1. After the above has been completed, t rn the panel on (Via AC Only). The panel will follow the same power p
seq ence described in initial power p section above
2. The panel will now display one of the following messages
Message
Meaning
Panel has not
detected any mod les fitted
d ring its power p check.
Power down the panel and check that the
expected mod les are fitted, and that all
mod le cables are correctly inserted.
Note that the panel will need at least one
mod le fitted to r n.
The panel has detected a new mod le added
to a port that was previo sly empty.
This is the s al message seen the first time a
panel is config red
The panel has detected a different type of
mod le fitted to a port that was previo sly
occ pied.
The panel has detected a mod le fitted to a
port that is the same type, b t it`s serial
n mber has changed.
This co ld happen if a loop mod le was
swapped with another one, for example.
The panel has detected no mod le fitted to a
port that was previo sly occ pied.
The panel has detected no mod le changes, so
has powered p and started r nning

1.
Check that the mod le config ration is as expected sing the
and
to navigate the thro gh the port
n mbers. Press the
icon to confirm the changes.
2.
The new mod le is now config red into the panel and is ready for se.
3.
Since the batteries are not connected, the panel will report them as removed, lighting the yellow “Fa lt” LED,
intermittently so nding the Fa lt b zzer, and displaying battery removed message on the screen.
4.
Connect the batteries, ens ring that the polarity is correct (Red wire = +ve) & (Black wire = -ve). Acknowledge
the Fa lt event via the display screen, and reset the panel to clear the battery fa lt.
5.
The panel sho ld now remain in the normal condition, and yo can config re the panel as normal.

NOTE:
When an ACM is configured as a bell output, the “2 V On”
LED on the front of the module will be flashing ON/OFF.
NOTE:
This wiring diagram demonstrates the option to
program one or more SCM-ACM outputs to become a
regulated constant 2 VDC output.
NOTE:
When
an alarm circuit is
configured as a 2 v aux
output, the “2 V On” LED on the front of the module will be
