This kit for Zinus bunk beds is designed to ensure the safety of
your child/children and your peace of mind. Please install these
four bracket-and-cable units as illustrated in the instructions.
Even after installing the kit, please
periodically check for welds that
are cracked or coming apart,
such as the weld shown to
the left. If you discover such
welds, discontinue using
your bunk bed and
contact our customer
support for a refund.

WARNING
Two or more welds that connect the horizontal side rail of the upper bunk to the
vertical support of the guardrail can break and your upper bunk can collapse.
A person falling from the upper bunk and/or a person in the lower bunk can
suer serious bodily injury.
Install the brackets and cables provided. Do not use your bunk bed until you
have installed the brackets and cables.
NOTE: This repair kit is not intended for upper bunks with broken welds.
Prior to installing the kit, please inspect the welds for cracks at the four
locations circled below where the horizontal side rails of the upper bunk are
connected to the vertical bars of the guardrail (see diagram below). Look for
cracks in the welds on the three edges (three red dotted lines marked 1,2,3,
below) where each vertical bar is welded to the end of a horizontal side rail. The
edge marked 3 is on the back side of the vertical bar. Do NOT install the
supplied kit if you observe that any weld is cracked or coming apart (as shown
below)；in that case immediately discontinue using your bunk bed and contact
our customer support for a refund.

Remove your mattress, bedding, and any other objects from
the upper bunk of your bed.

Prior to installing the kit, inspect the welds for cracks at the
four locations where the horizontal side rails of the upper
bunk are connected to the vertical bars of the guardrail.

3Use the Allen wrench (E) to remove the upper bolt that
attaches the guardrail to one of the four bed posts.
4Position the washer of a cable (A) at the bolt hole of the
guardrail, and reinsert the bolt you removed in Step 3
through the washer and tighten it, using the Allen wrench (E).
5On the same bed post, position a bracket (B) directly below
the horizontal side rail of the upper bed frame. Slide the
bracket inward from the outside of the bedpost.

6Position the threaded nut block (C) on the opposite side of
the bracket (B). Align the threading of the nut block with the
holes in the bracket (B).

7Position the washer of the unattached end of the cable (A),
which was secured in step 4, at the bolt hole on the outside
of the bracket (B), as shown in the graphic at the top of the
next column.
8Insert a bolt (D) through the washer and bracket (B) and into
the threaded nut block (C), and tighten the bolt, using the
Allen wrench (E).

9Insert another bolt (D) through the opposite side of the
bracket (B) and into the threaded nut block (C) (from the
inside of the bed) and tighten the bolt, using the Allen
wrench (E).

10 To prevent any openings where little fingers could get stuck
between the cable (A) and the bed post, wrap one zip tie (F)
around the top of the cable, bed post, and vertical bar of the
guardrail and tighten the zip tie (F) so as to pull the cable (A)
in towards the bed post, then wrap another zip tie (F) just
like the first zip tie around the bottom of the cable (A).
11 Repeat steps 3-10 for each of the remaining three bed posts.
