monochromator lid if not needed!

1. Introduction
The Omni-λ Spectrograph comes with a range of features including:
• Motorized, individually factory-calibrated systems, out-of-the-box operation and seamless
integration to experimental set-ups, Pre-aligned and pre-calibrated spectrograph.Functionality
including wavelength control and calibration, grating selection, shutter control slit control and filter
selection.
• Image astigmatism correction, Optimised toroidal optics for high density multi-track capabilities(For
imaging spectrograph).
• A USB 2.0 interface giving the user the benefit of 'plug-and-play' convenience.
• Interchangeable grating turret. This provides flexibility and convenience by giving the user a simple
way to change the gratings in the unit.
• Dual detector outputs,extract best optical resolution while allowing use of
single point detectors InGaAs, PbS, InSb & MCT, and also for CCD.
• A range of accessories including optical fibres and inputs, motorised filter wheel, additional grating
turrets, shutter.

5. Installation & Operation
5.1. Installation
5.1.1 USB Software Installatio
XP and Win7 system：
1. Firstly ensure the Power switch on the rear of the spectrograph is set to 0.
2. Connect the Power & USB cables.
NOTE: Do not switch on the spectrograph at this stage.
3. Connect the other end of the USB cable to the PC and plug in the power supply to the mains, but
do not switch the power on.
4. Put the CD into the PC CD-ROM,switch the power on to the spectrograph.A dialog box should then
appear as the following:
5. Select the Install from a list or specific location (Advanced) option then click Next>. A dialog box
similar to the following should appear:
6. In the Browse Folder dialog box, find the USB driver in the CD and install it. IF your PC is 64-bit,
please select USB Driver-64 bit.

5.1.2 Connecting the spectrograph
a. Firstly ensure the Power switch on the rear of the spectrograph is set to 0
b. Connect the Power & USB cables.Connect the other end of the USB cable to the PC and plug in
the power supply to the mains, switch the power on and install the USB driver as USB SOFTWARE
INSTALLATION.
c. Remove the input slit and output slit covers from the spectrograph, e.g.:
d. Fitting the light source to the input slit. Then the system will be as Tunable Light Source. We can
supply Deuterium, Multiplex,Tungsten-Halogen and Xenon light source.
e. Fitting the detector to the output slit, we can supply Photomultiplier,Silicon Series
Detectors,InGaAs Series Detectors and so on.
f. Open the light source, spectrometer, data collector power, open the CTL-C1 or Zolixscan
scanning software , you can begin to use.
5.2. Accessory Operation
5.2.1 Slit
Micrometer
The micrometer knob is graduated in 0.010-millimeter (10µm) increments. Each clockwise revolution
of the micrometer knob increases the slit width 0.25 millimeters (250µm). Refer to the side drawing.
The micrometer knob should not be rotated below a reading of 0.00 or above 3.00. A micrometer
setting of less than 0.010 millimeters (10µm) should not be used, because a stop is provided to
prevent the slit jaws from contacting each other.
