Example of Configuring VoIP on the Dual Mode Phone
1. Create a WLAN connection profile named: Office,please refer to other
sections of this document for the step-by-step description。
2. Create a SIP account SIP1,please refer to other sections of this document
for the step-by-step description。
3. If the previous two steps have been configured successful, two icons will be
displayed on top of the cell phone screen showing WLAN and SIP account
status. The user can then use the VoIP function of the phone.

Advanced VoIP configurations examples
1. Create multiple WLAN connection profiles [This example assume two
connection profiles will be created: Home ,Office],please refer to other
sections of this document for the step-by-step description。
2. Create multiple SIP accounts [This example assume two SIP accounts will be
created: SIP1 ,SIP2],please refer to other sections of this document for the
step-by-step description。

3. Create multiple usage scenarios [In this example, we show two usage
scenarios, Home>SIP1,Office>SIP2],please refer to other sections of this
document for the step-by-step instructions。
4. If these steps have been completed successfully, the customer can then
make VoIP calls. When the customer is using Home profile, the dual mode
phone will first try to use SIP1 account to register. If using SIP1 account
failed, the phone will try to use default SIP account to register. Similar things
will occur to the second usage scenario.
Instruction of configuring the WLan
1. Press [Settings]>WLAN menu to enter the following configuration screen.
There are two items in the screen [WLAN connections/SIP phone/Usage
Scenarios], click each to enter respective screen.

2. WLAN Connections
Enter the WLAN Connections interface, create a new connection profile. You
can click new as shown in figure to create new a new connection profile
You can also create a new connection profile by clicking [Menu]>[Scan AP]

Select the AP you intend to connect then click [New]. If the phone
successfully associates with the AP, a new connection profile will be created
using the SSID as the profile’s name.
If this is the first WLAN connection profile created, the phone will connect
the AP and try to obtain an IP address. When the phone successfully
associate with the AP, “online” will be displayed to the right to the
connection profile and the icon on top of the screen will be displayed (with
dotted-line for the circle and 3 dots to the right of the icon ) . When the IP
address is obtained, the icon will be changed to what is displayed in Fig. 2 of
this section (with solid-line for the circle and 3 dots to the right of the icon
disappear)
For un-secured AP, the above steps will make phone connect to the WLAN.
If further configuration is necessary, choose the connection profile and
press the joy-sticker.

In the connection setting window, you can change several parameters of the
profile, including the AP, the security setting for the AP. You also can view
the current IP address, default gateway, DNS information etc. [ to change the
current AP in the profile, select the ESSID field by moving the joy-sticker,
press the joy-sticker, and the scan-AP screen will be displayed. After 3
seconds, the results will be displayed. Choose the new AP and press Done]

If there are multiple WLAN connections stored in the phone, you can set a
default profile by clicking [Menu]> [Default]

Choose [Menu]>[Renew IP] will cause the phone to renew it IP address.
Wireless Security Configuration
V660 support various security configurations, including WEP, WPA and
802.1x. When you new a WIFI connection, you need to know how to deal with
some encrypted access points. To make sure what kind of security configuration
you are using, please consult your network administrator. Following is the steps
to configure the wireless security in different scenarios:
1. Certificate import
For TLS and 802.1x security configuration, you need to import a
certificate firstly. Following is the method:

1) Copy the certificate to the "\My document" of the device by active
sync.
Root certificate: PEM and DER format are supported. The certificate
extension name should be “.pem” or “.der”.
Personal certificate: PKCS#12 format are supported. The certificate
extension name should be “.p12”.
2) Import certificate.
Choose Settings/Security/Certificates/Cert import menu, select the
certificate to be imported. If the certificate is PKCS#12 format, input
the password. Then press OK to import the certificate, or cancel to
quit.
2. 802.1x TLS setting
1) Import the personal certificate for 802.1x TLS.
2) Enter the WIFI profile setting (Choose Settings/WIFI/Connections).
Create a new profile (or enter the existing ones), then select the 1X in
"AP setting/Security", TLS in "AP setting/EAP method". Press done to
finish the 802.1x TLS configuration.
3) Press done to finish the 802.1x TLS configurations if you have
finished other settings relevant to IP and etc.
3. 802.1x PEAP setting
1) Enter the WIFI profile setting (Choose Settings/WIFI/Connections).
Create a new profile (or enter the existing ones), then select the 1X in
"AP setting/Security", PEAP in "AP setting/EAP method".
2) Input the username/password for 802.1x PEAP you got from the
network administrator.
3) Press done to finish the 802.1x PEAP configurations if you have
finished other settings relevant to IP and etc.
4. WPA TLS setting
1) Import the personal certificate for WPA TLS.
2) Enter the WIFI profile setting (Choose Settings/WIFI/Connections).
Create a new profile (or enter the existing ones), then select the WPA
in "AP setting/Security", TLS in "AP setting/EAP method". Press done
to finish the WPA TLS configuration.
3) Press done to finish the WPA TLS configurations if you have finished
other settings relevant to IP and etc.
5. WPA PEAP setting
1) Enter the WIFI profile setting (Choose Settings/WIFI/Connections).

Create a new profile (or enter the existing ones), then select the WPA
in "AP setting/Security", PEAP in "AP setting/EAP method".
2) Input the username/password for WPA PEAP you got from the network
administrator.
3) Press done to finish the WPA PEAP configurations if you have
finished other settings relevant to IP and etc.
6. WEP setting
1) Enter the WIFI profile setting (Choose Settings/WIFI/Connections).
Create a new profile (or enter the existing ones), then select the WEP
in "AP setting/Security"
2) Select ‘Open’ or ‘Shared’ for Authentication type in accordance with
your WIFI network setting.
3) Select ‘ASCII’ or ‘HEX’ for ‘WEP key format’ in accordance with your
WIFI network setting.
4) Input the password into the ‘WEP key’ blank. You can get this
password from your network administrator.
5) Press done to finish the WEP configurations if you have finished other
settings relevant to IP and etc.
SIP Phone Setting
In the SIP Phone configuration screen, follow the instruction shown on the
screen. Click [New] to create a new SIP account profile. Fill in the
information as shown in the different screens.

You can choose a Default account by choose [Menu]>[Default]. It’s
functionality will be discussed in the next section.

Scenarios
Enter the Scenarios screen, the screen will display the current WLAN
connections profiles. Select the WLAN profile you desire to use and press
the joy-sticker to enter the SIP Phone account list.

Choose the SIP account which you want the WLAN connection to be
associated with, press the joy-sticker. [a ‘.’ will show in front of the selected
SIP account]. Press done to return to the main interface and the association
relationship will be displayed.

Press [Menu]>Unbind to remove the association relationship.

Note: When a WLAN connection profile is selected, if there is no SIP account
associated with thie WLAN connection, the default SIP account will be used.
Please refer to other section of this document to learn how to setup the
default SIP account. If there is a SIP account associated with the WLAN
connection, the phone will register using the associated SIP account.
How to configure your SIP account from PC remotely.
SipCfgTool.exe is an application used to configure SIP account for windows
mobile based HIPI dual mode phone remotely from PC.
1. Environment
a) A windows XP system.
b) Microsoft ActiveSync has been installed.
c) Please make sure that ActiveSync has synchronized with your
computer.
2. How to use.
a) Connect your mobile phone to your PC using the USB cable. Make
sure that ActiveSync has synchronized with your computer. The
ActiveSync icon should be like this:
b) Run SipCfgTool.exe, click ‘IMPORT’ button to import the existing
account list from the phone.

If success, the window should like this:
c) Edit SIP accounts.
i. New a SIP account
Click the ‘NEW’ button, the SIP account configuration page is
opened. The parameter is consistent with those in the phone.
After fill out the form according to your SIP account information,
you should click ‘SAVE’ to store them temporarily or click
‘CANCEL’ to discard your change.

ii. Delete a SIP account
It’s easy. Select an existing SIP account, then click ‘DELETE’
button.

iii. Edit a SIP account
Select an existing SIP account, click ‘EDIT’. After modify them all
according to your SIP account information, you should click ‘SAVE’
to store them temporarily or click ‘CANCEL’ to discard your
change.

d) Export the new SIP account list to the mobile phone.
On the main window, click the ‘EXPORT’ button to export the new SIP
account list to the mobile phone. This operation will cover the original
account list, so you will be required to confirm a pop-up window.

e) Don’t forget to reboot the phone after exporting the new account list,
so as to enable the new SIP profile.
How to use call features especially for VOIP call?
1. Call Hold
during the call, users can press the 'Hold' item in the menu to hold the call.
In some cases, the callee will hear a music.
2. Call Forward
MainMenu->Settings->Phone->More->WIFI Call forwarding
Users can enable and set up the WIFI call forwarding options for 'No Reply',
'Busy' or 'Unconditional'. There is an option to 'Cancel All' call forwarding
settings.
3. Call Transfer (VoWIFI)
For an incoming call, the callee can transfer the call to another people using
the call transfer feature.
Steps: Ringing->answer->dial the target number for transferring->dial out,
now the first incoming call will be hold->click the item 'transfer' in the menu,
the call will be transfer to the dialed number.
4. Call Waiting
MainMenu->Settings->Phone->More->WIFI Call waiting

Check the option: Provide call waiting notifications to enable call waiting
function.
5. Call Mute
During the call, users can press the 'Mute' soft key to mute the call. Press
'unmute' to cancel.
6. 3-Way Conferencing
During the call, users can invite a third party to join, so a 3-way conference
is initialized.
Steps: during the call->dial the target number->dial out, now the first call will
be hold->click the item 'conference' in the menu, the three partner can hear
each other.
7. Speaker Phone
During the call, users can press the 'speakerphone on' item in the menu to
enable the speaker.
8. Speed Dialing
Open the contacts, click on one item to view the detailed contact information,
click the menu, there is an item called 'add to speed dial'. Click this item and
follow the instruction to add the phone number to an available speed dial
number. Next time, users can call the person by dial out a one bit number.
FAQ
1. Does WLAN work fine w/o SIP configuration entered
A:
Yeah, SIP configuration is used to make VOIP call. But without it, WIFI will work
fine. As long as the AP and TCP/IP set correctly, V660 could surf on internet.
2. Does the phone support Blue tooth or Infra-Red?
A:
Our phone dose not supports Blue tooth. But we will have it support Infra-Red.
3. When a user is on GSM mode, he will need to manually connect to the
wireless network and use another interface to make a VOIP call?
A:
No need! GSM and WLAN can work at the same time. User can receive/make a
VOIP call when s/he is making a GSM call and vice versa.

4. Giving an example I am in the open air now and only on GSM network, once I
step into a wireless network environment, will the WLAN part auto detect the
network, auth itself and try to connect to the SIP gateway?
A:
The answer is YES, as long as you have correct information stored in definite
profiles.
5. When attempting to edit SIP settings, the current settings are blanked out
A:
So far, we support one SIP setting per profile. So, you can create different
profiles to store two or more SIP settings.
6. USB connection from PC to V660 does not work
A:
You need to install the MicroSoft AciveSync firstly. Please refer to the
ActiveSync help document for questions related.
7. You say to use SD card for firmware upgrade ... there is no SD card in the
box?? so, what SD card do I use??
A:
Buy one micro SD card - so called T-FLASH card by some people. There are so
many manufactures for this on the market like kingston, sandisk and etc. You
get the firmware image from your provider and press '6 + PowerOff' to start the
upgrade process.
8. How to make a VoIP call?
A:
Add '#' before the number you wish to dial to make a VoIP call.
9. Can the SD card support 2GB SD CARD?
A:
The phone can support 1GB micro SD card with no problems. For larger capacity,
we haven't do any official testing.
10.Does it support Fast Handover between Access Points?
A:
