1 Introduction
The ES-116S is a 16-port switch that can be used to build
high-performance switched networks. The ES-116S is a
store-and-forward device that offers low latency for high-
speed networking.
1.1 Small Workgroup Application
The ES-116S can be used as a standalone switch to
which computers, servers and a printer are directly
connected to form a small workgroup.
2 Hardware Installation
The ES-116S is suitable for an office environment where
it can be placed on a desktop. If you want to mount it on a
wall instead, see section 5.

2Set the ES-116S on a smooth, leveled and sturdy flat
space strong enough to support the weight of the ES-
116S and the connected cables. Make sure there is a
power outlet nearby.
"Do NOT block the ventilation holes.
3 Rear Panel Connections
The RJ-45 ports and the power port are located on the
rear panel.
3.1 RJ-45 Auto-negotiating Ports
The 10Base-T/100Base-TX RJ-45 ports are auto-
negotiating and auto-crossover.
An auto-negotiating port can detect and adjust to the
optimum Ethernet speed (10/100Mpbs) and duplex mode
(full duplex or half duplex) of the connected device.
An auto-crossover (auto-MDI/MDI-X) port automatically
works with a straight-through or crossover Ethernet cable.

"Make sure the cable length between
connections does not exceed 100 meters
(328 feet).
3.2 Power
Use the included power cable to connect your ES-116S to
a power source.
4 LEDs
The LEDs are located on the top panel.
The following table describes the LEDs.

5 Wall Mounting (optional)
See the product specifications for the size of screws to
use and how far apart to place them.
1Locate a high position on wall that is free of
obstructions. Use a sturdy wall.
2Drill two holes for the screws. Make sure the distance
between the centers of the holes matches what is
listed in the product specifications appendix.
"Be careful to avoid damaging pipes or
cables located inside the wall when drilling
holes for the screws.
3Do not screw the screws all the way into the wall.
Leave a small gap of about 0.5 cm between the heads
of the screws and the wall.

ACT
On The port is connected to an Ethernet
network.
Blinking The port is receiving or transmitting data.
Off The port is not connected to an Ethernet
network.

4Make sure the screws are snugly fastened to the wall.
They need to hold the weight of the Prestige with the
connection cables.
5Align the holes on the back of the Prestige with the
screws on the wall. Hang the Prestige on the screws.

Warranty
ZyXEL Limited Warranty
ZyXEL warrants to the original end user (purchaser) that
this product is free from any defects in materials or
workmanship for a period of up to two years from the date
of purchase. During the warranty period, and upon proof
of purchase, should the product have indications of failure
due to faulty workmanship and/or materials, ZyXEL will,
at its discretion, repair or replace the defective products
or components without charge for either parts or labor,
and to whatever extent it shall deem necessary to restore
the product or components to proper operating condition.
Any replacement will consist of a new or re-manufactured
functionally equivalent product of equal or higher value,
and will be solely at the discretion of ZyXEL. This
warranty shall not apply if the product has been modified,
misused, tampered with, damaged by an act of God, or
subjected to abnormal working conditions.

Note
Repair or replacement, as provided under this warranty, is
the exclusive remedy of the purchaser. This warranty is in
lieu of all other warranties, express or implied, including
any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a
particular use or purpose. ZyXEL shall in no event be held
liable for indirect or consequential damages of any kind to
the purchaser.
To obtain the services of this warranty, contact ZyXEL's
Service Center for your Return Material Authorization
number (RMA). Products must be returned Postage
Prepaid. It is recommended that the unit be insured when
shipped. Any returned products without proof of purchase
or those with an out-dated warranty will be repaired or
replaced (at the discretion of ZyXEL) and the customer
will be billed for parts and labor. All repaired or replaced
products will be shipped by ZyXEL to the corresponding
return address, Postage Paid. This warranty gives you
specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights
that vary from country to country.

1 Введение
ES-116S представляет собой 16-портовый
коммутатор, предназначенный для построения
высокопроизводительных коммутируемых сетей. В
целях обеспечения высокой скорости ималого
времени задержки вES-116S применяется механизм
коммутации спромежуточной буферизацией.
1.1 Применение внебольшой рабочей
группы
ES-116S можно использовать вкачестве отдельного
коммутатора небольшой рабочей группы, с
непосредственным подключением компьютеров,
серверов ипринтеров.

2 Установка аппаратного
обеспечения
ES-116S предназначен для использования вусловиях
офиса, свозможностью размещения на столе. При
необходимости крепления коммутатора на стену
обратитесь кразделу 5.
1Убедитесь, что коммутатор ES-116S сухой и
чистый.
2Установите коммутатор ES-116S на ровной
горизонтальной поверхности, достаточно
устойчивой, чтобы выдержать вес ES-116S и
подключенных кнему кабелей. Убедитесь, что
рядом есть розетка.
"НЕ заслоняйте вентиляционные
отверстия.
3 Разъемы на задней панели
На задней панели расположены порты RJ-45 иразъем
питания.

3.1 Порты RJ-45 савтосогласованием
Порты RJ-45 стандарта 10Base-T/100Base-TX
поддерживают автосогласование иавтоматическое
определение типа кабеля.
Порт сфункцией автосогласования может определять
инастраивать оптимальную скорость (10/100 Мбит/c)
ирежим дуплекса (полудуплекс или дуплекс) канала
Ethernet для подключенного устройства.
Порт сфункцией автоматического определения типа
кабеля (автоматического выбора режима MDI/MDI-X)
позволяет использовать для подключения как
стандартный (прямой), так икроссоверный
(перекрещенный) кабели Ethernet.
"Убедитесь, что длина кабеля между
конечными точками подключения не
превышает 100 метров (328 футов).
3.2 Питание
Для подключения ES-116S ксети питания используйте
шнур из комплекта поставки.

4 Индикаторы
Светодиодные индикаторы расположены на верхней
панели.
Описание индикаторов приводится вследующей
таблице.

5 Крепление на стене
(опционально)
Размеры необходимых винтов ирасстояние между
ними можно узнать вприложении схарактеристиками
изделия.
1Выберите свободное место высоко на стене.
Стена должна быть достаточно прочной.
2Просверлите два отверстия для винтов.
Расстояние между центрами отверстий должно
соответствовать указанному вприложении с
характеристиками изделия.
"При сверлении отверстий под винты
постарайтесь не повредить трубы или
кабели, которые могут проходить внутри
стены.
3Не завинчивайте винты встену до упора. Оставьте
между головками винтов истеной небольшой
зазор (приблизительно 0,5 см).
4Убедитесь, что винты надежно держатся встене.
Они должны выдерживать вес коммутатора вместе
сподключенными кабелями.

5Приложите коммутатор кстене так, чтобы
отверстия на его панели совпадали свинтами на
стене. Повесьте коммутатор на винты.
