QUICK REFERENCE GUIDE
Overview
This Quick Reference Guide applies to the following Switch 7750 models.
About the Command Line Interface
To use and navigate the command line interface of your unit, please refer to the following points for assistance:
■When initially accessing the command line interface, press Enter when prompted. The User View menu for the unit
displays. This is indicated by the chevron brackets around the name of the unit at the prompt, for example,
<sw7750>.
■When in the System View menu, square brackets appear around the name of the unit at the prompt, for example,
[sw7750].
■You must be in the System View menu to access the configurable CLI commands.
■Some commands can be entered directly at any prompt from anywhere in the interface.
■If you enter part of a command followed by a ? (with no space between), the CLI will show you all the commands
that begin in that way.
■The term ‘view’ may be used interchangeably with the term ‘menu’.
■The undo command is placed before the command you wish to undo, for example, undo setauthentication
password.
■<CTRL-A> places the cursor back to the start of the command line.
■Enter the first few characters of a command and press TAB to enter the full command without having to input the
entire command (where there is only one command that starts with the entered characters).
■Use the Up Arrow key at the prompt to repeat the previous command string.
■Use the Delete key to delete the character after the cursor; the Backspace key deletes the character before the cursor.
■When entering physical port numbers, Enter the port number as x/0/z, where x is the unit number and z is the
physical port number.

Displaying Command Parameters
At the prompt, enter the name of the command followed by a space and ?. For example:
<sw7750boot ?
The following parameters are displayed:
attribute-switch Exchange the file main-attribute and backup-attribute.
boot-loader Select a file to boot at the next time
bootrom Update Bootrom
web-package Set web resource package
To specify boot loader, enter the command as follows:
<sw7750>boot boot-loader ?
You only need to enter ? if parameters exist for the command.
Displaying Parent Menus
At the prompt, enter quit.
Displaying the User View Menu
Press <CTRL-Z>.
Obtaining Help
At the prompt, enter ?.

Commands
administrator-address Cluster view
Use the administrator-address command to set the MAC address of the management device on a
member device.
Use the undo administrator-address command to remove a member device from the cluster.
dhcp-snooping information vlan circuit-id Ethernet port view
Use the dhcp-snooping information vlan circuit-id command to configure the content of the circuit
ID field in Option 82.
Use the undo dhcp-snooping information circuit-id command to restore the default.
display cluster Any view
Use the display cluster command to display the state and statistics of the cluster to which the current switch
belongs.
flow interval Ethernet port view
Use the flow-interval command to set the interval to perform statistics on port information.
Use the undo flow-interval command to restore the default interval.

Use the holdtime command to configure the holdtime of a switch.

Use the accounting optional command to open the accounting-optional switch.

accounting optional RADIUS scheme view/ISP domain view

charged forcibly.

Use the accounting-on enable command to enable the user re-authentication upon device restart

Use the undo accounting-on send command to restore the default maximum number of attempts to
transmit Accounting-On packets.

acl System view
Use the acl command to define an ACL and enter the corresponding ACL view.
Use the undo acl command to delete all entries of an ACL identified by a number or a name, or the entire
ACL.

Use the area command to enter OSPF area view.
Use the undo area command to cancel the specified area.
area-authentication-mode IS-IS view
Use the area-authentication-mode command to configure IS-IS to authenticate the packets (LSP, CSNP
and PSNP) received from level-1 route using the predefined mode and password.
Use the undo area-authentication-mode command to disable IS-IS from authenticating the received
packets above.
arp check enable System view
Use the arp check enable command to enable the ARP entry checking function.
Use the undo arp check enable command to disable the ARP entry checking function.
arp gratuitous-updating enable System view
Use the arp gratuitous-updating enable command to enable gratuitous ARP packets to be sent
periodically.
Use the undo arp gratuitous-updating enable command to disable gratuitous ARP packets from
being sent periodically. With this function enabled, the switch periodically broadcasts gratuitous ARP packets
from the current interface IP address within the VLAN whose interfaces are configured with an IP address.
arp mac-arp-map limit System view
Use the arp mac-arp-map limit command to set the maximum number of IP addresses to be bound to a
MAC address of a VLAN.
Use the undo arp mac-arp-map limit command to restore the default value.
arp max-dynamic-entry Port view
Use the arp max-dynamic-entry command to set the maximum number of dynamic ARP entries that can
be learnt by a port.
Use the undo arp max-dynamic-entry command to restore the default setting.

Use the arp max-entry command to set the total maximum number of ARP entries.
Use the undo arp max-entry command to restore the default setting.
arp protective-down recover interval System view
Use the arp protective-down recover interval command to specify a recovery interval. A port is
brought up after the interval (since it was disabled).
Use the undo arp protective-down recover interval command to restore the default.
arp proxy enable VLAN interface view
Use the arp proxy enable command to enable proxy ARP.
Use the undo arp proxy enable command to disable proxy ARP.
arp proxy source-vlan enable VLAN interface view
Use the arp proxy source-vlan enable command to enable intra-VLAN proxy ARP, so that proxy ARP is
able to process intra-VLAN ARP requests to provide Layer 3 connectivity between Layer 2 isolated ports in the
same VLAN.
Use the undo arp proxy source-vlan enable command to disable intra-VLAN proxy ARP, so that proxy
ARP only processes inter-VLAN ARP requests instead of intra-VLAN ARP request.
arp rate-limit System view
Use the arp rate-limit command to specify the maximum ARP packet receive rate on ports.
Use the undo arp rate-limit command to restore the default.
arp rate-limit enable System view
Use the arp rate-limit enable command to enable the ARP packet rate limit function.
Use the undo arp rate-limit enable command to disable the ARP packet rate limit function.
arp rate-limit trust Ethernet port view
Use the arp rate-limit trust command to configure the port as a trusted port for ARP packet rate limit.
Use the undo arp rate-limit trust command to configure the port as an untrusted port for ARP packet
rate limit.
arp relay enable System view
Use the arp relay enable command to enable ARP forwarding in the protocol-based VLAN(s).
Use the undo arp relay command to disable ARP forwarding in the protocol-based VLAN(s).
arp source-suppression limit System view
Use the arp source-suppression limit command to set the maximum number of a type of ARP packets
that can be sent to the CPU in a unit of time.
Use the undo arp source-suppression limit command to restore the default setting.
arp static System view
Use the arp static command to create a static ARP entry in the ARP table.
Use the undo arp command to remove an ARP entry.
arp timer aging System view
Use the arp timer aging command to configure the aging time for dynamic ARP entries.
Use the undo arp timer aging command to restore the default aging time.
arp timer gratuitous-updating System view
Use the arp timer gratuitous-updating command to set a gratuitous ARP update interval.
Use the undo arp timer gratuitous-updating command to restore the default gratuitous ARP update
interval.
asbr-summary OSPF view
Use the asbr-summary command to configure the aggregation of imported routes by OSPF.

ascii FTP client view
Use the ascii command to specify that files be transferred in the ASCII mode.
attack-protection System view
Use the attack-protection command to set global Telnet protection. After you execute this command, the
system protects all the Layer-3 interfaces in the Up state.
Use the undo attack-protection command to cancel the global Telnet protection.
Use the attack-protection ip-address command to set special ARP Telnet protection. If the Layer-3 interface
corresponding to the specified IP address is in the UP state, Telnet protection is enabled on this Layer-3 interface.
If the corresponding Layer-3 interface does not exist or is in the Down state, the system saves this configuration
as the special ARP settings and enables Telnet protection when the corresponding Layer-3 interface is in the UP
state.
Use the undo attack-protection ip-address command to cancel the special ARP Telnet protection.
attack-protection disable-defaultroute System view
Use the attack-protection disable-defaultroute command to disable the default-route Telnet
protection function.
Use the undo attack-protection disable-defaultroute command to enable the default-route Telnet
protection function.
attack-protection icmp System view
Use the attack-protection icmp command to enable ICMP protection.
Use the undo attack-protection icmp command to disable ICMP protection.
attack-protection snmp System view
Use the attack-protection snmp command to enable SNMP protection.

Use the bims ip address command to configure the IP address and port number of the BIMS center.

bims request System view
Use the bims request command to have the BIMS device access the BIMS center.

Use the bims sharekey command to configure the shared key between the BIMS device and the BIMS
center.

Use the bims source ip-address command to configure a source IP address for the packets sent by the
BIMS device. It can be the IP address of a port on the device.

Use the bims specify-time command to configure the BIMS device to access the BIMS center at the
specified time and if desired, configure the device to access the BIMS center at regular intervals from then on
during a specified period.

Use the broadcast-suppression command to limit broadcast traffic allowed to be received on each port
(in system view) or on a specified port (in Ethernet port view).
Use the undo broadcast-suppression command to restore the default broadcast suppression setting.
bsr-policy PIM view
Use the bsr-policy command to limit the range of legal BSRs to prevent BSR proofing.
Use the undo bsr-policy command to restore the default setting, that is, no range limit is set and all received
messages are taken as legal.
build Cluster view
Use the build command to configure or modify the cluster name.
Use the undo build command to remove a cluster.
bye FTP client view
Use the bye command to terminate the control connection and data connection with the remote FTP server
and quit to user view.
bye SFTP Client view
Use the bye command to terminate the connection to the remote SFTP server and return to system view.
cache-sa-enable MSDP view
Use the cache-sa-enable command to enable the SA message cache mechanism.
Use the undo cache-sa-enable command to disable the cache mechanism.
c-bsr PIM view
Use the c-bsr command to configure a candidate BSR.
Use the undo c-bsr command to remove the candidate BSR configured.
cd User view
Use the cd command to change the current directory or switch to the directory of a specified storage device.

Use the cd command to change the work directory on the remote FTP server.
cd SFTP Client view
Use the cd command to change the current path on the remote SFTP server. If you did not specify the
remote-path argument, the current path is displayed.
cdup FTP client view
Use the cdup command to go to the parent directory of the current directory.
cdup SFTP Client view
Use the cdup command to return the current path on the remote SFTP server to the upper directory.
check region-configuration MST region view
Use the check region-configuration command to display the current MST region configuration,
including region name, revision level, and VLAN mapping table.
checkzero RIP view
Use the checkzero command to enable zero field check of RIP-1 packets.

clock datetime User view
Use the clock datetime command to set the current date and time of the Ethernet switch.

Use the clock summer-time command to set the name and time range of the summer time.

Use the clock timezone command to set the local time zone.
Use the undo clock timezone command to restore the local time zone to the default UTC (universal time
coordinated) time zone.
close FTP client view
Use the close command to terminate an FTP connection without quitting FTP client view.
cluster System view
Use the cluster command to enter cluster view.
cluster enable System view
Use the cluster enable command to enable the cluster function on a switch.
Use the undo cluster enable command to disable the cluster function on a switch.
cluster switch-to User view
Use the cluster switch-to command to switch between the management device and member devices for
configuration and management.
cluster-mac Cluster view
Use the cluster-mac command to configure a multicast MAC address for the cluster.
Use the undo cluster-mac command to restore the default multicast MAC address.
cluster-mac syn-interval Cluster view
Use the cluster-mac syn-interval command to set the interval for the management device to send Switch
Clustering V2 multicast MAC synchronization packets periodically. You can only use this command on a
management device.
command-privilege level System view
Use the command-privilege level command to set the level of the specified command in a specified view.
Use the undo command-privilege view command to restore the level of the specified command in the
specified view to the default.
