POWER DIRECT-VENT DESIGN
ProMax SL Power Direct Vent residential gas models are equipped with FVIR
technology to meet Phase III of the ANSI Z21.10.1 standards for the resistance to
flammable vapor ignition and resistance to lint, dust and oil accumulation tests.
The Closed-combustion two-pipe system draws combustion air from outside
and vents outside the home. The system uses PVC, CPVC or ABS pipe and vents
up to 45 feet with 3" pipe, including one elbow.
SIDE-MOUNTED RECIRCULATING TAPS
For installation with combination space heating/potable water heating
applications (such as the ProMax XL Heat Exchanger) or any system requiring
a recirculating hot water loop.
INTELLI-VENT®GAS CONTROL
Equipped with silicon nitride hot surface igniter and advanced electronics for
precise control of water temperature and simplified system diagnostics.
HEAT TRAP NIPPLES
Standard on all models.
QUIET MODULAR BLOWER
With 110/120 Volt electrical system (rating 3 amps or less), with 6-foot cord, standard
3-prong male connector.
A. O. SMITH DYNACLEAN™DIFFUSER DIP TUBE
Reduces lime and sediment buildup, maximizes hot water output. Made from long-lasting PEX
cross-link polymer.
GREEN CHOICE™GAS BURNER
Patented “Eco-Friendly” design reduces NOx emissions by up to 33%, complies with Southern
California and Texas requirements.
MAGNESIUM ANODE RODS
Provides long-lasting protection against tank corrosion.
DURABLE TAMPER-RESISTANT BRASS DRAIN VALVE

Protects steel tank from rust.

IMPORTANT: VENTING AND COMBUSTION AIR REQUIREMENTS
Read and follow requirements shown in the Installation Manual for ProMax®Power
Direct-Vent Gas water heaters dealing with type, placement and length of vent pipe
and vent termination, as well as clearances required to provide adequate
combustion and proper ventilation.
OPTIONAL CIRCULATING LOOP CONNECTION ASSEMBLIES
Sold separately. Kit Number 900152-2 includes two extended PEX lined nipples for side
port connections. Kit Number 900260-4 is same as 900152-2, plus two
di-electric unions and 2 brass isolation valves. For use with systems that have a check
valve in the air handler or recirculating lines.
