EWR RPO/BASIC 1 Identification
1 Identification
The gas monitoring system EWR RPO/BASIC is used in industry and in the
trade for regulating the gas supply in MIG/MAG and TIG inert gas welding.
These operating instructions only describe the gas monitoring system
EWR RPO/BASIC. The gas monitoring system EWR RPO/BASIC may only
be operated using original ABICOR BINZEL spare parts.

1.2 Responsibilities of the User
Within the EEA (European Economic Area), the current version of the national
implementation of the Framework Directive (89/391/EEC) and the related
individual directives and, of these, especially Directive (89/655/EEC)
concerning the minimum safety and health requirements for the use of work
equipment by workers at work must be adhered to. In Germany, the Labor
Protection Law and the Company Safety Ordinance must be heeded. In
addition, the operator must ensure that the welding torch and welding unit
comply with the EC EMC Directive (2004/108/EC) and that the signal
utilisation of the integrated welding current monitoring against stray currents is
installed properly.

2 Product description
2.1 Designated use
The gas monitoring system EWR RPO/BASIC must be used for manual
welding and also for automatic use. It forms part of the welding system and
may only be operated in it. Designated use also includes the observance of the
prescribed operating, maintenance and servicing instructions.
2.2 Use contrary to the designated use
Any use other than that described under "Designated Use" is considered
contrary to the designated use. Unauthorised conversions or power increase
modifications are not allowed.

4 Scope of delivery
Order the equipment parts and wear parts separately. Order data and ID
numbers for the equipment parts and wear parts can be found in the current

4.1 Transport
The scope of delivery is carefully checked and packaged, however damage
may occur during shipping.
