Clean
the bodyworkbefore fitting the bikecarrier which
is
fitted with protective foam
pads,
this will help
to
avoid
scratches,
further protection for
car
paintwork may
be
required.

Position the Carrier on the rear
of
yourvehicle and fit the two hooks
of
the upperstraps onto the
top
edge
of
the
boot
lid,hatch or door,tighten the straps
in
order to hold the
Bike
Carrier
in
place.

straps
should always be attached to metal parts
of
thevehicle, never to
glass
hatch
backs,
rubber
seals,
thin plastic
bumpers ortrim.
Adjustthecarrier
arms
as
shown
in
(Diag.4)
and
(Diag.5),
the
arms
should beangled slightly upward about
15
degrees
(Diag.4).
When the
arms
have been adjusted to the correctangle,tighten the plastic knobs securely
(Diag.5).
Attach the lower
straps
to
the lower edge
of
the bootlid,hatch,dooror
secure
position on thevehicle bodywork,
tow
bar
or
chassis(
use
"S"
hooks
if
necessary(Diag.3)) and tighten equally.
The
straps must
be
as
straight
as
possible and nottwisted,progressively tighten
each
strap alternately and equally,
ensuring
the
carrier
is
firmlyand centrally positioned.
Adjust the straps to position the carrier ensuring thatthe rubber pads
are
firmly in contact with thevehicle bodywork.
Avoid placing these feet on large orunsupported
panels,
or
areas
of
bodywork,which
may
be liable to damage dueto
the pressure applied bythe loaded carrier.
Check and tighten all straps again -Fit the cycle protection pads in suitable positions.
PLACING
YOUR
CYCLE
ON
YOUR
CARRIER
When placing the bikes
(max.
of
3)
ontothe carrier support
arms,
place them in oppositedirections.Avoid positioning
them directly next
to
the vehicle exhaust.
Secure
bikes
to
the carrier with suitable ties or
straps
(notprovided),ensuring thattheydo notcome into contactwith
the vehicle bodywork.
Pads
are
provided
to
protectthe bikes from rubbing against thecycle carrier.
After placing the bikes on the carrier, re-tension all the straps and tie
off
the surplus lengths
of
strap atthe
base
of
the
buckles forextra securityand
to
preventthe loose
ends
flapping.
Remember :
The
driver
of
thevehicle
is
responsible forthe securityand safety
of
the load carried,check frequently
during yourjourney.
