GENERAL INFORMATION
INTRODUCTION
Please read and understand all instructions in this manual carefully and thoroughly before attempting
to operate these products. These instructions contain important safety and use information.
UNPACKING
The products in this kit have been thoroughly tested and have been shipped in perfect operating
condition. Carefully check the shipping carton for damage that may have occurred during shipping.
If the carton appears to be damaged, carefully inspect each unit included for damage and be sure all
accessories necessary to operate the units have arrived intact. In the event damage has been found
or parts are missing, please contact our customer support team for further instructions. Please do not
return this kit to your dealer without rst contacting customer support at the number listed below. Please
do not discard the shipping carton in the trash. Please recycle whenever possible.
WARRANTY RETURNS
All returned service items whether under warranty or not, must be freight pre-paid and accompany a
return authorization (R.A.) number. The R.A. number must be clearly written on the outside of the return
package. A brief description of the problem as well as the R.A. number must also be written down on
a piece of paper and included in the shipping container. If the unit is under warranty, you must provide
a copy of your proof of purchase invoice. Items returned without a R.A. number clearly marked on the
outside of the package will be refused and returned at customer’s expense. You may obtain a R.A.
number by contacting customer support.

LIMITED WARRANTY (USA ONLY)
A. ADJ Products, LLC hereby warrants, to the original purchaser, ADJ Products, LLC products to be free of manufacturing
defects in material and workmanship for a prescribed period from the date of purchase (see specic warranty period
on reverse). This warranty shall be valid only if the product is purchased within the United States of America, including
possessions and territories. It is the owner’s responsibility to establish the date and place of purchase by acceptable
evidence, at the time service is sought.
B. For warranty service, you must obtain a Return Authorization number (RA#) before sending back the product-please
contact ADJ Products, LLC Service Department at 800-322-6337. Send the product only to the ADJ Products, LLC
factory. All shipping charges must be pre-paid. If the requested repairs or service (including parts replacement) are
within the terms of this warranty, ADJ Products, LLC will pay return shipping charges only to a designated point within
the United States. If the entire instrument is sent, it must be shipped in its original package. No accessories should be
shipped with the product. If any accessories are shipped with the product, ADJ Products, LLC shall have no liability
whatsoever for loss of or damage to any such accessories, or for the safe return thereof.
C. This warranty is void of the serial number has been altered or removed; if the product is modied in any manner which
ADJ Products, LLC concludes, after inspection, affects the reliability of the product, if the product has been repaired or
service by anyone other than ADJ Products, LLC factory unless prior written authorization was issued to purchaser by
ADJ Products, LLC; if the product is damaged because not properly maintained as set forth in the instruction manual.
D. This is not a service contact, and this warranty does not include maintenance, cleaning or periodic check up. During
the period specied above, ADJ Products, LLC will replace defective parts at its expense with new or refurbished parts,
and will absorb all expenses for warrant service and repair labor by reason of defects in material or workmanship. The
sole responsibility of ADJ Products, LLC under this warranty shall be limited to the repair of the product, or replacement
thereof, including parts, at the sole discretion of ADJ Products, LLC. All products covered by this warranty were
manufactured after August 15, 2012, and bear identifying marks to that effect.
E. ADJ Products, LLC reserves the right to make changes in design and/or improvements upon its products without any
obligation to include these changes in any products theretofore manufactured.
F. No warranty, whether expressed or implied, is given or made with respect to any accessory supplied with products
described above. Except to the extent prohibited by applicable law, all implied warranties made by ADJ Products, LLC
in connection with this product, including warranties of merchantability or tness, are limited in duration to the warranty
period set forth above. And no warranties, whether expressed or implied, including warranties of merchantability or
tness, shall apply to this product after said period has expired. The consumer’s and/or Dealer’s sole remedy shall be
such repair or replacement as is expressly provided above; and under no circumstances shall ADJ Products, LLC be
liable for any loss or damage, direct or consequential, arising out of the use of, or inability to use, this product.
G. This warranty is the only written warranty applicable to ADJ Products, LLC Products and supersedes all prior warranties
and written descriptions of warranty terms and conditions heretofore published.

IP NOTICE
IP65 RATED
An IP rated lighting xture is one, which is commonly installed in outdoor environments and has been
designed with an enclosure that effectively protects the ingress (entry) of external foreign objects such
as dust and water. The International Protection (IP) rating system is commonly expressed as “IP”
(Ingress Protection) followed by two numbers (i.e. IP65) where the numbers dene the degree of pro-
tection. The rst digit (Foreign Bodies Protection) indicates the extent of protection against particles
entering the xture and the second digit (Water Protection) indicates the extent of protection against
water entering the xture. An IP65 rated lighting xture is one, which has been designed and tested to
protect against the ingress of dust (6) and low-pressure water jets from any direction (5).
MARINE/COASTAL ENVIRONMENT INSTALLATIONS
NOT suitable for marine and/or coastal environment installations. Installing this x-
ture in a marine and/or coastal environment may cause corrosion and/ or excessive
wear to the interior and/or exterior components of the xture. Damages and/or per-
formance issues resulting from installation in a marine
and/or coastal environment will void the manufactures warranty and will NOT be
subject to any warranty claims and/or repairs.

To guarantee a smooth operation, it is important to follow all instructions and guidelines in this manual.
ADJ PRODUCTS LLC is not responsible for injury and/or damages resulting from the misuse of these
devices due to the disregard of the information printed in this manual. Only qualied and/or certied
personnel should perform installation of these devices and only the original rigging parts included with
these devices should be used for installation. Any modications to these devices and/or the included
mounting hardware will void the original manufactures warranty and increase the risk of damage and/
or personal injury.

SAFETY GUIDELINES
DO NOT position devices close to any FLAMMABLE MATERIALS while operating.
DO NOT attempt installation and/or operation of devices without knowledge how to do so.
DO NOT permit operation by persons who are not qualied to operate these types of devices.
DO NOT shake devices, avoid brute force when installing and/or operating.
DO NOT operate these devices if the main power cord has become frayed, crimped and/or damaged.
Replace any damaged power cords with a similar power rating.
DO NOT remove or break-off the ground plug from the device power cords.
DO NOT remove disassemble devices, there are NO user serviceable parts inside.
ALWAYS disconnect devices from main power source before performing any cleaning.

Power cords should be safely routed and secured so they are not likely pinched.

Use the original packaging and materials to transport these devices in for service.
These devices should be serviced by qualied service personnel when:

• Objects have fallen on and/or liquid has spilled into the devices.
• The devices have been exposed to rain and/or moisture.
• The devices do not operate normally or exhibit a marked change in performance.

POTENTIAL INTERNAL FIXTURE DAMAGE FROM EXTERNAL SOURCES OF LIGHT BEAMS
External sources of light beams from direct sunlight, lighting moving head xtures, and lasers, which
are focused directly towards the exterior housing and/or penetrate the front lens opening of ADJ lighting
xtures, can cause severe internal damage including burning to optics, dichroic color lters, glass
and metal gobos, prisms, animation wheels, frost lters, iris, shutters, motors, belts, wiring, discharge
lamps, and LEDs.
This issue is not specic only to ADJ lighting xtures, it is a common issue with lighting xtures from all
manufacturers. Although there is no true way to fully prevent this issue from happening, the guidelines
below can prevent any potential damage from occurring if followed. Contact ADJ Service for more
details.
DO NOT EXPOSE THE FIXTURE AND/OR FRONT LENS OPENING TO LIGHT BEAMS FROM
DIRECT SUNLIGHT, OTHER LIGHTING MOVING HEAD FIXTURES, AND LASERS WHILE
UNPACKING, INSTALLATION, USE, AND EXTENDED IDLE TIMES OUTDOORS.
DO NOT FOCUS A LIGHT BEAM FROM ONE LIGHTING FIXTURE DIRECTLY TOWARDSANOTHER.

MAINTENANCE GUIDELINES
DISCONNECT POWER BEFORE PERFORMING ANY MAINTENANCE!
CLEANING
Frequent cleaning is recommended to insure proper function, optimized light output, and an extended
life. The frequency of cleaning depends on the environment in which the xture operates: damp, smoky
or particularly dirty environments can cause greater accumulation of dirt on the xture’s optics. Clean
the external lens surface at least every 20 days with a soft cloth to avoid dirt/debris accumulation.
NEVER use alcohol, solvents, or ammonia-based cleaners.
MAINTENANCE
Regular inspections are recommended to insure proper function and extended life.
There are no user serviceable parts inside this xture, please refer all other service issues to an
authorized Elation service technician. Should you need any spare parts, please order genuine parts
from your local Elation dealer.
Please refer to the following points during routine inspections:
A detailed electric check by an approved electrical engineer every three months, to make sure the
circuit contacts are in good condition and prevent overheating.
Be sure all screws and fasteners are always securely tightened. Lose screws may fall out during normal
operation resulting in damage or injury as larger parts could fall.
Check for any deformations on the housing, color lenses, rigging hardware and rigging points (ceiling,
suspension, trussing). Deformations in the housing could allow for dust to enter the xture. Damaged
rigging points or unsecured rigging could cause the xture to fall and seriously injure a person(s).
Electric power supply cables must not show any damage, material fatigue or sediments. NEVER remove
the ground prong from the power cable.

Insert the Omega Brackets into the matching holes on the bottom of the fixture. Secure the
Omega Brackets to the fixture by turning each quick-lock fastener ¼ turn clockwise; making
sure the fastener is completely locked.

FIXTURE INSTALLATION
Screw one clamp via a M12 screw and nut into the Omega Bracket. Insert the quick-lock fasteners of the
Omega Bracket into the respective holes of the xture base plate. NOTE: The clamp must be attached
to the Omega Bracket before attaching the bracket to the xture. Tighten the quick-lock fasteners
fully clockwise. Pull the safety-cable through the opening located on the bottom of the unit and over the
trussing system or a safe xation spot. Insert the end in the carabiner, and tighten the safety screw.

FIXTURE INSTALLATION
When installing the unit, the trussing or area of installation must be able to hold 10 times the weight
without any deformation. When installing the unit must be secured with a secondary safety attachment,
e.g. and appropriate safety cable. Never stand directly below the unit when mounting, removing, or
servicing the unit.
Overhead mounting requires extensive experience, including calculating working load limits, installation
material being used, and periodic safety inspection of all installation material and unit. If you lack these
qualications, do not attempt the installation yourself.
These installations should be checked by a skilled person once a year.

The Hydro Wash X7 is fully operational in three different mounting positions, hanging upside-down,
mounted sideways on trussing, or set on a at level surface. Always use and install a safety cable as a
safety measure to prevent accidental damage and/or injury in the event the clamp fails. Never use the
carrying handles for secondary attachment.

DMX SETUP
DMX-512:
DMX is short for Digital Multiplex. This is a universal protocol used as a form of communication between
intelligent xtures and controllers. A DMX controller sends DMX data instructions from the controller to
the xture. DMX data is sent as serial data that travels from xture to xture via the DATA “IN” and DATA
“OUT” XLR terminals located on all DMX xtures (most controllers only have a DATA “OUT” terminal).
DMX Linking:
DMX is a language allowing all makes and models of different manufactures to be linked together
and operate from a single controller, as long as all xtures and the controller are DMX compliant. To
ensure proper DMX data transmission, when using several DMX xtures try to use the shortest cable
path possible. The order in which xtures are connected in a DMX line does not inuence the DMX
addressing. For example; a xture assigned a DMX address of 1 may be placed anywhere in a DMX
line, at the beginning, at the end, or anywhere in the middle. When a xture is assigned a DMX address
of 1, the DMX controller knows to send DATA assigned to address 1 to that unit, no matter where it is
located in the DMX chain.
DATA CABLE (DMX CABLE) REQUIREMENTS (FOR DMX AND PRIMARY/SECONDARY
OPERATION):
The Hydro Wash X7 can be controlled via DMX-512 protocol. Your unit and your DMX controller requires
a 5-pin XLR connector for data input and data output. We recommend Accu-Cable DMX cables. If you
are making your own cables, be sure to use
standard 110-120 Ohm shielded cable (This cable may be purchased at almost all pro lighting stores).
Your cables should be made with a male and female XLR connector on either end of the cable. Also
remember that DMX cable must be daisy chained and cannot be split.
TO MAINTAIN IP65 RATING INTEGRITY AND PREVENT WATER FROM ENTERING THE FIXTURE,
ALL UNUSED CONNECTION RUBBER CAPS MUST BE SEALED AND ONLY IP65 RATED POWER
AND DATE CABLES MUST BE USED.
Notice: Be sure to follow gures two and three when making your own cables. Do not use the ground
lug on the XLR connector. Do not connect the cable’s shield conductor to the ground lug or allow the
shield conductor to come in contact with the XLR’s outer casing. Grounding the shield could cause a
short circuit and erratic behavior.

DMX SETUP
SPECIAL NOTE: LINE TERMINATION
When longer runs of cable are used, you may need to use a terminator on the last unit to avoid erratic
behavior. A terminator is a 110-120 ohm 1/4 watt resistor, which is connected between pins 2 and
3 of a male XLR connector (DATA + and DATA -). This unit is inserted in the female XLR connector
of the last unit in your daisy chain to terminate the line. Using a cable terminator (ADJ part number
Z-DMX/T) will decrease the possibilities of erratic behavior.
5-Pin XLR DMX Connectors. Some manufactures use 5-pin DMX-512 data cables for DATAtransmission
in place of 3-pin. 5-pin DMX xtures may be implemented in a 3-pin DMX line. When inserting standard
5-pin data cables in to a 3-pin line a cable adapter must be used, these adapters are readily available
at most electric stores. The chart below details a proper cable conversion.

DMX ADDRESSING
All xtures should be given a DMX starting address when using a DMX controller, so the correct xture
responds to the correct control signal. This digital starting address is the channel number from which
the xture starts to “listen” to the digital control signal sent out from the DMX controller. The assignment
of this starting DMX address is achieved by setting the correct DMX address on the digital control
display on the xture.
You can set the same starting address for all xtures or a group of xtures, or set different addresses for
each individual xture. Setting all xtures to the same DMX address will cause all xtures to react in the
same way, in other words, changing the settings of one channel will affect all the xtures simultaneously.
If you set each xture to a different DMX address, each unit will start to “listen” to the channel number
you have set, based on the quantity of DMX channels of each xture. That means changing the settings
of one channel will only affect the selected xture.
In the case of the Hydro Wash X7, when in 15 Channel you should set the starting DMX address of
the rst unit to 1, the second unit to 16 (15 + 1), the third unit to 31 (16 + 15), and so on. (See the chart
below for more details.)

SYSTEM MENU
The xture includes an easy to navigate system menu control panel display where all necessary
settings and adjustments are made. (See image below) During normal operation, pressing the MENU
button once will access the xture’s main menu. Once in the main menu, you can navigate through the
different functions and access the sub-menus with the UP and DOWN buttons. When you reach a eld
that requires adjusting, press the ENTER button to access that eld and use the UP and DOWN buttons
to adjust the eld. Pressing the ENTER button once more will conrm your setting. You may exit the
main menu at any time without making any adjustments by pressing the MENU button.
SYSTEM LOCK/UNLOCK: When the display lock function is activated, the display and system menu
will lock after 10 seconds of no activity. To UNLOCK the display, press and HOLD the MENU button for
10+ seconds.
While pressing the MENU button, a timer will appear at the bottom of the display indicating the pass-
ing seconds from 0-9. Once the timer reaches 9 seconds, the display will unlock allowing access to the
system menu.
DO NOT RELEASE THE MENU BUTTON UNTIL THE DISPLAY IS UNLOCKED.
If the MENU button is released before the timer reaches 9 seconds and/or is unlocked, the display will
not unlock and the time will be reset.
NOTE: The timer will not appear in the display if the lock function is disabled.
