Connecting Your Electric AGA
(eR7 & R7 Models)

Your new AGA has now been delivered to site and is now ready for connection to your electricity
supply. All of our pre-assembled appliances are fully factory tested and only require the final
connection to be made by a competent person.
Electrician Notes
The appliance has been fully tested to BS/EN 60335 (Annex A routine testing) prior to leaving the
factory.
The final connection can be made to a 32 amp supply ensuring all the relevant mandatory tests are
undertaken following the connection.
IT IS IMPORTANT THAT THE COMPETENT ENGINEER HAS ACCESS TO THE PRODUCT
INSTRUCTIONS SUPPLIED. THESE MUST BE MADE AVAILABLE TO ENSURE THAT
THE APPLIANCE IS CONNECTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH MANUFACTURER
REQUIREMENTS AND REGULATIONS.
Prior to testing the operation of the product the following points should be checked
All protective coverings are removed from the oven furniture, doors, side panels and boiling/
simmering spot lids.
All documents / pans / trays are removed from ovens
Once all the above checks have been carried out the appliance can be operated.
Getting Started
The AGA cooker will emit an odour for a short while; this is simply due to the protective oil we put on
the hotplates and ovens burning off. The time the odour takes to burn off can differ depending on the
usage of the appliance and the site conditions. During this period we recommend that the hot spot
insulation lids are raised for approximately two hours to prevent staining of the lid liners.
We would recommend that any windows in the kitchen are opened whilst this initial operation of the
appliance takes place.
Condensation may occur on the top and front plate whilst the AGA cooker is heating up during the
initial operation; this is caused by the insulation lagging and the protective coating on the element
drying out. If any condensation is evident it should be wiped away as soon as possible to prevent
staining. This should be monitored by the customer for approximately five hours.

Your AGA eR7 is operated by touch sensitive buttons and should be checked following connection to
the electrical supply.

R7 Appliance
Your R7 AGA is operated by the use of a user control panel pictured below. All ovens are operated by
the lower control knob on the panel. The hotplates are operated by the upper control knob.
