2Functionality
The gatewaysarebasingpoints inthe localizationnetwork.Furthermore theyare the interface
betweenthe ITinfrastructure (e.g. Ethernet)andthe wireless localizationnetwork.The ITinfra-
structure isusedfor the exchange oflocalizationinformationandapplicationspecificdatabe-
tweenthe wireless localizationnetworkandthe localizationserver.The use ofseveralgatewaysis
recommendedinlargerlocalizationnetworks for largeramountofmobile tagsandhighest availa-
bilityofpositioninformation.

4Initial operation and installation
1. The antenna(P3)must be attachedtothe RP-SMA-connectionatthe WIRELESS module.
Warning:Dooperate the WIRELESS Module without antennaconnected. While changingor
removingantennaswitchthe device off or remove powercable.
Notice:The antennasshould be justifiedinsame directiononall WIRELESS modules.
Notice:The WIRELESS modulesshould be placedline ofsight andinahighpositionfor op-
timisedwireless datatransmission.
2. Setup powerconnection(P1).Duringstart-up all LED’s are flashingonce.The power-LED
(D2)keeps onlighting.
3. The WIRELESS modulesmust be protectedagainst humidity.

oderEntfernenderAntenne ist dasGerät auszuschaltenbzw. stromloszu schalten.
Hinweis: Die AntennensolltenanallenWIRELESS-Modulengleichausgerichtetsein.
Hinweis: Umeine optimale Übertragungzu ermöglichen, solltendie WIRELESS-Module mög-
lichst weitobenangebracht werdenundSichtverbindunghaben.
2. Anschluss derStromversorgungandenPower-Eingang(P1).DabeileuchtenalleLEDs initial
auf.Die Power-LED(D2)leuchtetpermanent.
