1. Introduction
The ISO reader module AIR200 is designed as an integrated reader head for the handheld
computer Workabout PRO M/C by PSION TEKLOGIX. It combines the reading of ISO
transponders with the Windows CE software of the PSION®-workabout PRO. Together with the
external antenna AEA080 from Agrident, the reading of bolus or ear tags is much more
convenient. The AIR200 is compatible to ISO 11784/5. It reads HDX and FDX-B transponders
also as H4002 compatible transponders.
To install the AIR200 module in a Workabout PRO handheld, please follow the instructions
below.

3. Installation
3.1 Installation of the AIR200 reader
1.
TheAIR 200 mounting set consists of 2 screws
with washer and an adapter board with 4
screws.

Remove the pen.

Pull out the 4 screws on top

and the 6 screws on the back.
5.
Push the SW1401 switch in position OFF.
6.
Remove the cover from the battery room by
unlocking the screws.
7.
Remove the battery.
8.
Put in the adapter board as shown above.

9.
Fix the adapter board with the 4 added screws.
10.
Push the SW1401 switch in position ON,
again.

Now stick the AIR 200 reader to the Workabout
PRO, as shown

and fix it with the 2 added washers and
screws.
13.
Fix the 4 screws on top.
14.
Mount the back plate with the 6 screws.

Put in the battery and close the battery room

by bolting the cover with the screws.
17.
Push the pen back in its holder.
18.
Keep the Workabout's head cover, in case that
you might need it.
Please follow the instructions of the protocol,
before you start a read.

3.2 Installation of the AEA080 antenna
1.
The stick antenna AEA080 can easily be fixed
to the reader by a so called Binder plug.
2.
Screw the silver cap off from the socket.
3.
Put the Binder plug of the stick antenna in the
socket of the AIR200 reader.
4.
Pay attention to the groove.
5.
Follow the instructions of your Workabout PRO,
to start a read.

4. Safety and care
The manufacturer accepts no liability for damage resulting from improper use or use not
consistent with that described in these operating instructions.
•The AIR accessories contain no parts that can be repaired by the user. For this reason it
may only be repaired by authorised customer service personnel.
•In both operation and storage of the antenna please secure to comply with the environment
conditions specified in the technical data.
•Clean the AIR accessories only with a damp cloth. Use only water and any commercially
available cleaning agent.
Any modification to the AIR accessories will render the warranty null and void.
5. Warranty
The manufacturer of the AIR accessories will provide a warranty of
12 months
from the day the device is shipped and subject to the following conditions:
a. Without submission of proof of purchase no warranty can be given.
b. In the event that defects are detected the manufacturer is entitled to choose between up to
two attempts at repair or supplying a replacement device on one occasion. The warranty
period for the repaired item or for a replacement item is 3 months but will always extend to
the end of the original warranty period. No further claims can be entertained, especially
claims for compensation for consequential losses. This exclusion of liability does not apply to
claims made on the basis of the Product Liability Act.
c. Warranty claims cannot be entertained unless the Agrident system was installed properly
and used properly and for the purpose intended.
No warranty obligations exist in particular when:
1. Damage is attributable to improper use of the device, to a incorrect connection or incorrect
operator action;
2. The device was not cared for and maintained in accordance with the manufacturer's
recommendations and this is the cause of the damage;
3. The damage is due to any modification to the device;
4. The damage is due to force majeure, for example, lightning strike;
5. The damage is due to wear resulting from overstressing mechanical parts.

6. FCC digital device limitations
Radio and Television Interference
This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a digital device,
pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable
protection against harmful interference when the equipment is operated in a commercial
environment. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if
not installed and used in accordance with the instruction manual, may cause harmful
interference to radio communications. Operation of this equipment in a residential area is likely
to cause harmful interference, in which case the user will be required to correct the interference
at his own expense.
This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC rules. Operation is subject to the following two
conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept
any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.
In order to maintain compliance with FCC regulations, shielded cables must be used with this
equipment. Operation with non-approved equipment or unshielded cables is likely to result in
interference to radio and television reception.
Caution! Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the manufacturer could void the
user’s authority to operate this equipment.
7. CANADIAN RADIO EMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS
This digital apparatus does not exceed the Class A limits for radio noise emissions from digital
apparatus set out in the Radio Interference Regulations of the Canadian Department of
Communications.

This device has been designed to operate with the antennas listed below, and having a
maximum gain of 1.8 dB. Antennas not included in this list or having a gain greater than 1.8 dB
are strictly prohibited for use with this device. The required antenna impedance is 2.8 ohms.

To reduce potential radio interference to other users, the antenna type and its gain should be so
chosen that the equivalent isotropically radiated power (e.i.r.p.) is not more than that permitted
for successful communication.
8. CE MARKING
Hereby, Agrident BV declares that this equipment, if used according to the instructions, is in
compliance with the essential requirements and other relevant provisions of the RTTE Directive
1999/5/EC. For use in all countries of the EU.
