THR9 Ex - Safety Instructions
•
The battery must not be replaced inside dust-hazardous locations
•
An additional or spare battery must not be carried in dust-hazardous locations
Accessories are not covered by the certificate and must have their own ATEX/
IEC-Ex certificate!
Accessories i.e. battery chargers that are connected to the THR9 Ex must only be
connected to a supply circuit that has a maximum prospective short circuit current
of 35 A a.c. or less.
The value Um = 60V (also 35A for current) is valid for all connections of the device
outside the hazardous area.
For connections outside the hazardous areas, the standards EN 60079-14,
item 12.2.1 or IEC 60079-14, Edition 5.0, item 16.2.1 must be observed when
installing/connecting the device:
•
Establish the connection in a PELV (Protective Extra Low Voltage) or SELV
(Safety Extra Low Voltage)
•
Use an isolating transformer according to the requirements of IEC 61558-2-6,
or a technically equivalent standard
•
Establish a direct connection to a device according to the IEC 60950 series,
IEC 61010-1, or a technically equivalent standard
•
Establish direct cell or battery supply
To obtain safety and guarantee the THR9 Ex, the device is only permitted to be
operated with appropriate Airbus accessories and to be charged in the safe area
using the special appropriate Airbus chargers.
