SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
CAUTION
TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK, EXCESSIVE RADIATION EXPOSURE OR INJURY:
1. Do not look at the light source switched on without the envelope.
2. Installation must be performed by qualified team.
3. Do not attempt to modify/repair your Crystal Pixel by yourself: all repairs must be performed by an Airstar authorized
technician only.
4. Always unplug your product and allow 15 minutes to cool before servicing.
5. Do not use your product with a damaged envelope or without an envelope.
6. Do not use your product with damaged electronic components or missing parts.
7. Do not use your stand-mounted product on an uneven surface or floor with a slope of > 8°.
8. Do not use your product if the wind speed exceeds the recommendations (see Technical Data).
9. Airstar strongly recommends the use of referenced stands.
10. Be aware of local weather conditions and changes, especially wind speed. Adjust the height of the stand accordingly.
11. Use only extension cords and outlets that allow the luminaire to be grounded.
12. A ground fault circuit interrupter must be provided on the circuit or outlet for use in a humid environment.
KEEP ALL THESE INSTRUCTIONS WITH YOUR PRODUCT
PRECAUTIONARY PRINCIPLES
1. When not in use, cover the envelope when the balloon remains deflated on site.
2. Store your Crystal Pixel in a dry, ventilated area away from heat sources and chemicals.
3. Make sure the envelope is completely dry before storing.
4. Do not use chemical solvents to clean the envelope. Use mild soap and water if necessary.
5. Protect the envelope by operating away from walls, projectiles, electrical wires, trees, animals, etc.
6. Do not modify the electrical components or structure of the unit.
7. Do not use your Crystal Pixel if the power cord is damaged, twisted or tangled.
8. Never plug/unplug the harness while the product is powered on.
9. Always operate the product with a filter that is as clean as possible and not clogged, changing the color or appearance of the filter
requires cleaning. Poor air intake increases the temperature of the air inside and shortens the life of the electronic components.
10. Care should be taken when handling the product when stored in its original packaging. Be careful not to drop the product under
its own weight when loading or unloading.
11. Any damaged or torn container must be replaced.
FAILURE TO FOLLOW ONE OR MORE OF THESE RECOMMENDATIONS WILL RESULT
IN THE LOSS OF THE PRODUCT WARRANTY

INSTALLING A CRYSTAL PIXEL ON A STAND
Make sure there is enough space in the set-up area to allow the balloon to inflate and to prevent the product from tipping over
during inflation.
NOTE
•Always use Airstar approved stands designed to work with your Crystal Pixel.
•Always tighten all T-handles firmly to avoid injury.
•Stands are designed for vertical mounting of Crystal units ONLY. All other mounting systems not approved by Airstar are
subject to your responsibility in the event of a fall or accident and will result in loss of warranty.
P500TA
1. Unfold the stand.
2. Lock the base.
4. On the P500TA stand (Fig.4), slide the support legs from the folded position until the support bars are exactly horizontal.
6. On the P500TA stand (Fig. 4), sandbags should be placed on each horizontal bar.
Ballast bags on the stands are mandatory, for indoor or outdoor use. Airstar ballast bags (recommended) or other brands must
contain a minimum of 11.3 kg/25 lbs of the material of your choice (sand, metal bullets, etc.).
For weight requirements and/or guy ropes usage based on wind speed, follow the charts below:

The local control allows to define predefined light animations/ambiances, to set the DMX address, to modify some parameters such as
the type of LED stage (White or Dynamic White) or the speed of the inflation fan and to disable/enable the functions of the Airstar Mesh
network. The local control display is located below the service stage (3).
The interface is built in two menus:
•User mode: normal use and setting of animations
•Expert mode: modification of the product parameters and management of the network functions

DMX AND WDMX
DMX with the Crystal Pixel offers two main modes.
•Macro mode: for predefined animations/ambiances
•Pixel mode: the user can control the LED matrix as desired
MACRO MODE
•The Macro Mode allows you to produce many predefined and customizable animations.
•4 to 16 channels can be required depending on the balloon (White or Dynamic White) and the chosen animation.
•The Crystal Pixel are divided into 6 columns that allow fine tuning of the color animation. (Ch = channel)
•Crystal Pixel White
•Crystal Pixel Dynamic White

Crystal Pixel White & Crystal Pixel Dynamic White – User’s guide 10
•The mode and ambiance can be set according to the following scheme:
•Only the first 4 DMX channels are needed if you are not in Custom Ambiance or Color Temperature Ambiance.
•In Color Temperature Ambiance, the color temperature of the whole product can be adjusted via a 5th channel: 4 channels +
cWC1, for color temperature selection, are needed.
•In Custom Ambiance, the 6 colors of the column can be adjusted: 10 to 16 channels are required depending on the type of LED.
PIXEL MODE
•In this mode, you can create the matrix you want. The overall brightness can be adjusted with a dedicated channel. (Ch = channel)
•Crystal Pixel White
•Crystal Pixel Dynamic White

Crystal Pixel White & Crystal Pixel Dynamic White – User’s guide 11
WIRELESS DMX (WDMX) OPTION
•The Crystal Pixel with WDMX option integrates a W-DMX module from Wireless Solution. A Wireless Solution transmitter box is
required to use this feature with our product.
•The Wireless Solution transmitter has an interface to pair with the Crystal Pixel WDMX.
•The WDMX LED on the interface indicates the status of the WDMX link and the presence of DMX data.
•To unlink the WDMX, press the button for 4 seconds.
ATTENTION
Our WDMX products are assigned to our default transmitter. This is to prevent an unwanted transmitter from taking control of your
product. To assign your new product to your transmitter, you must manually unlink it (see Local Control section).
FAQ
If you encounter a synchronization problem with the pixel product in DMX (depending on your DMX console), we suggest a quick "black-
out" which will start the animation at the same time by the product.
