Trailer Overview
The scale works using sensors that measure air pressure changes
in the trailer’s suspension; it then converts those numbers into
weight.Theweightisdisplayedonthetrailerdisplayanddisplays
weightperaxlegroup.Weightsareaccuratetowithin300pounds
(140kilograms)andaredisplayedin20-poundor20-kilogram
increments.
The LoadMaxx Plus version enables drivers to view steer, drive,
trailer,GVW,andnetpayloadonanyLoadMaxxequippedtractor.

Installation Overview - Retrot
Therearethreemajorcomponentsofthetrailerscalethatyouwill
install to upgrade to the new LoadMaxx Plus or QuickLoad Plus:
• Trailerscaledisplay/mountingbracket
• Powerinterfacecable
• Use existing air line

Tools Required
Youwillneedthefollowingtoolstoinstallthetrailerscaleandairline:
• Standard wrench set or adjustable wrench
• Flush wire cutter
• Needle nose pliers
• Flat-bladescrewdriver
Mounting the Scale
Therearethreewaysyoucanmountthetrailerscale.You will use the
existing holes on the trailer rail for the new bracket and scale if
you are using the Van or Frame Rail bracket for install.

Mounting Flush to the Trailer
Aushmountedscaleismounteddirectlytothesideofthetrailer.
1. Removetheoldscale,youwillneedtoexpandtheportholesizes
forthenewscale.Makesurethebacksideofthelocationisfreeof
obstaclesanddebristhatwouldinterferewiththeinstallation.
2. Usethesuppliedtemplate(#904-0025)orholdthescaleinthe
locationyouwillmountitforreferenceandcutaholelargeenough
tottheportconnectionsontheback.
Atthispoint,determinewhetheryouwanttoconnectthepowertothe
displaybeforeorafteryousecureittothetrailer.Ifafter,proceedtostep
6beforecompletingsteps3-5.Referencechartonpg.5forconnecting
powertothescale.
3. Feedthepowercablestothebackofthetrailerdisplayfrombelow
theedgeofthetrailerorthroughthepreviouslycuthole.
4. Removethe1295ComLinkcable(onlyappliesifyouhaveaprior
modelthathada1295ComLink).Thiswillbereplacedwiththenew
interfacecable(#014-0350-101).
5. PlugthepowerinterfacecableintoPort1onthebackofscale
display.
6. Placethescaleoverthespaceyouhavepreparedonthetrailer,
makingsureportholesttheholeonthetrailer.Usetheprovided
bolts,rubberwashers(oneforeachfrontandbackofthescale)and
nutstosecurethescaletothesideofthetrailer.
7. ApplytheprovidedblueLoctitetoallthreadedboltstopreventbolts
frombackingout.
Note: The provided rubber washers are
required to dampen the vibration.
Note: Do not overtighten mounting bolts.
Torque to 10 inch lbs or 1.1 Nm.

1. Removetheoldscaleandbracket.
2. Securethescaletothebracketbyusingtheprovidedboltsand
rubberwashers.Insertoneboltandwasheroneachsideof
thescalethrougheachofthescalewingholes.Applyprovided
blueLoctiteonthreadedbolts.
Atthispoint,determinewhetheryouwanttoconnectthepowertothe
displaybeforeorafteryousecurethebrackettothetrailer.Ifafter,
proceedtostep4beforecompletingstep3.Referencechartonpg.5
forconnectingpowertothescale.
3. Removethe1295ComLinkcable(onlyappliesifyouhavea
priormodelthathada1295ComLink).Thiswillbereplaced
withthenewinterfacecable(#014-0350-101).Plugthepower
interfacecableintoPort1onthebackofthescale.
4. Securethebrackettothetrailersurfaceusingtheexisting
holesfromthepreviousbracket.Applytheprovidedblue
Loctitetoallthreadedboltsbeforeplacingthroughthebracket
andsecuringtothetrailer,topreventboltsfrombackingout.
Do not overtighten mounting bolts. Torque to 6 inch lbs or .68 Nm.

Alarm Installation
Note: If you ordered the Alarm Cable with your scale, follow the below
instructions for install.
InserttheAlarmcableintoPort2onthebackofthescale.Thegray,sealed
wirefromthemainwiringharnessisthealarmcircuitoutput.Itcanbe
connectedtoanyself-groundedalarmdevicewithacurrentdrawof1.0
ampsorless.Thealarmoutputvoltagewillbethesameasthevehicle
voltage.Youmustinstallarelayforanydevicethatdrawsmorethan1.0
amps.Donotdisturbthesealedendofthewire
ifalarmisnotinstalled.
Whenusinganalarm,connectthealarmoutput
wire and the ground return wire to the desired
device.Ensurethatanyunusedalarmwiresare
electricallyinsulated.
IMPORTANT: Leave the dummy plug in Port 2 installed if you are not
installing an alarm cable.
Installing the Air Line
1. Cuttheexistingairlinefromtheoldtrailerscale.
2. PlacethisairlineintoPortAofthenewtrailerscale.
Note:Ifyouareinstallingonafullordualtrailer,youwillusePortAand
PortB.Thesecondairlinewillcomefromanairbagcontrolledbythe
secondHCV.

Checking the Installation
Afteryounishinstallingyourscale,followthestepsbelowtomake
sureyouhaveinstalledthescalecorrectly.Thiswillpreventtheuser
fromrunningintoissueswhencalibratingandusingthescale.
1. Withpowertoyourtrailer,turnonyourscale.Ifthescaleiso,
touch the screen to wake it up
2. SelecttheimageofawrenchtogototheSetupmenu
3. Select the medical bag to go to Scale Diagnostics
4. PressthedownarrowuntilyouseeinformationonA/D
readings.Thescreenshouldshowanumber.Thatnumberis
yourA/Dreading.UsethetablebelowtodetermineifyourA/D
readingisappropriate.
Note:ForFullorDualHCVtrailers,youwillseetwosensorreadings
fromPortAandPortB.
5. IftheA/Dreadingsareappropriate,yourtrailerhasbeen
installedcorrectly.Iftheyareo,checkallconnectionsandmake
suretheyaresecurelyattached.Thenchecktheheightcontrol
valvetoseeifitislooseorbroken,whichcancauseinaccurate
A/Dreadings.

Limited Warranty
Air-Weighwarrants(the“LimitedWarranty”)thattheProductswillbefreefromdefectsin
materialandworkmanshipundernormaluseandservicewithpropermaintenanceforthe
followingtimeperiods:
(a)fornewScalekits,theLimitedWarrantyperiodwillbe3years;
(b)fornewpartsandaccessoriessoldseparately,theLimitedWarrantyperiodwill
be1year;and
(c)forrepairedorrefurbisheditems,includingrepairedorrefurbishedScalekits
andrepairedorrefurbishedpartsandaccessoriessoldseparately,theLimited
Warrantyperiodwillbe90days.
IfanyProductisdeterminedtonotconformtothisLimitedWarrantyduringitsapplicable
LimitedWarrantyperiod,Air-Weighwill,atitsexclusiveoption,eitherrepairorreplacethe
Product.
LimitationsofLimitedWarranty.Air-WeighwillhavenoobligationundertheLimited
Warrantywithrespecttoanyproductif(a)BuyerfailstonotifyAir-Weighinwritingduring
thewarrantyperiodofanon-conformity,or(b)Buyeroranyotherperson,entity,or
governmentalauthorityuses,misuses,orneglectstheproductinamannerinconsistent
withtheproduct’sspecicationsordirectionsforuseormaintenance,modiesthe
productorimproperlyinstalls,handles,ormaintainstheproduct.
No Repair or Modication of the products.Exceptasexplicitlyauthorizedorina
separatewrittenagreementwithAir-Weigh,Buyerwillnotservice,repair,modify,alter,
replace,reverseengineer,orotherwisechangeanyoftheproducts.

Procedure For Warranty Claims
ALLcustomersshouldrstcontactAir-WeighCustomerSupportDepartmentat
(888)459-3247forquestionsregardingtheuse,operation,repairorreturnofany
Air-Weighproduct.
IntheeventAir-WeighrequeststoexaminetheproductpriortodispositionORfor
repairorreplacement,Air-WeighrequiresaReturnMaterialAuthorization(RMA)
numberbeissuedbeforetheitemisreturned.CustomerSupportwillissuethe
RMAnumber.PleasereferencethisRMAnumberinallcorrespondence.

defectiveinmaterialorworkmanshipandwithinthewarrantyperiod,Air-Weighwill
repairorreplacethepartorassemblyandreturnfreightpre-paid.IntheeventAir-
Weighdeterminesthatthepartorassemblycannotberepairedorreplacedandis
withinthewarrantyperiod,acreditnottoexceedthepurchasepricewillbeissued
totheAir-Weighcustomer.
ForourcustomersusingpurchaseordersAir-Weighwillprocessacredit
memoandnotifythecustomerbyemailorfax.Thecustomerwillprocessa
correspondingdebitmemoandnotifyAir-Weighaccordingly.
IfthepartorassemblyreceivedbyAir-Weighdoesnotmeettherequirementsof
thewarrantyprogramsetforthabove,attheAir-Weighcustomer’srequestthe
partorassemblywilleitherbediscarded,returnedfreightcollect,orrepairedor
replacedattheAir-Weighcustomer’sexpenseandreturnedfreightcollect.
