Trailer Overview
The scale works using sensors that measure air pressure changes
in the trailer’s suspension; it then converts those numbers into
weight.Theweightisdisplayedonthetrailerdisplayanddisplays
weightperaxlegroup.Weightsareaccuratetowithin300pounds
(140kilograms)andaredisplayedin20-poundor20-kilogram
increments.
The LoadMaxx Plus version enables drivers to view steer, drive,
trailer,GVW,andnetpayloadonanyLoadMaxxequippedtractor.

Installation Overview - Retrot
Therearethreemajorcomponentsofthetrailerscalethatyouwill
install to upgrade to the new LoadMaxx Plus or QuickLoad Plus:
• Trailerscaledisplay/mountingbracket
• Powerinterfacecable
• Use existing air line

Tools Required
Youwillneedthefollowingtoolstoinstallthetrailerscaleandairline:
• Standard wrench set or adjustable wrench
• Flush wire cutter
• Needle nose pliers
• Flat-bladescrewdriver
Mounting the Scale
Therearethreewaysyoucanmountthetrailerscale.You will use the
existing holes on the trailer rail for the new bracket and scale if
you are using the Van or Frame Rail bracket for install.

Mounting Flush to the Trailer
Aushmountedscaleismounteddirectlytothesideofthetrailer.
1. Removetheoldscale,youwillneedtoexpandtheportholesizes
forthenewscale.Makesurethebacksideofthelocationisfreeof
obstaclesanddebristhatwouldinterferewiththeinstallation.
2. Usethesuppliedtemplate(#904-0025)orholdthescaleinthe
locationyouwillmountitforreferenceandcutaholelargeenough
tottheportconnectionsontheback.
Atthispoint,determinewhetheryouwanttoconnectthepowertothe
displaybeforeorafteryousecureittothetrailer.Ifafter,proceedtostep
6beforecompletingsteps3-5.Referencechartonpg.5forconnecting
powertothescale.
3. Feedthepowercablestothebackofthetrailerdisplayfrombelow
theedgeofthetrailerorthroughthepreviouslycuthole.
4. Removethe1295ComLinkcable(onlyappliesifyouhaveaprior
modelthathada1295ComLink).Thiswillbereplacedwiththenew
interfacecable(#014-0350-101).
5. PlugthepowerinterfacecableintoPort1onthebackofscale
display.
6. Placethescaleoverthespaceyouhavepreparedonthetrailer,
makingsureportholesttheholeonthetrailer.Usetheprovided
bolts,rubberwashers(oneforeachfrontandbackofthescale)and
nutstosecurethescaletothesideofthetrailer.
7. ApplytheprovidedblueLoctitetoallthreadedboltstopreventbolts
frombackingout.
Note: The provided rubber washers are
required to dampen the vibration.
Note: Do not overtighten mounting bolts.
Torque to 10 inch lbs or 1.1 Nm.

1. Removetheoldscaleandbracket.
2. Securethescaletothebracketbyusingtheprovidedboltsand
rubberwashers.Insertoneboltandwasheroneachsideof
thescalethrougheachofthescalewingholes.Applyprovided
blueLoctiteonthreadedbolts.
Atthispoint,determinewhetheryouwanttoconnectthepowertothe
displaybeforeorafteryousecurethebrackettothetrailer.Ifafter,
proceedtostep4beforecompletingstep3.Referencechartonpg.5
forconnectingpowertothescale.
3. Removethe1295ComLinkcable(onlyappliesifyouhavea
priormodelthathada1295ComLink).Thiswillbereplaced
withthenewinterfacecable(#014-0350-101).Plugthepower
interfacecableintoPort1onthebackofthescale.
4. Securethebrackettothetrailersurfaceusingtheexisting
holesfromthepreviousbracket.Applytheprovidedblue
Loctitetoallthreadedboltsbeforeplacingthroughthebracket
andsecuringtothetrailer,topreventboltsfrombackingout.
Do not overtighten mounting bolts. Torque to 6 inch lbs or .68 Nm.

Alarm Installation
Note: If you ordered the Alarm Cable with your scale, follow the below
instructions for install.
InserttheAlarmcableintoPort2onthebackofthescale.Thegray,sealed
wirefromthemainwiringharnessisthealarmcircuitoutput.Itcanbe
connectedtoanyself-groundedalarmdevicewithacurrentdrawof1.0
ampsorless.Thealarmoutputvoltagewillbethesameasthevehicle
voltage.Youmustinstallarelayforanydevicethatdrawsmorethan1.0
amps.Donotdisturbthesealedendofthewire
ifalarmisnotinstalled.
Whenusinganalarm,connectthealarmoutput
wire and the ground return wire to the desired
device.Ensurethatanyunusedalarmwiresare
electricallyinsulated.
IMPORTANT: Leave the dummy plug in Port 2 installed if you are not
installing an alarm cable.
Installing the Air Line
1. Cuttheexistingairlinefromtheoldtrailerscale.
2. PlacethisairlineintoPortAofthenewtrailerscale.
Note:Ifyouareinstallingonafullordualtrailer,youwillusePortAand
PortB.Thesecondairlinewillcomefromanairbagcontrolledbythe
secondHCV.

Checking the Installation
Afteryounishinstallingyourscale,followthestepsbelowtomake
sureyouhaveinstalledthescalecorrectly.Thiswillpreventtheuser
fromrunningintoissueswhencalibratingandusingthescale.
1. Withpowertoyourtrailer,turnonyourscale.Ifthescaleiso󰀨,
touch the screen to wake it up
2. SelecttheimageofawrenchtogototheSetupmenu
3. Select the medical bag to go to Scale Diagnostics
4. PressthedownarrowuntilyouseeinformationonA/D
readings.Thescreenshouldshowanumber.Thatnumberis
yourA/Dreading.UsethetablebelowtodetermineifyourA/D
readingisappropriate.
Note:ForFullorDualHCVtrailers,youwillseetwosensorreadings
fromPortAandPortB.
5. IftheA/Dreadingsareappropriate,yourtrailerhasbeen
installedcorrectly.Iftheyareo󰀨,checkallconnectionsandmake
suretheyaresecurelyattached.Thenchecktheheightcontrol
valvetoseeifitislooseorbroken,whichcancauseinaccurate
A/Dreadings.

Limited Warranty
Air-Weighwarrants(the“LimitedWarranty”)thattheProductswillbefreefromdefectsin
materialandworkmanshipundernormaluseandservicewithpropermaintenanceforthe
followingtimeperiods:
 (a)fornewScalekits,theLimitedWarrantyperiodwillbe3years;
 (b)fornewpartsandaccessoriessoldseparately,theLimitedWarrantyperiodwill
be1year;and
 (c)forrepairedorrefurbisheditems,includingrepairedorrefurbishedScalekits
andrepairedorrefurbishedpartsandaccessoriessoldseparately,theLimited
Warrantyperiodwillbe90days.
IfanyProductisdeterminedtonotconformtothisLimitedWarrantyduringitsapplicable
LimitedWarrantyperiod,Air-Weighwill,atitsexclusiveoption,eitherrepairorreplacethe
Product.
LimitationsofLimitedWarranty.Air-WeighwillhavenoobligationundertheLimited
Warrantywithrespecttoanyproductif(a)BuyerfailstonotifyAir-Weighinwritingduring
thewarrantyperiodofanon-conformity,or(b)Buyeroranyotherperson,entity,or
governmentalauthorityuses,misuses,orneglectstheproductinamannerinconsistent
withtheproduct’sspecicationsordirectionsforuseormaintenance,modiesthe
productorimproperlyinstalls,handles,ormaintainstheproduct.
No Repair or Modication of the products.Exceptasexplicitlyauthorizedorina
separatewrittenagreementwithAir-Weigh,Buyerwillnotservice,repair,modify,alter,
replace,reverseengineer,orotherwisechangeanyoftheproducts.
