Welcome to the Clear Air Revolution
You just gave yourself and your family an invaluable gift. Clear air. When the air is clear,
you are suddenly elevated. Your home becomes a sanctuary where you have the freedom
to enjoy more, do more, play more, and even be more.
We want to thank you for making the incredible decision to join the clear air revolution.
More importantly, every day when you wake up feeling better than you ever thought
possible, you’ll thank yourself for making the clear choice.
In this booklet you will find easy-to-use operating instructions, our technology overview,
frequently asked questions, and warranty information. The Airocide APS-200 PM 2.5 is a
different kind of Air purifier. The first total solution to the problem of PM 2.5! Welcome to
a whole new you.
The Airocide® Technology
The Original Airocide APS-200 Air Purifier draws air through a densely packed catalyst
matrix that is activated by germicidal lamps. The resulting reaction eliminates VOC’s,
bacteria, and mold. Originally developed by NASA, the efficacy of this reaction has
been proven over the last fifteen years in numerous studies subscribing to the scientific
method.
The Airocide APS-200 PM 2.5 is our latest innovation, and the most advanced Airocide
technology available. We have added three stages to our catalytic process to address the
entire spectrum of gasses and particulates that form PM 2.5. These include a woven glass
coated with our proprietary catalyst (which provides a higher MERV rating, and helps us
expand surface area where reactions can occur), a hospital grade MERV rated media, and
a state of the art carbon/permanganate media. All of these stages combine to be the first
total solution to the problem of PM 2.5 in your home. All that exits is crisp, clear air.
2

Airocide PM 2.5 Cartridge
Stage 1 is a Carbon/Permanganate Media that aids in creating a more
rapid removal of gaseous material. Used by itself; activated carbon will
saturate and reintroduce the gaseous component back into the environ-
ment. However, when used with PCO material that has 360 degree expo-
sure to a UV light source it expands capacity to remove VOCs.
Stage 2 is MERV-12 media, which removes particulate matter from the air
such as Inorganic Carbon. This is the same material that hospitals use.
Stage 3 is a fibrous material coated with our proprietary catalyst that has
approximately 270 degrees of exposure to the UV light source. We found
that given the reaction chamber geometry this maximized the surface
area and created a more efficient removal of the gaseous component of
P.M 2.5.
Stage 4 is the traditional NASA developed Airocide catalyst with ap-
proximately 90 degree exposure to the 254 nanometer UV light source.
Approximately 15 - 20% of the composition of P.M 2.5 is organic material.
This is primarily un-combusted hydrocarbons from cars, trucks, and from
smoke stacks. Typically these molecules are very stable cyclic hydrocar-
bons that are both difficult to remove from the air and very dangerous to
breathe (carcinogenic). The Airocide Catalyst has been proven effective
in disturbing the stabilizing ring structure and achieving complete oxida-
tion to Carbon Dioxide.

Helpful Hints Before Using the Airocide® Air Purifier
1. Identify where you will place the unit. We recommend placing
Airocide in your bedroom on a sturdy object: shelf, nightstand,
dresser, desk or use our wall mount or floor stand accessory. Airocide
should be placed anywhere from one to eight feet off of the floor.
2. Place Airocide so it is exposed to air circulation. This means the
top, front and two of the side panels needs to be exposed for
proper airflow. Do not place Airocide in an enclosed space like a
bookshelf, butted up against a bookshelf or directly next to any
piece of furniture.
3. Airocide should run 24 hours a day, seven days a week for optimal
benefits. Turning your unit off when you are not home will not provide
the maximum results.
Simple Set Up Instructions
1. Remove your Airocide unit from the box and protective packaging
from around the unit.
2. (Optional) If you have a decorative sleeve for your Airocide, simply
slide it on or off gently from the back of the unit.
3. Unwrap the grill plate from the protective sleeve and gently place it
on the front of the unit. The grill simply attaches with magnetic
latches. Note: When moving your Airocide, you may notice a rattling
sound within the unit, do not worry. This is nothing to be concerned
about, it is simply the inner pieces of the unit shifting. This is normal.

4. Place the unit on your identified location within your home. The
unit can be placed horizontally or vertically depending on your
location and preference.
5. Plug it in. Your Airocide® uses .5 amps at 120 volts (the same as a
60 watt light bulb). Note: For the first few days, you may notice a
slight smell from your unit. This smell will naturally dissipate within
a few days use.
6. Locate the on/off button on the backside of the unit and press it
until you notice the touch controls illuminate to indicate power to
the unit. Your Airocide is up and running on the high setting.
Continue reading to learn more about settings.
6
FRONT
Grill Plate

High - When you turn your Airocide on, it will automatically
default to the high setting. This setting allows for optimal results.
Automatic – Programs the unit to run on high at most times and
then transitions to low for a slower, quieter speed. While most people
find the fan sound helps them sleep better at night, the automatic
setting offers the option of a quiter setting at night. A light
sensor is built within the unit, so as the room darkens the unit
adjusts to low and when enough light is present in the room it
adjusts to high.
Low – The low setting turns the unit to a slow speed. While this
setting is not recommended for optimal results, you may choose
to change to a low setting for sleeping if you like a quiet sleeping
environment. In which case, you might consider the automatic
setting, which will do that for you automatically.

Operating Modes
Normal Operating Mode
When the power switch is in the “on” position, the front grill is installed
and no error condition is detected, one of the icon lights will indicate
the “active” mode (low, high or automatic icons as referenced on page 7).
The “active” mode indicator light will be bright when the “active” mode
is first selected, then will dim after 10 seconds and remain on until
another mode button is pressed again.
Grill Removed Mode
If the front grill is removed while the power switch is in the “on”
position, the unit will go into “standby” mode and the “active” mode
indicator light will flash brightly.
Error Mode
If the front grill is installed with the power switch in the “on” position
and one or both of the Reaction Chambers is missing, non-functional
or not seated properly, the unit will enter “standby” mode, causing
all of the indicator lights to flash brightly. This condition can be
automatically cleared by correctly installing two functional
Reaction Chambers.
Change Reaction Chamber Mode
When the Reaction Chambers need to be changed the “active” mode
indicator light will flash dimly. Extreme environments may require
cartridges to be changed every 6 months. Your Airocide will not be
effective in terms of removing pathogens in any matter after the light
has begun flashing and new Reaction Chambers should be installed. See
Maintenance and Cleaning section for details.
No Lights
Indicator lights function only when the unit is plugged in and the power
button is in the “on” position.

Maintenance and Cleaning
1. When the indicator light starts blinking you’ll need to change the two
Reaction Chambers inside your unit. To order new Reaction Chambers,
go to www.airocide.com. Your replacement kit will contain all of the
information needed to simply change out the Reaction Chambers and
we will even supply you with a pre-paid shipping label to return the
used Reaction Chambers for recycling.
2. If you happen to spill something on the outside of your Airocide®,
use a damp clean cloth to wipe down.
3. There is nothing to clean within your unit, simply dust it as you would
any other item in your home.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What size space can Airocide® cover?
A: Airocide is meant for single room use. It can accommodate a room of any size -
small to large.
Q: Can I have my windows open?
A: Airocide will work with windows open or closed, but is most effective with the
windows closed. If you are allergy or asthma sufferer, however, experts recommend
closed windows.
Q: My Airocide feels warm to touch on one side.
A: This is normal. The unit is drawing in power from that side.
Q: Do all sides need to be in the flow of air?
A. No. To be effective the top, front and two sides of the unit need to be in the flow of
air.
Q: I heard a rattling sound when I took my Airocide out of the box.
Is it broken?
A: No. This is the sound of the inner pieces simply shifting. This is normal and nothing
is wrong with your product.
Q: Is there any maintenance?
A: About once every six months you will need to change the Reaction Chambers.
See page 7 for details. Extreme environments may require cartridges to be changed
more frequently.
Q: What type of Indoor Air Quality issues can your air purifier remove from the air?
A: In short; all of them. Our patented NASA developed process eliminates fungi,
mold, viruses, bacteria, and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) - noxious gasses
emitted from aerosol sprays, cleaning supplies, building materials, paints, and car
exhaust. Unlike strictly filtration devices, these pollutants are permanently eliminated.
The Airocide APS-200 PM 2.5 will also remove all particulates such as dust, smoke,
cigarette residual, and the uncombusted carbon that emanates from cars and smoke
stacks. If it is in your air, and harmful to your health; Airocide will remove it.

NASA To Now
NASA had a problem. They needed a technology to help the astronauts
on the International Space Station take the ethylene gas emitted by plants
out of the air. So, they created Airocide®.
Fast-forward to 1998: Food packers, florists and grocery chains began to
use Airocide to extend the shelf life of flowers, fruits and vegetables (this
one-of-a-kind technology helps save a portion of the 27 billion pounds of
produce lost to spoilage each year).
In 2003 Airocide was introduced to hospitals, clinics, emergency rooms,
dental offices and daycare centers to help stem the spread of infectios
disease. Further studies consistently demonstrate dramatic reductions in
mold and bacteria counts.
Today Airocide comes home to you with air purification technology so
scientifically advanced it goes far beyond that of traditional filters or
electrostatic plates. This PM2.5 and bio-conversion technology eliminates
virtually 100% of the harmful airborne pathogens in your home that can
cause illness, including asthma and allergies. And when you’re breathing
cleaner air, you sleep better, feel better and have more energy.
