PRECAUTION TO REPALCE OPTICAL BLOCK (KSM-213 VSCM) -1/1

1) After the connection, remove solder shown in

the right figure.

Body or clothes electrostatic potential could ruin

laser diode in the optical block. Be sure ground

body and workbench, and use care the clothes

do not touch the diode.

SERVICE NOTE -1/1

When the repair/maintenance work is completed, attach the TAG (Aiwa part code: 8C-CL3-038-010) as follows.

1. While pressing the CL button, insert the AC power plug. Confirm that all FL display tubes light.

2. Press the PRESET button and confirm the M/TEST display.

3. Press the DISC2 OPEN/CLOSE button to open the Drawer.

4. Attach the TAG as shown in Fig. 1-3.

5. Press the DISC2 OPEN/CLOSE button to close the Drawer.

6. Press the DISC3 DIRECT PLAY button to active the INITIAL operation.

7. Disconnect the AC power plug from the wall outlet.

MECHANISM DISASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

1. Remove the COVER 2

Remove the four screws and remove COVER 2.

2. Open the DRAWER

Press the Lever in the bottom left of mechanism as shown (Fig.2-b Fig.2-c).

Lock of the DRAWER is released so that you can open the DRAWER.

3. Remove DRAWER from mechanism

1) Open the HOOK to the right and left of the CHASSIS that fix the DRAWER.

At the same time, while pressing the DRAWER toward inside, raise the DRAWER and remove it.

* The DRAWER and the CHASSIS are connected by wire. Be careful of the connection.

4. Remove CRG from CHASSIS ASS’Y

1) Remove COVER 2. (Refer to “1. Remove the COVER 2”.)

2) Remove DRAWER. (Refer to “2. Open the DRAWER” and “3. Remove the DRAWER from mechanism”.)

3) While fixing the ARM STOPPER B inside, press the lever on the left side of the CHASSIS in the direction of the arrow.

4) As the ASS’Y CLAMPER is raised up, remove the ASS’Y CRG.

5. Remove ASS’Y CRG from DRAWER

1) Remove COVER 2. (Refer to “1. COVER 2”.)

2) Remove DRAWER. (Refer to “2. Open the DRAWER” and “3. Remove the DRAWER from mechanism”.)

3) Rotate the BEVEL GEAR in the direction (counter-clockwise direction) of the arrow as shown.

The PINION ASS’Y rotates and the CRG moves.

* Because the BEVEL GEAR can be easily drop, be careful not to drop.

2) Further from the position where the ASS’Y CRG has moved up to the deep end, rotate the BEVEL GEAR further more.

3) While rotating the STAR GAER, raise the ASS’Y CRG and remove it.

4) Rotate the BEVAL GAER in the same way and remove the second ASS’Y CRG.

6. Remove the ASS’Y HOLDER and ASS’Y GEAR DRIVE

1) Remove the COVER 2. (Refer to “1. COVER 2”.)

2) Remove the DRAWER 2. (Refer to “2. Open the DRAWER” and “3. Remove the DRAWER from mechanism”.)

3) Remove the four screws each of the DRAWER and remove the ASS’Y HOLDER, ASS’Y GEAR DRIVE.

7. Remove the BELT, MOTOR

1) Remove the COVER 2. (Refer to “1. Remove the COVER 2.”)

2) Remove the DRAWER. (Refer to “2. Open the DRAWER” and “3. Remove the DRAWER from mechanism”.)

3) Remove the BELT and remove the two screws each of the MOTOR.

4) Remove the four screws fixing the C.B., and remove the soldering. Then remove the MOTOR.

8. SWITCH6 (OPEN / CLOSE), SWITCH7 (FWD), SWITCH8 (RVS)

1) Remove the four screws fixing the C.B. in the bottom of the mechanism.

2) Remove soldering of the MOTOR terminal and remove the C. B.

3) You can replace the SWITCH in this state.

9. SWITCH2 (EXTRA), SWITCH3 (HOME)

1) Remove the COVER 2. (Refer to “1. COVER 2”.)

2) Remove the DRAWER. (Refer to “2. Open the DRAWER” and “3. Remove the DRAWER from mechanism”.)

3) Remove the screw of the DRAWER and remove the SPACER.

4) You can replace the SWITCH by releasing the HOOK at the two locations.

10.SWITCH4 (DISC2), SWITCH5 (DISC1)

1) Remove the COVER 2. (Refer to “1. COVER 2”.)

2) Open the DRAWER. (Refer to “2. Open the DRAWER”.)

3) Remove the ASS’Y CRG from the CHASSIS. (Refer to “4. Remove the ASS’Y CRG from CHASSIS.)

4) While holding the front side of the LIFTER in the right, remove the LIFTER in the right and remove the SPRING.

5) Open the top rear of the CHASSIS and remove the ASS’Y CLAMPER.

6) While pressing the portions fixing C.B. to the CHASSIS, rotate the C.B. clockwise and remove the C.B.

Note when installing SPRING to the LIFTER

Install the SPRING to the LIFTER as shown in the illustration.

11.P/U UNIT

1) Remove the COVER 2. (Refer to “1. Remove the COVER 2”.)

2) Open the DRAWER. (Refer to “2. Open the DRAWER”.)

3) Remove the ASS’Y CRG from the CHASSIS. (Refer to “4. Remove the ASS’Y CRG from the CHASSIS”.)

4) Remove the ASS’Y CLAMPER. (Refer to “10. SWITCH4, SWITCH5 5)”.)

5) You can remove the four screws of the P/UUNIT in this state.

12.Remove the ARM STOPPER B, ASS’Y SLIDER 2 and SLIDER 1

1) Remove the COVER 2. (Refer to “1. Remove the COVER 2”.)

2) Remove the DRAWER. (Refer to “2. Open the DRAWER” and “3. Remove the DRAWER from mechanism”.)

3) Remove the ASS’Y CRG from the CHASSIS. (Refer to “4. Remove ASS’Y CRG from CHASSIS”.)

4) Remove the ASS’Y CLAMPER. (Refer to “10. SWITCH4, SWITCH5 5)”.)

5) Remove the SPRING in the order of a, b then c.

6) Remove the ARM STOPPER B by rotating it counter-clockwise.

7) Remove the BELT and push the ASS’Y SLIDER 2 to the front.

8) While pushing the HOOK under the PULLEY A and push it to the front to remove the ASS’Y.

9) Pull the SLIDER1 towards the front.

10) Release the claws of the SLIDER 1 from the bottom of the CHASSIS and remove the SLIDER 1.

MECHANISM RE-ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTION

1. ASS’Y HOLDER, ASS’Y GEAR DRIVE

1) Tighten the ASS’Y HOLDER L and the ASS’Y HOLDER R with four screws each tentatively.

2) Align the positions (marks) of the CAM RR, CAM RF and those of the CAM LR, CAM LF.

If these positions are aligned correctly, you cannot move the ASS’Y CRG correctly.

4) Tighten the screws of the ASS’Y HOLDER finally.

5) Confirm again that the positions (marks) of the CAM RR and those of the CAM LR are aligned correctly.

2. ASS’Y CRG

1) Confirm position of the CAM RR 3. (Refer to “1. ASS’Y HOLDER, ASS’Y GEAR DRIVE”.)

2) Insert the ASS’Y CRG A201 (No.2) and engage the PINION as shown in illustration.

3) Rotate the BEVEL GEAR clockwise.

Insert the ASS’Y CRG into the DRAWER.

4) When the first ASS’Y CRG A201 (No.2) is inserted correctly, insert the second ASS’Y CRG A101 (No.1) in the same way as step 2).

5) When you rotate the BEVEL GEAR clockwise, the first ASS’Y CRG A201 will be raised by the STAR GEAR. Then raise the ASS’Y CRG

A201 by holding it with hand so that it should not be stacked.

6) Rotate the BEVEL GEAR further. Then second ASS’Y CRG A101 DRAWER will be installed in the correct place.

7) Confirm again that position of the CAM RR 3 is correct.

3. DRAWER

1) Insert the protrusion in the deep end in the left of the DRAWER into the position of the ARM STOPPER B.

2) While pressing down the left side of the DRAWER, raise the right side of the DRAWER and engage the claws in the deep end in the left of the

CHASSIS in the order of a then b.

3) Engage the groove of the BEVEL GEAR of the CHASSIS side with the BEVEL GEAR block of the DRAWER, and install the DRAWER. (Fig.3-

d ).
