Der Bluetooth Helmconnector BT-HC4 D&S von AKE ermöglicht den
BetriebvondiversenBluetooth-HelmenankabelgebundenenHelmsprech-

anlagen. Er ist sowohl für AKE PowerCom Motorradkommunikations-

und Entertainmentsystemeals auch für andere Systeme, wie Baehr Helm-
® ®
sprechanlagen, Honda Goldwing Interkom oder Harley Davidson Boom!
™
Box ,etc.lieferbar.
Mit dem Bluetooth Helmconnector ist sowohl Duplex- als auch Stereo-
Betrieb möglich. Der Duplex-Betrieb ermöglicht per Headsetprofil (HSP) die

Signalübertragung in zwei Richtungen. Der Stereo-Betrieb unterstützt A2DP
(2-Kanal Audioprofil) und ermöglicht damit eine hochwertige Signalüber-
tragung zum Helm. Zum einfachen Umschalten ist eine Multifunktionstaste
vorhanden (5). Bei Betrieb an einer AKE PowerCom-Anlage wird bei
SolobetriebdasjeweilsoptimaleProfilautomatischaktiviert.
Bitte beachten Sie, dass wir bei Verwendung in
Kombination mit Bluetooth-Helmsets anderer Hersteller
keine Gewähr für die Funktion übernehmen können

Voraussetzungen
1. Eine Motorradsprechanlage von AKE (PowerCom-Serie), Baehr,
HarleyDavidsonBoomBox,HondaInterkom,etc.
2. Ein Bluetooth-Helm, oder ein entsprechendes Bluetooth-System mit
aufgeladenem Akku, Passwort 0000, 1111 oder 1234, unterstützte
Profile:HSP/HFP1.5 fürDuplexbzw.A2DPfürStereo.
3. Alle zu verbindenden Bluetoothkomponenten müssen sich innerhalb der
Reichweite der Bluetoothverbindung befinden, wobei die
BluetoothhelmedurchausaufverschiedenenFahrzeugenseinkönnen.

4. DurchAbschattungenoderStörquellenkanndieReichweitebeträcht-
lich reduziert werden. Wir empfehlen deshalb, Bluetooth-
komponenten nicht direkt unter dem Tank etc. unterzubringen (am
bestenausprobieren).
5. Beim Betrieb von mehreren Bluetooth-Geräten empfehlen wir diese
getrenntvoneinanderzubefestigen.ImNahbereich(unterca.50cm)
können sich die Geräte unter Umständen gegenseitig stören (Knack-
geräusche).
DieMontageamFahrzeug
Verbinden Sie die Stromversorgung mit dem geschalteten Bord-
netz (Klemme 30, Licht- oder Zubehöranschluss) oder über einen
Schalter mit12V, am besten durch einen Fachmann anschließen
lassen.BeiBetriebanPowerCom-Anlagennichterforderlich.
Ansteckversion: Diese in die vorhandene Helmanschlussbuchse
einsteckenundfertig
Einbauversion: Diese sollte durch einen Fachbetrieb montiert werden. Mon-
tagehinweise dazu finden Sie auf unseren Internetseiten. Wir empfehlen die
Kombination VOR dem Einbau zu testen da
nicht garantiert werden kann, dass alle
Bluetooth-Gerätekompatibelsind.

Schalten Sie den AKE Bluetooth-Helmconnector über die Bedientaste aus und
wieder ein. Halten Sie beim Einschalten die Taste gedrückt, bis schnelles
WechselblinkenderKontroll-LEDsdasPaarensignalisiert.
Halten Sie Ihren Bluetooth-Helm oder Ihr Bluetooth-Helmset in die Nähe des
AKE Bluetooth-Helmconnectors und achten Sie darauf, dass kein
weiteresBluetoothsysteminderNäheimPaarungsmodusist.BringenSienun
Ihren Bluetooth-Helm oder Ihr Bluetooth-Helmset zeitnah ebenfalls in den
Paarungsmodus für Bluetoothgeräte, z.B. für Handys (Achtung, verwenden
SienichtdieInterkom-PaarungundversuchenSienicht denBluetoothHelm
ei Metallabdeckungen empfehlen
wir die Ansteckversion, damit die Funksignale
nichtabgeschirmtwerden.

SiedenStereo-BetriebundschaltenSiedenHelmwiederaus.
Drücken Sie die Bedientaste des AKE Bluetooth-Helmconnectors bis die
LEDs abwechselnd blinken und paaren Sie den Fahrerhelm. Dann können
SiedenSoziushelmwiedereinschalten.
Nun kurz die Bedientaste des Bluetooth-Helmconnectors drücken, um
zwischen den Betriebsarten zu wechseln: a) Fahrerhelm auf Duplex-Sprech-
™
Betrieb (für Handy / Funk über die Motorradsprechanlage bzw. Boom!Box )
oderb)beideHelmeaufStereo-Betrieb.
LöschenalterPaarungen
Wir empfehlen alte Paarungen grundsätzlich zu löschen! Bringen Sie dazu
den jeweiligen AKE Bluetooth-Helmconnector in den Paarungsmodus,
indem Sie diesen über die Multifunktionstaste aus und wieder einschalten
und die Taste beim Einschalten so lange gedrückt halten, bis der Paarungs-
modusdurchabwechselndesBlinkenderLEDssignalisiertwird.
Drücken Sie dann im Paarungsmodus 3 x kurz die Multifunktionstaste (5).
WennallePaarungengelöschtsindschaltetsichdasGerätautomatischaus.
Wenn Sie das Gerät anschließend wieder einschalten geht es automatisch
indenPaarungsmodus.
HerstellenderBluetooth-VerbindungzumHelm
Wenn Ihr Bluetooth-Helm dieses zulässt, erfolgt die Verbindung nach dem
EinschaltenderStromversorgungautomatisch.

Schnell abwechselnd rot und blau blinkend: Paaren
Rot blinkend: Partner suchen bzw. Partner außer Reichweite
Je 1 x kurz blau blinkend: Duplex Verbindung aktiv
Je 2 x kurz blau blinkend: Stereo Verbindung aktiv
KontrolltonfürDuplex/StereoKommunikationein:abhängigvomHelmset
Durch kurzes Drücken der Multifunktionstaste (5) kann jederzeit zwischen
Duplex und Stereo-Betrieb hin und her geschaltet werden, längeres
DrückenschaltetdenAKEBluetooth-Helmconnectoraus.
Beachten Sie, dass für die Sprechverbindung der Duplex-Betrieb aktiv sein

muss.DiegewählteEinstellungwirdgespeichert.
JenachHelmsetkannesvorkommen,dassdiedieLEDblaublinktaber
die Sprechverbindung noch nicht aktiviert ist, dann bitte die Sprech-
verbindungmanuellmitzweiTastenklicksaktivieren.
EinstellenderLautstärke
Der an sich sinnvolle Seitenton vieler Motorradsprechanlagen (Sie hören sich
selbstsprechen), wirdbei manchenBluetooth-Helmenverzögertübertragen.
BeizuhoherLautstärkekanndieserdannalsstörendempfundenwerden.
Tip: Bei Handynutzung über die Harley Boom!Box™, sollten Sie die Handy-
Lautstärke an der Boom!Box™ (und am Handy) möglichst hoch einstellen
undamHelmdannentsprechendreduzieren.
Wählen Sie eine moderate Lautstärke.
Eine zu hohe Lautstärke kann Ihre Ohren schädigen!
AnpassenderMikrofonempfindlichkeit
Hierfür sollte die verwendete Motorradsprechanlage / Motorradinterkom
bereits richtig eingestellt sein! Näheres dazu siehe Bedienungsanleitung
derjeweiligenMotorradsprechanlage.
Systembedingt, ist die Übertragungsqualität und die Höchstgeschwindigkeit
füreineSprechverbindungaufdemMotorradüberBluetoothimmergeringer
als über die Kabelverbindung. Außerdem kann je nach der in den Helm ein-
gebautenBluetooth-Komponente,dasMikrofonsignallauteroderleisersein.
Für sprachgesteuerte Anlagen (VOX) können Sie die Mikrofonempfindlich-
keit zusätzlich am Bluetooth-Helmconnector anpassen. Regler (4) für maxi-
male Empfindlichkeit ganz nach rechts, für minimale Nebengeräusche
ganznachlinks.TestenimFahrbetrieb-EinstellenbittenurimStand!
QualitätderBluetooth-Übertragung
MöglicheFehlfunktionen
SprechverbindungnurineinerRichtung:
Duplex (HFP): Sprechverständigung im Fahrerhelm bei optimaler Einstel-
lung: Bis über 160 KM/h - gut. Besonders im Soziushelm ist bei lautem
Helmtyp und hoher Geschwindigkeit eine schlechtere Sprechverständi-
gung möglich. Durch die, je nach verwendetem Bluetooth-Helm unter-
schiedliche, Verzögerung bei der Bluetooth-Übertragung entsteht bei
Sprechanlagen mit Seitenton ein etwas halliger Sound, was aber bei
richtigerEinstellungdieSprechverständigungnichtbeeinträchtigt.

Der Stereobetrieb ist aktiviert, durch kurzes Drücken der Multifunktionstaste
(5)dieVerbindungaufDuplex-Betriebumschalten.
DieVerbindungzumHelmgehtbeimAnlassendesMotorsverloren:
Wenn z.B. bei schwacher Bordbatterie der Anlasser betätigt wird, und
dabei das Bordnetz impulsartig auf unter 9V zusammenbricht, kann die
Elektronik unter Umständen mehrfach aus und wieder einschalten, oder
z.B.zwischenDuplexundStereohinundherschalten!IndiesemFallsollten
Sie Ihre Helm-Sprechanlage über einen separaten Schalter erst nach
dem Starten der Maschine einschalten. Tip: Bei einigen modernen
Motorrädernwird das Licht erst nach dem Starten des Motors eingeschal-
tet. Verbinden Sie hier die Versorgung der Elektronik mit dem 12V-
AnschlussdesFrontscheinwerfers.
KeineBluetoothverbindungnachdemAus-undWiedereinschalten:
VordemWiedereinschaltenderStromversorgungca.4Sekundenwarten,
damit sich der Bluetooth Helmconnector beim Helmset ordentlich
abmeldenkann.Sonstkannes vorkommen,dasses zwei Minuten dauert,
bis die Verbindung wieder hergestellt wird, oder dass diese gar völlig
abbricht.
AudiosignalvomRadio,etc.beihöhererFahrgeschwindigkeitübersteuert:
Bluetooth-Helmset auf hohe Lautstärke einstellen und dafür die
Radiolautstärke und bei Helmsprechanlagen die Interkomlautstärke
entsprechendreduzieren.
ImRuhezustandleichteBluetooth-Geräusche:
Die Bluetooth-zum-Helm Verbindungen sind auf den verzerrungsfreien
Betrieb bei hohen Umgebungsgeräuschen optimiert. Daher können im
RuhezustandleichteGrundgeräuschezuhörensein(Dynamikumfang).

GeneralInformation
The Bluetooth Helmet Connector BT-HC4 D&S by AKE allows operation
withvariousBluetoothhelmetsandwiredhelmetintercoms.It isavailiblefor
AKE PowerCom motorbike communication- and entertainment
systems,aswellasforothersystemssuchasBaehrhelmetintercom,Honda
Goldwingintercom, HarleyDavidsonBoomBoxandothers.
Using the Bluetooth Helmet Connector, you have the choice between
duplex- and stereo-mode. The duplex-mode allows the signal of your

headset profile (HSP) to be transfered into two directions. The stereo-mode
supports the A2DP (2-channel audio profil) and thus allows a high quality
signal to be transferred to the helmet. You can easily switch between both
modes by pressing the operating button. Used on a AKE PowerCom
system,theoptimumprofileisautomaticallyactivatedwhendrivingsolo.

functionality, when used in combination with
Bluetooth helmet sets from other manufacturers

Requirements
1. A motorbike intercom system by AKE (PowerCom-series), Baehr,
HarleyDavidson(BoomBox),HondaGoldwing,etc.
2. A Bluetooth helmet or an adequate Bluetooth system with charged
battery, password if required: 0000, 1111 or 1234, supported profiles:
HSP/HFP1.5for DuplexandA2DPfor Stereo.
3. All used Bluetooth components must be within the reach of the Bluetooth
connection,theBluetoothhelmetsmaybe ondifferentmotorbikes.

We recommend testing the combina-
tion before installation, for lack of gua-
rantee that all Bluetooth devices are
compatible. If the LEDs flash, the BT-HC4
is in operation. In metal covers, we re-
commendplug-inversionsothattheradiosignalsarenotshielded.
PairingoftheBluetoothdevices
Ifthedevicesarealreadypaired,youcanignorethischapter.
Turn the AKE Bluetooth Helmet off and on again with the operating button.
Hold down the button when switching on until the pairing mode is signaled
byrapidalternateblinkingoftheLEDs.
Hold your Bluetooth helmet or helmet set close to the AKE Bluetooth
Helmet Connector and make sure that no other Bluetooth device in the
area is ready for pairing. Now quickly get your Bluetooth helmet or your
BluetoothHelmetSet also intopairingmode forBluetoothdevices,e.g.cell
phone (ATTENTION: Do not use the Intercom pairing and do not try to pair
the Bluetooth helmet with the Harley Boom!™ Box). After a successful
pairing you will hear a short confirmation signal in the paired helmet and
theLEDsstopflashingalternately.
Pairingasecondhelmet
(Only possible with HC for Two). First pair the pillion's helmet, activate the

stereomode,andthenturnoffthehelmet.
PressthecontrolbuttonoftheAKEBluetoothHelmetConnectoruntilthe
LEDsflashalternatelyandpair thedriver'shelmet.Thenyoucanturnonthe
pillion'shelmetagain.
Now shortly press the button of the AKE Bluetooth helmet connector to
switchbetween theoperating modes:a) driver'shelmet in duplex talk mode
(for mobile phone / CB-radio via motorcycle intercom respectively
™
Boom!Box )orb)bothhelmetsinstereomode.
Deletingoldpairings
We recommend to generally delete old pairings! Bring the respective
AKEBluetoothHelmetConnectorinto pairingmodebyturningitoffand
on with the Bluetooth control button. Hold down the button when switching
onuntilthepairingmodeissignaledbyalternateblinkingoftheLEDs.
Then shortly press the button thrice. When all pairings have been deleted,
the device will switch off automatically. When the Helmet Connector is
tunedbackonitwillautomaticallyenterpairingmode.
Establishthe Bluetoothconnectiontothehelmet
If your Bluetooth helmet allows this, the devices connect automatically
afterswitchingonthepowersupply.
LED-indication:
Fast alternate red and blue blinking: Pairing mode
Red blinking: Searching partner or partner is out of range
Each 1 brief short blue blinking: Duplex connection enabled
Each 2 brief short blue blinking: Stereo connection enabled
Control tone for duplex/stereo communication: Depending on helmet set
It is always possible to switch between duplex and stereo transmission by
shortly pressing the multifunction button (5), longer pressing switches the
AKEBluetoothhelmetconnectoroff.
Pleasenote,it’snecessarytoswitchtoDuplextransmission,iftheintercomis
requested.Thesettingwillbesaved.
Depending on the helmet set, it may happen, that the LED blinks blue
but the speech connection is not activated yet, then please activate
speechconnectionmanuallywithtwobuttonclicks.

helmets.Whenthevolumeistoohigh,thiscanbeperceivedasdisturbing.
Tip: For mobile phone use via Boom!Box™, you should adjust the mobile
phone volume on the Boom!Box™ (and on mobile phone) as high as
possibleandreduceitaccordinglyonthehelmet.
Select a moderate volume.
Excessive volume can damage your ears!
Adjustmentof themicrophonesensitivity
For this, the motorbike intercom should already be set correctly. For more
details, please see the operating instructions of the respective motorcycle
intercom.
Depending on the system, the trasmission quality and the speed limit for a
voiceconnectionviabluetoothis alwayslowerthanthecableconnection.
In addition, the microphone signal may be louder or softer depending on
thebuilt-inhelmetbluetoothcomponent.
Forvoice-operatedsystems(VOX)youcanadjustthemicrophonesensitivi-
ty additionally to the Bluetooth Helmet Connector. Trimmer (4) for maxi-
mum sensivity turn completely to the right, for lowest noise turn completely
totheleft.

Possiblemalfunctions
Voiceconnectiononlyinonedirection:
The Stereo mode is activated, push shortly the Bluetooth-operating-
buttonforswitchingto Duplexmode.
Theconnectiontothehelmetgetslostwhenstartingtheengine:
If starting the engine with a low battery and the on-board power breaks
down on impulse below 9V, the electronic might turn off and on several
times, or e.g. switch between duplex and stereo mode! In this case start
the helmet-intercom-system with an additional switch, after starting the
engine. Please note: Regarding some modern motorcycles , the light is

Adjust Bluetooth helmet set to high volume and reduce the volume of
accessoriesandintercomaccordingly.
MinimalBluetoothnoiseinrestingmode:
The Bluetooth-to-helmet connections are optimized for distortion-free
operation at high speed. Therefore, it’s possible to hear fundamental
noisewhenengineisoff(dynamicrange).
NoDuplex/Stereoswitchingorunexplainedmalfunctions:
IftheBluetoothdevicesgetmixedup,pleaseturnthemoffandonagain.
Vehicle disturbance when Bluetooth helmet connector with own power
lineisused:
Disconnect Bat.neg.-pole or use disturbance free power with AKE Power
Stabilizer.
