Installation
Connect the video server
to the network
❶ Using an Ethernet cable, connect the
video server to the network.
❷ If a PoE-enabled router is not available,
connect the video server’s AC power
adapter and plug it into a non-
switched outlet.
❸ Wait for the video server to connect
to the Internet (approximately one
minute). When the Network LED is solid
green, the connection is complete.
❹ If the LED is not solid green after
a few minutes:
a) Power cycle the video server.
b) Try a different Ethernet port on
the router.
❺Ensure that the analog camera that
will be connected to the video server is
functioning properly and receiving
power separately from the video server.
❻ Connect the analog camera’s data cable
to the video server’s Video In port.
❼ The SD/HD toggle will control the
maximum resolution of your video
server. Set the toggle to the resolution
of your camera – for 720p and higher
use HD, otherwise use SD.
❽If an external monitor or recording
device will be used, connect the
Video Out port to that device.
Otherwise, connect the termination
resistor/dust-proof cap to the port.
❾ Add the video server to the account
using one of the following methods:
Customer Website
a) Using a web browser, enter the
following URL: www.alarm.com/
addcamera. You will need the
customer’s username and password
to log in to the Customer Website.
b) Select the video server from the video
device list or enter its MAC address to
begin adding the camera. The video
server’s MAC address is located on the
bottom of the video server or on
the packaging.
