Preamble
Alb Filter - a matter of heart.
We are pleased that you have chosen Alb lter.
Since 2001 we can look back on a great experience in the
eld of water treatment.
At a time when even the smallest part seems to come from
the Far East, we at Alb Filter stand for quality from the
centre of the Swabian Alb. A production site in southern
Germany, which is characterized by the highest standards
and precision in many areas.

Description
The Alb Filter Duo - a high-quality water lter for
installation directly on your tap.
Alb Filter Duo can be used for:
• Drinking water production
• Preparation of food (cooking water)
• Food cleanings
The lter is installed directly on the tap. For this
purpose, the connection diverter valve is screwed to
the standardized outlet (M22 AG/M24 IG) instead of the
faucet aerator.
A practical switch lever allows you to choose between
ltered and unltered water.

Installation Alb Filter Duo
 The Alb Filter Duo has an M22 internal thread as
standard, suitable for most taps with M22 external
thread. You may need an optional adapter for your
individual tap.

Determine connection thread
The two most common faucet aerator variants are called
M22 or M24 in technical terms. Furthermore there are the
sizes M18, M19 and M21, which are not very common.
Approach:
1. Remove the faucet aerator from your tap. If
necessary, use a pipe wrench with protective jaws or
an installation wrench.

2. Measure the diameter of the thread on your
tap. Alternatively, measure the diameter at the
unscrewed faucet aerator.

Installation Alb Filter Duo without adapter
for standard thread (M22)
Approach:
1. Close the water inlet of your tap. Remove the Alb
Filter Duo from the packaging.
 The cartridge is already inserted in the housing.
2. Remove the faucet aerator from your tap using a
suitable tool.
3. Make sure that the thread of your valve is in good
condition and, if necessary, remove limescale and
other deposits from it.
4. Now screw on the Alb Filter Duo by turning the
ribbed union nut (3). (Picture 1a+1b)

We recommend to mount the Alb Filter Duo on the
right side or in alignment to the front in order to be able
to operate the switching function (filtered/unfiltered)
more easily.
 Attention: Avoid placing the union nut at an angle to
the thread.

5. Check that the Alb Filter Duo is correctly and rmly
attached to your tap. If necessary, use a combination
pliers with jaw guard to tighten the union slightly.
6. Before opening the water inlet of your tap, make
sure that the switch lever is in a vertical position
(pointing downwards). Mode: Unltered.

7. Set the switch lever (4) to a horizontal position
(Filtered mode) and slowly open the water inlet of
your tap. (Picture 1c)
8. Now let the water run through the lter for about 30
seconds for the activation process. (Picture 1d)
Fine activated carbon dust can dissolve and slightly
cloud the water during the activation process of the
cartridge.
9. Check the water lter housing and all connected
components for leaks.
10. The Alb Filter Duo is now ready for use.

Please determine the thread type of your tap before
installation. If you have any questions, you can get
in touch with us by using the contact details on our
website.
Approach:
1. Close the water inlet of your tap. Remove the Alb
Filter Duo from the packaging.
 The cartridge is already inserted in the housing.
2. Remove the faucet aerator from your tap using a
suitable tool.

3. Make sure that the thread of your valve is in good
condition and, if necessary, remove limescale and
other deposits from it.
4. Now screw the appropriate thread adapter into your
tap. (Picture 2a)
5. Attach the union nut (3) of the Alb Filter Duo to the
previously screwed-in threaded adapter.

Changing the lter cartridge
Approach:
1. Close the inlet of your tap.
2. Unscrew the lower cap (7) of the Alb Filter Duo from
the lter body (2). (Picture 3a)
