Alberici billyone Technical manual

PREPARATORY OPERATIONS:
1.
Before installing the software, verify that yo r PC m st have the Framework 3.5 from Microsoft. If not,
download it from the web.
2.
If yo r PC does not contain the drivers for the programming interface (driver file from Silicon Labs),
please
download them: they are s pplied with the CD- software provided with the programming Kit, or it is available in
the Download Area of www.alberici .net , nder 'Programming Kit' / 'Drivers niversal kit'.
3.
Paste the directory “Agg_Update_BillyOry_v.x_x_.x.zip” on yo r PC, nzip it, then extract the
application
file “AlbericiUpgLettore.exe”:
and its library “Ionic.Zip.dll”:
4.
Paste as well the “20xx_0x_xx_BillyOne_OryOne_........... .alb” pdate fw file.
The *.exe and *.alb files are available from the web page (Download section at foot of page):
BILLYONE:
BillyOne UN1, without stacker, Note validators, products - Alberici SpA
ORYON :
OryOne UN1, with stacker, Note validators, products - Alberici SpA
Any of two interface tools can be sed:
A)
if pdating on the Change machine, se the grey
USB Pendrive with its 4p/4p cable (cod. no. K-P2C-000003),
B)
if pdating directly the validator (i.e. on a working bench), se
the
niversal programming kit (code no. K-P10-000009).
Dip-switch 1 in the validator m st be set to ON for programming!!!
If the USB pendrive is sed, go to A) UPDATE BY USB PENDRIVE.
If the Universal kit is sed, go to B) UPDATE BY UNIVERSAL PROGRAMMING KIT (page 5).
A)
UPDATE BY USB PENDRIVE.
A1- Insert the Pendrive on a USB port of the PC, and fit the cable 4p / 10p between the Pendrive and the 10p
note validator socket. Connect the socket of the 2p cable (red and black wires) to the Pendrive 2p socket.
Power the red (+) / black (-) wires to +24V (from a power box; else, if pdating on the spot, connect them
to the green=+24 and black (GND) wires of the main pcb PWR IN/CCT socket or of the H b pcb).
4p/10p to Note Validator
USB 2p/2p (red-black) to +24V
BillyOne / OryOne note validator

A2- COM port: if the software does not find it a tomatically, see NOTICE in Section E.
A3- Open the application “AlbericiUpg.Lettore.exe”. The window box below will prompt yo :
Go to A4. If the q estion in the box is in the Italian lang age, click on the NO b tton to change the
lang age
as follows. The following dialog e window will appear:
CLICK on the flag to
change language to
nglish
In the new dialogue window, click Options > Com… to make sure that the COM Port is properly set and identified:
Close the application and launch it again: the box in nglish language will prompt you:
A4- Press “Yes” if yo want to pdate a newly downloaded firmware to the validator.
Press “No” if
you
want to use an old firmware file that is already in the memory of the software.
In the navigation window (below), find the pdate file ("20..…..
BillyOne_OryOne….. .alb"), and select it.
Then press the "Open" button to confirm the selected file.
A5- The application will transfer the file name in its portfolio (List of files) and
will
ask if other
files must be
downloaded. Choose "No":
A6-
Press the “START” (Download) button:
A new setting window will open p, showing the note denominations that will be programmed.
It is
possible to remove the tick from the denominations that must not be programmed.
Starting with version ARM 2, limited to the uro files, it is also possible to set which denominations
should be processed under security standard and which ones under high security mode. This way, it is
possible to disable denominations without going through the process of setting the dip-switches and
slipping the banknotes into the validator.

Remove both ticks (standard mode and
security mode) from the boxes of the denomination(s) that
should not be accepted.
A7- The system will prompt yo to wait (‘Please wait…’), then the Stat s box “FW UPGRADE” will
appear,
and download will get started. The process takes two steps: one performs the loading of the
firmware, the
second carries out
the loading of
the data of the banknote denominations.
The transfer process
will take some minutes, after which the confirmation message will be displayed .

As each banknote is accepted, the monitor window will update the amount recorded in the relevant counter.
It is possible to calibrate the Note Validator, as well as to set it for High Discrimination Rate or else for
Low Discrimination Rate (
see Sections C and D).
B)
UPDATE BY UNIVERSAL PROGRAMMING KIT
B1- Connect the power supply box to the 24Vdc
input
on the slant side of the programmer box.
B2- Connect the USB cable between the PC and the USB-A slot on
the slant
side of the programmer box, or else
connect the RS232 cable between the PC and the socket located
on the
slant side of the programmer box.
B3- Record the positions of the Dip-Switches in the validator.
Then move all
Dip-Switches to OFF, but keep DS 1 to ON.
B4- Connect the 10p/10p cable between the BillyOne 10p socket and the 10p
connector on the cctalk side of the programmer box.
Otherwise make use of the
4p/10p cable from the same cctalk side.
B5- Make sure that the set COM Port is the one where the PC detects the programming interface (check Control Panel /
Device Management on your PC); if necessary, change the setting to the correct Port no.
B6- Turn on power to the programming box (press green switch): the reader will blink green. COM port:
the
software
will find it automatically; otherwise, see NOTIC in Section at end of this paper
.
B7- Open the application “AlbericiUpgLettore.exe”. The following message will be shown:
Press “No” in case you want to use again the same file for another BillyOne note acceptor.

ANTI-FRAUD SETTING (HIGH vs LOW DISCRIMINATION)
In the ‘Options’ Menu select ‘Advanced’; the
following prompt will be shown:
Tick the ‘
nable advanced functionalities’ box, then press OK button. When so preset, the validator will
prompt
you to choose between High Sensibility (factory default) and Low Sensibility of the optic sensors,
whenever you will try to start the Calibration process.

CALIBRATION OF THE NOTE VALIDATOR
Calibration sho ld be carried o t when acceptance rate decreases s bstantially, and/or after
thoro gh
cleaning of the note validator and particularly of its optic sensors glasses.
F ll Calibration req ires sage of the Alberici Calibration Card (AA-0245). A more basic calibration
(Partial
Calibration) can be carried out as well without such Card.
Open the Tools Menu and select ‘
Calibration’
, then
‘Full Calibration’ or ‘Partial Calibration’
.
D1- F ll Calibration. Choosing the first one, yo will be prompted to se the Calibration
card. Place the
Card and press OK.

Once the Calibration Card has been positioned , press the OK button and
wait until confirmation of process ended.
D2- If ‘Partial calibration’ is chosen, and the ‘Enable advanced f nctionalities’ box has been ticked in

COM PORT:
NOTIC : The software finds automatically the
COM Port no. .
Should the COM Port set by
the
application be not the correct one, a dialogue
window
will inform that the COM
Port is wrong
.
In this case, open the Options menu and set
the proper COM Port No.
