Recent Apps button
• Tap to view applications you’ve recently accessed.
Home button
• From any application or screen, tap to return to the Home screen.
• Press and hold to access Google Assistant. You can get help such as getting directions and restaurant
information based on the content detected on the screen.
Back button
• Tap to go back to the previous screen, or close a dialog box, options menu, the Notification panel, etc.
Power key
• Press: Lock the screen or light up the screen.
• Press and hold: Show the popup menu to select from Power Off/Restart/Screenshot.
• Press and hold the Power key and Volume key to capture a screenshot.
• Press and hold the Power key for at least 10 seconds to force restart.
Volume Keys
• Adjust alarm and notification volume.
• Adjusts the media volume while listening to music, watching a video, or streaming content.
• While using the Camera app, press Volume up or down key to take a photo or press and hold to take
several photos.

1.2 Setup
Inserting Nano SIM card and microSDTM card
The Nano SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card identifies your device to the wireless network. A Nano SIM card or
Wi-Fi connection is required to browse the Internet. Your device includes a pre-inserted Nano SIM card.
Insert an optional microSDTM card to expand the storage on your device. Note: microSDTM cards are sold separately.
You don't need to power off your device before inserting or removing the Nano SIM or microSDTM cards.
Your device only supports Nano SIM cards. Do not attempt to insert other SIM types, otherwise you may
damage your device.
SIM
1. Open the slot on back of device. 2. Insert the Nano SIM or microSDTM cards with the gold contacts
facing down. The Nano SIM card goes in the lower slot.
Power on/off
Hold down the Power/Lock key until the screen lights up. If Lock screen settings are enabled, enter the unlock PIN,
password or pattern to access the Home screen.
If you don't know your PIN, password or pattern, or if you have forgotten it, contact your service provider. Do not
store your unlock PIN, password or pattern within your device, instead store it in a location that is accessible without
using device.

Hold down the Power key until the device options appear, select Power off.
Charging
Insert the small end of the charging cable into the charge port, and plug the charger into an electrical outlet.
Note: Please use the cable that came with your device. Using other cables may damage the charging port or reduce
battery performance.
Battery
To optimize battery performance, make sure to fully charge your device before using it for the first time.
To optimize battery life adjust your settings:
1. Brightness level: Lowering your screen brightness level can optimize your battery level. To adjust the brightness
level, swipe up from the Home screen, tap Settings >Display >Brightness level. To lower the brightness level,
slide to the left.
2. Power Saving Mode: Power Saving mode minimizes battery usage to extend battery life. To turn on your Power
Saving mode, swipe up from the Home screen, tap Settings >Battery. Then turn on Standby intelligent power
saving and Battery saver.
3. Screen timeout: Screen timeout will darken the display after a set time of inactivity. To change your Screen
timeout time, swipe up from the Home screen, tap Settings >Display >Sleep. Then select the screen timeout
duration.
Note: The back cover and battery are not removable. Disassembling the device may damage your battery.

Setup your device for the first time
The first time you power on the device, the following setup options will show on the screen:
• Tap to select the device's language, then tap to continue.
• If you haven't already, insert the Nano SIM card, or tap Skip to continue. .
• Connect to an available Wi-Fi network, or tap Skip to continue.
• Set date and time, then tap Next to continue.
• Review Google Services and tap Accept to continue.
• Set a lock to protect your device or select Not now to configure lock screen later.
• Touch FINISH to complete setup.

2.2 Status Bar
From the status bar, you can view both device status (to the right side) and notification information (to the left side).
Here is a list of the icons you might see and their meanings:

Swipe up from the Home screen to open the App list.
3.1 Contacts ...............................................................................................
View and create contacts on your device and synchronize them with your Gmail contacts or other applications on
the web or on your device.
• Tap in the contact list to create a new contact.
• Tap in the contact details screen to edit.
• Tap to add the contact to favorites;tap to remove a contact from favorites.
• Press and hold the contact you want to delete, then tap .
Adding a contact
Tap in the contact list to create a new contact.
You are required to enter the contact's name and other contact information. By scrolling up and down the screen,
you can move from one field to another.

When finished, tap to save.
To exit without saving, you can tap and then tap DISCARD.
Editing your contacts
Tap in the contact details screen to edit.
When finished, tap to save.
Add to/remove from Favorites(1)
Tap a contact to view details then tap to add the contact to favorites.
Tap the star to remove a contact from favorites.
(1) Only device contacts can be added to Favorites.

Deleting a contact
• Press and hold the contact you want to delete, then tap and confirm to delete.
• Tap to select all contacts, then tap and confirm to delete all contacts.
Deleted contacts will also be removed from other applications on the device or web the next time you
synchronize your device.
Sharing a contact
You can share a single contact with others by sending the contact's vCard to them via Messages and Bluetooth.
Select a contact you want to share, touch and then select Share.

From the contact list, you may also make further settings by tapping .

• Merge contacts Tap to merge contacts.
• Display options Set how contacts are sorted and displayed.
• Import/Export Import or export contacts between SIM card, microSD card and device storage.

Choose the default place to save a new contact.
3.2 Messages.............................................................................................
Use the messaging app to send and receive text (SMS) and multimedia (MMS) messages.
Creating a message
On the message list screen, tap to create text/multimedia messages.
Sending a text message
• Enter the name or the phone number of the recipient in the To bar or tap to add recipients from contacts.
• Tap the Type message bar to enter the text of the message.
• Tap to insert emoticons.
• When finished, tap to send the text message.
An SMS message of more than 160 characters will be sent as several SMS. A character counter is displayed on the
right of the text box.

Specific letters (accented) will also increase the size of the SMS, this may cause multiple SMS to be sent to
your recipient.
Sending a multimedia message
MMS enables you to send video clips, images, photos, animations, slides and sounds to other compatible devices
and email addresses.
• Enter the recipient's phone number or email address in the To bar.
• Tap the Type message bar to enter the text of the message.
• Tap to access other options, such as inserting a Contact. Tap to attach a picture, video, or audio.
• When finished, tap to send the multimedia message.
Managing messages
New messages will appear in the Status bar as a notification will appear in the Status bar as a notification. Drag
down the Status bar to open the Notification panel, tap the new message to open and read it. You can also open
Messages and tap on the message thread to open it.
Messages are displayed as conversations in the order received.

Tap the message thread to open the conversation.
• Tap to save the number or email address to Contacts or view the contact details if the number has been
saved.
• To reply to a message, enter text in the Type message bar. Tap to attach a media file. Tap for more options.

Setting up Email
To set up your email account, tap Gmail from the Home screen.
An email wizard will guide you through the steps to set up an email account.
1. Select Take me to Gmail to setup an account, or select Add an email address to setup a different email account.
2. Enter account credentials and confirm email account settings. Tap Next to continue through setup process.
3. If the account you wish to add is not listed, tap Other and select Manual Setup to enter the server and port
credentials.
4. Tap Finish when setup is complete. To add additional accounts, tap in the upper left corner, then select
Settings > Add account.
Sending an email
• Tap from the Inbox screen.
• Enter recipient(s) email address(es) in the To field.
• If necessary, tap Add Cc/Bcc to copy or blind copy a recipient to the message.

• Enter the subject and the content of the message.
• Tap to add an attachment.
• If you do not want to send the mail right away, you can tap and Save draft or touch the Back key to save a draft.
• Tap to send.
If you do not want to send or save the email, you can tap and then select Discard.
To add a signature to your emails, tap and select Settings, choose the account and tap Mobile Signature to edit.

Using the Chrome browser you can enjoy surfing the Web. Your bookmarks, browsing history, and settings across all
devices with the browser installed can be synchronized with your Google account.
To get onto the Web, tap on Chrome from the Home screen or application list.
3.5 Calendar ..............................................................................................
Use Calendar to keep track of important meetings, appointments, and more.
To access the function, slide up from the Home screen, then tap Calendar.

Creating a new event
You can add new events from any Calendar view.
• Tap .
• Fill in all required information for this new event. If it is a whole-day event, tap for All-day.
• Enter the email addresses of the guests you want to invite with commas to separate. The guests will receive an
invitation from Calendar and Email.
• When finished, tap SAVE.
Quickly create an event while in Day, 3 Day or Week view. Tap on an empty time spot to open the New event screen.
Deleting or editing an event
• To delete or edit an event, tap the event to enter its details screen.
• Tap to edit the event.
• Touch and Delete to remove the event.
