Getting Started
Idenfy all the parts packaged in the carton against the parts list. Remove all protecve
materials and place parts on a non-abrasive surface to avoid scratching. Please contact our
customer service center (Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM ET) at 1855 965 5310.
Cauon
Read all the instrucons before assembly. Failure to do so may result in faulty assembly and
potenal injury! Assemble product on a so, non-abrasive surface such as carpet or cardboard to
avoid damaging the item. Seek assistance to assemble bulky or heavy items. Aer nal
alignments, make sure all bolts and nuts are securely ghtened with screw covers pressed in
place.

1. WORK AREA SAFETY
a) Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluered or dark areas invite accidents.
b) Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of
ammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust
or fumes.
c) Keep children and bystanders away while operang a power tool. Distracons cause a
lose control.
2. ELECTRICAL SAFETY
a) The charger’s plug must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not
use any adapter plugs with grounded power tools. Unmodied plugs and matching
outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.
b) Use this baery-operated tool only with its specically designated baery pack. The
use of any other baeries may create a risk of re.
c) Do not expose power tools to rain or wet condions. Water entering a power tool will
increase the risk of electric shock.
d) A baery-operated tool with integrated baery or a separate baery pack must be
recharged only with the manufacturer specied charger for the baery. A charger that
may be suitable for one type of baery may create a risk of re when used with another
baery.
3. PERSONAL SAFETY
a) Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operang a power
tool. Do not use a power tool while red or under the inuence of drugs, alcohol or
medicaon. A moment of inaenon while operang power tools may result in serious
personal injury.
b) Use personal protecve equipment. Always wear eye protecon. Protecve equipment
such as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protecon used for
appropriate condions will reduce personal injuries.
c) Prevent unintenonal starng. Ensure the switch is in the o-posion before
connecng to power source, picking up or carrying the tool. Carrying power tools with
your nger on the switch or plugging in power tools that have the switch on invites
accidents.

d) Remove any adjusng key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key le
aached to a rotang part of the power tool may result in personal injury.
e) Do not overreach. Keep proper foong and balance at all mes. This enables beer control of
the power tool in unexpected situaons.
f) Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing, neckes, or jewelry that can get caught and draw
you into moving parts. Work gloves and nonskid footwear are recommended when working
outdoors. Also wear protecve hair covering to contain long hair.
g) Protect your hearing. Wear hearing protecon during extended periods of operaon.
h)Keep hands and feet away from the cung area.
4. OPERATOR SAFETY
a) Wear protecve glasses or goggles.
b) Never allow children or people unfamiliar with the instrucons to use the machine.
c) Stop using the machine while people, especially children, or pets are nearby.
d) Only use the machine in daylight or good arcial light.
e) Before using the machine and aer any impact, check for signs of wear or damage, and repair
as necessary.
f) Never operate the machine with damaged guards or without the guards in place.
g) Keep hands and feet away from the cung head at all mes.
h) Take care against injury from any device ed for trimming the lament line length. Aer
extending new cuer line always return the machine to its normal operang posion before
switching on.
i) Never modify machine for use with metal cung elements.
j) Never use replacement parts or accessories not provided or recommended by the manufac-
turer.
k) Always ensure that machine’s venlaon openings are kept clear of debris.
5. BATTERY SAFETY RULES
a) Do not charge baery in rain or wet locaons.
b) Do not use baery-powered appliance in the rain.
c) Remove or disconnect the baery before servicing, cleaning or removing material from the
gardening appliance.
d) Do not dispose of the baery in a re, the cell may explode. Check with local codes for pos-
sible special disposal instrucons.
e) Do not open or mulate the baery. Released electrolyte is corrosive and may cause damage
to the eyes or skin. It may be toxic if swallowed.
f) Exercise care in handling baeries. Be careful not to short the baery with conducng materi-
als such as rings, bracelets and keys. The baery or conductor may overheat and cause burns.

g) Be aware of your work environment. Baeries can explode in the presence of a source of igni-
on, such as a pilot light. To reduce the risk of serious personal injury, never use any cordless
product in the presence of open ame. An exploded baery can propel debris and chemicals. If
exposed, ush with water immediately.
h) Do not crush, drop or damage baery pack. Do not use a baery pack or charger that has
been dropped or received a sharp blow. A damaged baery is subject to explosion. Properly
dispose of a dropped or damaged baery immediately.
i) Proper charging temperature. For best results, baery pack should be charged in a locaon
where the temperature is between 41°F and 104°F (5°C to 40°C). Charging me will increase if
the baery is charged in lower or higher temperature than specied.
j) Pay aenon to baery leakage. Under extreme usage or temperature condions, baery
leakage may occur. If baery liquid comes in contact with your skin, wash immediately with soap
and water, then neutralize with lemon juice or vinegar. If liquid gets into your eyes, ush them
with clean water for at least 10 minutes and, seek immediate medical aenon. Following this
rule will reduce the risk of serious personal injury.
6. CHARGER SAFETY RULES
a) Do not place any object on top of charger or place the charger on a so surface that might
block the venlaon slots and result in excessive internal heat. Place the charger in a posion
away from any heat source. The charger is venlated through slots in the top and the boom of
the housing.
b) Do not mount charger on wall or permanently ax charger to any surface. The charger is
intended to be used on a at, stable surface (i.e., table top, bench top).
c) Do not operate charger with damaged cord or plug have those replaced immediately.
d) Do not operate charger if it has received a sharp blow, been dropped, or otherwise damaged
in any way. Take it to an authorized service center.
e) Do not disassemble charger. Take it to an authorized service center when service or repair is
required. Incorrect reassembly may result in a risk of electric shock, electrocuon or re.
f) Disconnect the charger from the outlet before aempng any cleaning. This will reduce the
risk of electric shock. Removing the baery pack will not reduce this risk.
g) NEVER aempt to connect two or more chargers together.
h) The charger is designed to operate on standard house hold electrical power (120 Volts). Do
not aempt to use it on any other voltage.

WARNING: To avoid injury and to reduce the risk of electrical shock or re:
Replace the baery pack or charger immediately if the baery case or charger cord is damaged.
Always make sure the string trimmer switch is OFF before inserng or removing the baery pack.
Always make sure the baery pack is removed and the switch is OFF, before assembling, inspect-
ing, adjusng, or maintaining any other part of the string trimmer.
Read, understand, and follow the Baery Charger instrucons.
1. Unpacking
Carefully remove the machine and accessories from the box. Make sure that all items listed on
previous page are included. Inspect the machine carefully to make sure no breakage or damage
occurred during shipping. Keep the packing material unl you have carefully inspected and sat-
isfactorily operated the machine.
2. Charge the baery (Fig2)
WARNING: Never aempt to open the baery pack for any reason. If baery pack case is cracked
or damaged, do not insert into charger. Do not crush, drop or damage baery pack.
Do not use a baery pack or charger that has received a sharp blow, been dropped, run over or
damaged in any way (i.e., pierced with a nail, hit with a hammer or stepped on). Damaged bat-
tery packs should be returned to service center for recycling.
WARNING: Fire hazard. Do not store or carry baery so that metal objects can contact exposed
baery terminals. For example, do not place baery in aprons, pockets, tool boxes, product kit
boxes, drawers, etc.; with loose nails, screws, keys, etc.
Use the charger in normal room temperature whenever possible. To prevent overheang, do not
cover the charger and do not charge baery pack in direct sunlight or near heat sources.
Always unplug the charger from the power supply when there is no baery pack inserted.
-Insert the cord plug into an appropriate AC power outlet. The green LED light comes on indicat-
ing the adapter is ready for use.
-Connect the plug wire to the charger.
-Insert the baery pack into the charger, the green LED light will change to red to indicate
charge. The baery pack will only t into the charger one way; do not force the baery pack. Be
sure that the baery pack is fully inserted into the charger.
-The baery pack will be fully charged aer about 3 hours, and the red LED light will change to
green. Remove the cord plug from the power outlet and remove the baery pack.

Assembly
-The cord, charger and baery pack can be le connected with the green LED indenitely. The
charger will keep the baery pack fresh and fully charged.
-The best storage place is one that is cool and dry away from direct sunlight and excess heat or
cold.
Note: The baery pack needs to be charged before rst use and whenever it is unable to per-
form jobs with sucient power that were easily done previously. Recharge discharged baeries
as soon as possible aer use or baery life may be greatly diminished.
For best results, baery pack should be charged in a locaon where the temperature is between

The adapter, charger and baery pack maybe become warm when charging which is a normal
condion.
3. Assemble the guard (Fig. 3 & 4)
WARNING: Remove the baery pack before aempng to aach the guard. Never operate the
tool without guard rmly in place. The guard must always be on the tool to protect the user
-Push the head rotaon pedal to rotate the cung head to vercal posion, rotate the edge
guard forward to working posion.
-Turn the trimmer upside down so that you are looking down at the spool cap.
-Turn the guard upside down and put it on the motor housing.
-Insert and ghten the screw provided to complete the guard assembly..

4. Assemble the auxiliary handle (Fig. 5)
-Loosen the auxiliary handle knob
-Rotate the auxiliary handle upside to comfortable posion.
-Tighten the auxiliary handle knob.
5. Extend the telescopic tube (Fig. 6)
-Loosen the telescopic knob.
-Extend the tube to comfortable posion.
-Tighten the telescopic knob.
6. Install and remove the baery (Fig.7 & 8)
WARNING! Make certain the lock-o buon is engaged to prevent switch actuaon before re-
moving or installing baery
-To install baery pack, push the baery pack into the slot of the machine, slide the baery pack
unl fully inserted with an audible click.
-To remove baery pack, depress the baery pack release buon, on the back of the baery

WARNING: Always use the correct voltage: the voltage of the power source must match with the
values on the nameplate of the tool.
Switch ON and OFF (Fig 9 & 10)
WARNING: Always use proper eye protecon that conforms to ANSI Z87.1 (CAN/CSA Z94.3) stan-
dards while operang this machine.
Inspect area to be trimmed and remove any wire, cord, or string-like objects which could become
entangled in the rotang line or spool. Be parcularly careful to avoid any wire which might be
bent outwardly into the path of the tool, such as barbs at the base of a chain link fence.
-To switch the trimmer on, push the lock-o buon and squeeze the switch trigger.
-With the unit on, grasp both handles and angle, slowly swinging the trimmer side to
side.
-To switch the trimmer o, squeeze the switch trigger again.
-Restarng the machine aer complete stop will feed the spool line automacally. Do
not bump unit on ground to feed the line.
Note: Trimming ps
Keep the trimmer lted toward the area being cut, this is the most ecient cung area.
The string trimmer cuts when moving the unit from le to right. This will avoid throwing debris
at the operator.
Use the p of the string to do the cung, do not force string head into uncut grass.
Wire and picket fences cause extra string wear, even breakage. Stone and brick walls, curbs and
wood may wear string rapidly.
Avoid trees and shrubs. Tree bark, wood moldings, siding and fence posts can easily be damaged
by the strings.

2. Convert to edging mode (Fig 11 & 12)
-Hold the main handle, push the collar downwards and rotate the lower housing 180°.
-Release the collar to x edger mode and posion the trimmer above the surface with
edge guard to operate as a maintenance edger.
-Restarng the machine aer complete stop will feed the spool line automacally.
-Return to the trimming posion by reverse rotaon aer pushing the collar downwards.
Note: Cung line will wear faster and require more feeding if the cung or edging is done along
sidewalks or other abrasive surfaces or heavier weeds are being cut.

3. Adjust the cung head (Fig 13 & 14)
-Push the head rotaon pedal to rotate the cung head to cut the grass under bush or tree.
-Push the head rotaon pedal to rotate cung head back to return trimming posion.

Operation
WARNING! Remove the baery pack before aempng to replace string spool.
-This trimmer uses 0.055 in. (1.4mm) diameter round nylon line. During use, the ps of
the lines will become frayed and worn, restarng the machine willl feed and trim a
fresh length of line.
-When no line is fed, remove the baery pack and turn the machine upside-down so
that you are looking down at the spool cap.
-Depress the tabs and remove the spool cap from the spool housing in the trimmer
head.
-Grasp empty spool retainer with one hand and pull it out.
-Unfasten the line end of new string spool and guide the line into the eyelet, push the
spool onto the head and rotate the spool slightly unl it’s fully inserted.
-Align the tabs on the spool cap with the slots in the housing.
-Push the cap onto the housing unl it snaps securely into place.
WARNING! To avoid tool damage; if the cung line protrudes beyond the line cut-o blade, cut
it o so that it just reaches the blade.

WARNING! Always ensure that the tool is switched o and the baer is removed from tool before
making any adjustments or performing maintenance procedures
WARNING! Use only original manufacturer’s replacement parts, accessories and
aachments. Failure to do so can cause possible injury and poor
performance.
Maintenance and Cleaning
1. Always remove the baery from the tool before doing any maintenance or cleaning work.
2. For safe and proper working, always keep the tool and venlaon slots clean.
3. Regularly check to see if any dust or foreign material has entered the slots near the motor
and around the on/o switch.
4. Use a so brush to remove any accumulated dust.
5. Wear safety glasses to protect your eyes while cleaning.
6. If the body of the tool needs cleaning, wipe it with a so damp cloth.
WARNING! Do not use cleaning agents to clean the plasc parts of the tool. A mild
detergent on a damp cloth is recommended. Water must never come into
contact with the tool.
7. Never use causc agents to clean plasc parts.
8. Lubricate all moving parts at regular intervals.
9. When not in use, the machine should be stored indoors in a dry, locked up place—out of the
reach of children and untrained users.
