1. INTRODUCTION
The DBX -10 is a sound detector/monitor that allows you to hear sounds via a
wireless microphone located in the receiver of the transmitter on the parent unit.
The DBX-10 can be used as a baby monitor for babies or small children, or as a
sound monitor for elderly.
2. INTENDED USE
The DBX-10 is a sound alarm/detector only to be used for household use. The
baby monitor should only be used as an assisting device and not as a substitute
for an adult, baby-sitter or care giver.
3. DECLARATION OF CONFORMITY
The declaration of conformity is available on the Alecto website at: www.alecto.
info.
4. PERMITTED USE
The DBX-10 operates at a frequency of 2.4GHz. The use of this baby monitor is
allowed in all EU countries. In France, Italy, Russia and the Ukraine the monitor is
only permitted indoors.
5. ENVIRONMENT (Disposal)
Should this product reach the end of its life cycle, do not dispose of it
into the normal household waste. Rather take it to a collection point for
the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment.
Old or damaged batteries should be disposed of in an environmentally friendly
manner according to your local regulations.

7. INSTALLATION
Parent Unit:
Connect one of the included power adaptors with the DC5V connecti-
on to the left side of the parent unit and place the adapter into a 230V
electrical outlet. The parent unit is now ready for use.
If you would like to use the parent unit cordless, slide
down the battery cover on the back of the parent unit
and place the 3 1,5V batteries (type: AAA) into the
parent unit.
You can use either normal or rechargeable batteries. The parent
unit does not have a battery charging function. Rechargeable
batteries need to be charged separately.
Batteries are not included.
The parent unit comes with a belt clip. The belt clip allows you
to carry and use the baby unit hands free.
Baby unit:
Connect one of the included power adaptors with the DC5V connec-
tion located on the right side of the baby unit and place the adapter
into the 230V electrical power outlet.
The baby unit is now ready for use.
The baby unit does not have a battery operating function.
Placement:
Place the baby unit in the nursery room approximately 2 meters away from the
baby.
MAKE SURE THAT THE BABY CANNOT TOUCH THE ADAPTER
CORD. ALSO MAKE SURE THE BABY UNIT CANNOT FALL INTO THE
CRIB.
Do not place the baby unit or the parent unit in direct sunlight or in a damp place.
The baby monitor is not waterproof. Too much moisture may cause damage to the
electronics.

8. HOW TO USE
Switch on: (parent unit + baby unit)
Hold down the button until the power
light comes on after about 3 seconds.
When the power adapter is connected to the
parent unit the power light will light continuously.
When the baby unit is powered with batteries the
power light will ash.
Press the again for 3 seconds to turn off the unit.
Volume:
Pressing the and buttons on the parent unit allows you to set
the volume of the sound coming from the speaker. You have a choi-
ce of ve volume levels and volume off. Two beep tones will sound
when the maximum volume has been reached.
Sound Lights:
The parent unit comes with ve audio lights. The
louder the sound that the baby unit picks up, the more the lights
will show up on the parent unit. In this way, you will know when
the baby is crying, even when the sound of the parent unit is
switched off.
Link check:
A red link light will ash and a beep tone will sound continuously if
the connection between the parent unit and the baby unit has been
broken. This can happen if the parent unit is out of range from the
baby unit or because the power on the baby monitor has run down.
Once the connection is restored again, the
light will go out and the beep tones will stop.

Change Channel:
The signal between the parent unit and the baby unit has been encrypted. Only
the parent unit which is linked from the factory to the baby unit can make the
sound audible.
It can be that your baby monitor gets interference from another
station, baby monitor or your wireless WiFi router when they are
broadcasting from exactly the same channel (frequency). If this is
the case, you can simply change the channel by pressing the
button on the baby unit. See page 2 for the 12 available frequen-
cies.
Battery indication:
The life of the parent unit when operating on batteries is 12 to 15 hours (depen-
ding on the use of the monitor and the condition/capacity of the batteries).
Should the battery run low several alert beeps will sound about 30 minutes before
the parent unit shuts down.
Now replace the batteries or if you are using rechargeable batteries, charge them
in an external battery charger (the parent unit has no battery charging function).

9. Others
General:
The baby monitor should only be used as an aid and never as a replacement for
an adult or baby–sitter.
Check the function ability of the baby monitor each time before use. In addition to
checking the range and connection control of the DBX-10, it is recommended to
regularly check the connection during usage.
The DBX-10 should not be used for anything else than for detecting sounds from
within your own private premises; anyone else within the listening perimeter of the
baby monitor should be informed.
A licence is not required in order to use the wireless baby monitor. The system
can be used as needed within the home. There is no guarantee, however, that the
signal will always have an interference-free signal.
If the baby monitor and parent unit are not being used, it is advisable to turn them
off using the on/off button.
Range:
The connection range of the baby monitor is up to 300 meters in an open eld
and 50 meters in a house.
System Expansion:
The technology behind the DBX-10 makes it possible for more baby monitors
(baby unit and parent unit) to be used next to each other in order to monitor mul-
tiple baby rooms simultaneously and still have an interference-free signal; each
parent unit and baby unit is equipped with a unique code. This code prevents
the DBX-10 from picking up sounds from other baby monitors in the area, or that
other baby monitors pick up the sounds coming from your baby monitor.
It is not possible to expand your DBX-10 with additional single baby units or single
parent units.
Maintenance:
Clean the baby monitor with a damp cloth; never use chemical cleaners.
Before cleaning any attached power adapters should be disconnected.
