Thank you for purchasing our alfda® ALR100 desktop air purifier.
Please read these operating instructions carefully before starting up your air purifier for the first time. This manual contains important information
and notes for the optimal function and handling of the unit. Please keep these instructions in a safe place after reading them if you have any
questions at a later moment.

BREATHING HEALTHY AIR...
We breathe 10,000 liters of air a day without worrying about air quality. Our indoor air is often polluted by pollen, harmful gases, odours, dust
particles, animal hair or bacteria and viruses. But also the increasing fine dust pollution in cities caused by cars, trucks and industrial plants must
not be ignored. In addition, the air indoors is up to 8 times more polluted than outside, so that the use of a HEPA air purifier, especially for allergy
sufferers or asthmatics, is an important support and improvement of well-being.

ATTENTION:
- The device is not intended for use by children or persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities. Lack of experience and
knowledge may pose a potential danger during use. Therefore, such persons should use the air purifier only under the explicit instruction
and supervision of another person responsible for safety. This person should also ensure that children do not play with the unit. Cleaning
and maintenance work must never be carried out by children without supervision.
- If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, customer service or a similarly qualified person to avoid danger.

FORBIDDEN PLEASE NOTE
Note: If the power cord is damaged or technical problems occur, please make sure the air purifier is turned off, unplug the power cord, and contact
your dealer or alfda Service Hotline. Continued operation despite technical problems may result in equipment failure, electric shock, fire, or the like.
Warning notice
Please avoid children using or touching the air purifier without supervision.
Never insert or remove the mains plug with wet hands. This may cause electric shock.
Do not make any technical changes, modifications or repairs to the air purifier. Failure to do so may result in damage or fire. In case of
problems, please contact the seller of your unit or the alfda service hotline.

If possible, do not use extension cords or additional plug connections. The air purifier may only be operated with the specified voltage.
Otherwise there is a risk of fire!
Insert the mains plug completely into the socket. Doing so may result in heat, fire, or electric shock. Do not use damaged plugs or
defective sockets.
Avoid water on the surface of the device. This may result in a short circuit or electric shock.
Disconnect the air purifier from the power supply before cleaning or maintenance work. Doing so may cause the unit to start suddenly,
resulting in electric shock or personal injury.
Do not insert metallic or other objects into the device. This may result in injury or electric shock.
Do not attempt to repair yourself if the cable or power plug is damaged. This may result in a short circuit, electric shock, or fire. Please
return the air purifier to your dealer for repair or contact the alfda service hotline.
Dust on the plug can weaken the insulation and cause fire. Unplug the plug from the outlet and clean
and then he'd take it with a dry cloth. Please disconnect the air purifier from the power supply if you will not be using it for a long time.

Precautions
Do not switch on the air purifier when using insecticides in the room.
Do not use the appliance in rooms with flame soot, such as in the kitchen. This may result in damage to the appliance and cause health
problems.
Do not blow flammable substances or smoke from lit cigarettes into the device. This may cause fire.
Do not use the air purifier in wet areas or in rooms with high humidity or high temperatures, such as bathrooms. Failure to do so may
result in electric shock or fire.
Keep the air purifier away from alcohol, organic impregnants or insecticides.
This may result in mechanical damage, short circuits, electric shock, injury or fire.
Please ensure adequate ventilation when working with fire or heat sources in the room.
Please handle the plug directly when pulling the mains plug and do not pull on the cable. Doing so may result in a short circuit, electric
shock, or fire.

If the following situations happen, please disconnect the device from the power supply immediately:
- The touch panel switches do not work
- The power cord or plug is hot
- The device causes strange odours, extraordinary noises or vibrations
- Unusual functions or failures of the device occur
Filter Cleaning Technology
A four-stage filter system consisting of a prefilter, HEPA particle filter (H12), absorbing activated carbon and a cold catalysis filter ensures highly
efficient cleaning of the room air. With an efficiency of over 99.5% at a particle size of 0.3 µm, the air purifier not only filters fine dust, pollen, mould
spores and flying house dust, but also removes unpleasant odours and gaseous pollutants such as volatile organic compounds, formaldehyde and
xylene from solvents.
An ionizer that can be switched on generates negatively charged ions and thus ensures a "refreshing of the room air" (capacity 5,000,000 / cm³).

Installation instructions
- When installing the air purifier, maintain a minimum distance of 30 cm from the air inlet and outlet on all sides to walls and furniture.
- Do not use the air purifier in front of hot sources such as heaters, stoves or similar appliances.
Connection to power supply
The air purifier is connected to the mains by means of an external power supply unit which is included in the scope of delivery (DC direct current
power supply unit).

Please operate the air purifier exclusively with the DC power supply included in the scope of delivery and do not use any other external power
supplies. First insert the plug of the power supply unit into the socket for the mains cable on the air purifier before plugging the power plug into the
socket. Please make sure that all connectors are connected correctly.

Filter replacement
The filter change indicator
When the filter change indicator lights up, it indicates that the filter's service life is nearing its end. Please insert a new replacement filter as soon as
possible to ensure continued efficient operation. After replacing the filter, press the "Timer" button for 3 seconds. This will reset the filter change
indicator and stop glowing.
Replacement filters can be ordered comfortably in our online shop https://www.allergiker-shop-alfda.de under the article number 159910.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The activated carbon in the filter has a limited shelf life. Please take this into account when stocking. Activated carbon also
decomposes without the air purifier being in operation. We therefore recommend changing the filter after 12 months at the latest, even if you only
use the air purifier occasionally.
Replacing the filter
1. Turn off the air purifier and unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. Place the appliance face down on a flat surface. Unscrew the
cover by turning the cover counterclockwise.
2. Remove the plastic film from the new filter.
3. Now insert the new filter into the air purifier.
4. Then remount the cover by pressing lightly and tighten the
cover clockwise.
5. Turn the air purifier back to its original position so that the
unit stands on the bottom of the base cover.

OPERATION & FUNCTION
On/Off switch (Power)
Press the on/off switch (Power) to switch the air purifier on or off.
Child-Lock: Press and hold the Power button for 5 seconds until the air purifier beeps once. This will lock the touch panel and
protect the unit from unwanted setting changes. You can release the lock by pressing the on/off switch again for 5 seconds. A
short beep will also confirm that the lock has been released.
Wahl der Fan speed selection
Press the fan speed button to select between low, medium and high power levels. At low power levels, the fan rotates
at a at a low speed, so that quiet operation of the device is guaranteed. At the high power level, the fan rotates at
maximum sp maximum speed, which produces the maxium of airflow. Each time the fan speed button is pressed, the power level
is changed: from low to medium from medium to high
Sleep mode: The sleep mode is the night mode. Press the fan speed button for 2 seconds. A short beep signals the activation of the sleep mode.
The fan speed is reduced to a minimum so that extremely quiet operation is guaranteed. In addition, all light sources on the display are deactivated.
By pressing any button, you can switch the sleep mode off again (see figure 2).

Set operating time (timer)
By pressing the "Timer" key, you activate the interval mode. You can choose between an operating time of 2, 4 or 8 hours.
Each press of the button changes the operating time from 2 hours to 4 hours and from 4 hours to 8 hours. The air purifier stops
operation as soon as the selected operating time is reached.
Ionizer (with night light function)
If you press the "Ionizer" key, the switchable ionizer is activated in addition to the filter function. This produces negatively
charged oxygen ions and thus ensures a "refreshing of the room air" (capacity 5,000,000 / cm³). When the ioniser is switched
on, the colour ring on the control panel illuminates green. You can also use this function as a night light. Press the "Ioniser"
button again to switch it off and the colour ring illumination goes out.
CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
ATTENTION: Please be sure to disconnect the mains plug from the socket before carrying out any cleaning or maintenance work on the air purifier
-Clean the housing of the air purifier with a damp cloth and wipe it dry afterwards.
-If the unit is very dirty, you can also use a neutral cleaning agent. Please dilute this before use.
-Never clean the air purifier with solvents, petrol, alcohol or the like. This can lead to deformation or discoloration of the housing.
-The filter element can be carefully cleaned at regular intervals with a vacuum cleaner. Replace the filter when the filter change indicator
lights up. A saturated filter only achieves a reduced to no cleaning performance.
-After replacing the filter, press the "Timer" button for 3 seconds. This will reset the filter change indicator and it will stop glowing.

WARRANTY TERMS
Our products are subject to strict quality control. If the air purifier you have purchased still does not function properly, we regret this very much and
ask you to contact our authorised customer service.
The warranty period is 2 years from the date of purchase. The warranty applies to the country to which the air purifier was delivered by the
specialist dealer. During the warranty period, we will repair or replace equipment that is defective due to defects in materials or workmanship, at our

option. Replaced equipment or parts of equipment become our property. The warranty services do not extend the warranty period for replaced
parts, nor do they initiate a new warranty.
Warranty claims must be asserted immediately after becoming aware of the defect within the warranty period.
The following steps are necessary to assert the guarantee:
Please contact our customer service by E-Mail ([e-mail]) and describe the problem. Please include your name and the invoice number of
the proof of purchase. If a return is agreed, return the unit securely packaged at your expense to the customer service. Enclose a copy of the proof
of purchase on which you note the defect. If the defect is within the scope of our warranty, you will receive a repaired or new device back postage
paid.
Warranty claims are excluded for damages caused by:
- Abuse or improper treatment
- External influences (moisture, grease, heat, overvoltage, dust, etc.)
- Failure to observe the safety precautions applicable to the device
- Non-observance of the operating instructions
- Use of force (e.g. impact, shock, fall)
- Interventions that were not carried out from a service address authorized by us
- Unauthorized repair attempts
- Returned in packaging that is not safe for transport
Furthermore, filter inserts and batteries are not covered by warranty as they are consumables.
Defects or damage to the device not (or no longer) covered by the warranty will be repaired against reimbursement of costs if necessary. For an
individual offer, please contact our customer service. In this case the shipping costs are at your expense.

NOTES ON DISPOSAL
Old electrical appliances should not be disposed of with household waste!
In accordance with Directive 2002/96/EC and national laws, electrical and electronic equipment must be disposed of separately from general
household waste by the authorities designated for this purpose. This can be done by returning the device when purchasing a similar one or by
returning it to an authorised collection point for the recycling of old electrical and electronic equipment. Please dispose of batteries from the remote
control separately as described below:

In connection with the sale of batteries or the delivery of devices containing batteries, we are obliged to inform you of the following:
You are legally obliged to return used batteries as an end user. You can return old batteries which we carry or have carried as new batteries in our
range free of charge to our dispatch warehouse (Wörth 19, 94034 Passau).
The symbols shown on the batteries have the following meaning:
The symbol of the crossed-out dustbin means that the battery must not be disposed of with household waste.
Pb = Battery contains more than 0.004% lead by mass.
Cd = battery contains more than 0,002 % cadmium by mass
Hg = battery contains more than 0,0005 % mercury by mass
