Brief Introduction
A-Link 3GU USB modem is a type of multi-mode, 3G wireless USB modem,
applicable for HSDPA/HSUPA/WCDMA/EDGE/GPRS/GSM. With USB interface to
connect to PC, it integrates functions of modem and combines mobile communication
with the internet perfectly. Via HSDPA/HSUPA/WCDMA/EDGE/GPRS/GSM mobile
network, it carries out Data service and SMS services, helping you break away from
limitation of time and zone, and communicate wirelessly anytime and anywhere.

Quick Installation Guide
1. Hardware Installation
A) Insert the SIM card into the 3GU USB modem:
Insert the SIM card with the metal contact tip face up into the 3GU SIM card
tray tightly. See step 1. on below picture.
Put SIM card tray back to 3GU USB modem. See step 2. on below picture.

B) Insert the 3GU USB modem into PC:
NOTE! Before you insert 3GU USB modem, turn ON your PC and make
sure that you have necessary updates installed to your operating system.
(Example Windows2000 Service Pack 4 or newer and WindowsXP Service
Pack 2 or newer)Instructions Linux operating systems can be found from
modem memory or from website http://www.a-link.com.
Insert the 3GU USB modem into PC’s USB port. See step 1. on below
picture. You can also use provided USB cable to get better connection
performance. See step 2. on below picture. When the indicator led turns on,
the 3GU USB modem is properly inserted.

2. Software Installation
A) Windows 2000/XP/Vista
zThe installation pop-up window appears on display if the PC’s system
supports installation automatically. (If the installation auto run failed, please
run “QsSetup.exe” program)
zSelect the language applicable to the operating system, click “Next”.
zChoose “I accept the terms of the license agreement”, click “Next”.

zConnection Manager is now installed and ready to use. If your SIM card
request PIN code, you can enter it now. Select used profile (operator) and
press “Connect” button to connect Internet.
Note! After the installation, a shortcut icon “Connection Manager” is created on
the desktop. Select on the computer “Start” menu “All Programs ÆA-Link”,
and there is a program group listed in.

B) Mac OS 10.4.9 and later
(Mac OS versions supported: Tiger and Leopard on Intel hardware)
zInsert the 3GU USB Modem to Mac PC free USB port and open icon
"A-LINK_MODEM" appeared on the desktop. Double-click the
“A-LINK_MODEM” icon.
zDrag the Mac OS setup icons "3GU USB modem_setup.dmg" and
“MACUSBDriver.dmg” from A-LINK_MODEM media to the desktop.
zOn the Desktop, click on "3GU USB modem_setup.dmg" to open the
installation wizard. Follow the instructions proposals for installation.

zAt the end of the Installations close the book "3GU USB modem_setup"
on the desktop
zClick icon "MACUSBDriver.dmg" on the Desktop to install the driver for
3GU modem. Follow the instructions proposals for installation
zAccept the License Agreement and start the Installation.
zThe installation is finished. Mac OS needs to be restarted

zLaunch the software “3GU USB modem” from the applications menu.
zConnection Manager is now installed and ready to use. If your SIM card
request PIN code, you can enter it now. Select profile (operator) using
““icon and press “Connect” button to connect Internet.

How to use the 3GU USB modem
Please prefer the User Guide or Connection Manager “Help” for more detailed
function description of Connection Manager.
Click any icon on the main menu to start corresponding function.
Connect When correct profile is selected, click “Connect” button. If
succeeded, you can surf on the Internet. With “More
Profiles” button you can edit or add more profiles.
Internet Click “Internet” button to view the data flow.
SMS Click “SMS” button to do the SMS relative operations.
Contacts Click “Contacts” button to do the phonebook relative
operations.
Options Make general setting, SMS setting, network setting,
security setting, sound setting, flow warning setting and
check the version information, etc.
Help Choose “Help” menu to view online help.
Notice: On some version Vista system, you may need to turn off the "User
Account Control (UAC)" function. Please select the Windows "Control
Panel"/"User Account"/"Enable/Disable User Account Control" and turn off
the function.
Modem is in accordance with directive 1999/5/EY (CE).
