Preface
Read this user manual carefully before using the product. Pictures are shown in this
manual for reference only. Different models and specifications are subject to real
product.
This manual is only for operation instruction, please contact the local distributor for
maintenance assistance. The functions described in this version were updated till April,
2018. In the constant effort to improve the product, we reserve the right to make
functions or parameters changes without notice or obligation. Please refer to the dealers
for the latest details.
FCC Statement

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
To ensure the best performance from the product, please read all instructions carefully
before using the device. Save this manual for further reference.
Unpack the equipment carefully and save the original box and packing material for
possible future shipment.
Follow basic safety precautions to reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock and injury
to persons.
Do not dismantle the housing or modify the module. It may result in electrical shock
or burn.
Using supplies or parts not meeting the specifications of product may cause damage,
deterioration or malfunction.
Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
To prevent fire or shock hazard, do not expose the unit to rain, moisture or install this
product near water.
Do not put any heavy items on the extension cable in case of extrusion.
Do not remove the housing of the device as opening or removing housing may
expose you to dangerous voltage or other hazards.
Install the device in a place with fine ventilation to avoid damage caused by
overheat.
Keep the module away from liquids.
Spillage into the housing may result in fire, electrical shock, or equipment damage. If
an object or liquid falls or spills on to the housing, unplug the module immediately.
Do not twist or pull by force ends of the optical cable. It can cause malfunction.
Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners to clean this unit. Always unplug the power to
the device before cleaning.
Unplug the power cord when left unused for a long period of time.
Information on disposal for scrapped devices: do not burn or mix with general
household waste, and please treat them as normal electrical wastes.

1. Introduction
1.1 Introduction to CVSDIHD-6G
Thanks for purchasing this 6G SDI to HDMI converter! This converter is designed to
convert a SDI input at resolution up to 4K@30Hz 4:4:4 to a HDMI output at maximum
resolution of 4K@30Hz. It has the ability to extract the audio from the SDI signal and
output either stereo analog audio orAES/EBU digital audio, and equipped with SDI
output for connecting SDI display to view the original SDI content. It features an 8-pin
DIP switch to lock or unlock the audio control buttons on the top panel, or to select one
of the external audio options.
1.2 Features
Compatible with SD-SDI, HD-SDI, 3G-SDI and 6G-SDI video signals.
SDI inputs and output resolution is up to 4K@30Hz 4:4:4.
HDMI output resolution is up to 4K@30Hz.
Features SDI output to be connected SDI display for mirrored output.
Supports balanced L/R analog audio or AES/EBU audio outputs.
Features an 8-pin DIP switch on side panel for buttons locking or unlocking and
audio input switching.
Supports firmware update.

3. Panel Description
3.1 Front Panel
①DC 12V: DC barrel connector for AC power adapter.
②POWER LED: The LED illuminates red when power is on.
③SDI IN 1: Primary SDI input port for connecting SDI source devices.
④SDI IN 2: Redundant SDI input port is designed for alternative.
⑤SDI OUT: SDI output port for connecting SDI display.
⑥SDI SOURCE LED:
Illuminates blue when the input signal comes from SDI IN 1 port.
Blinks blue when the input signal comes from SDI IN 2 port.
⑦FW: Micro USB port for firmware update.

3.2 Rear Panel
①HDMI OUT: HDMI output port for connecting HDMI display.
②AUDIO LED: Illuminates blue when the SDI input signal with audio signal.
③L-ANALOG or AES/EBU: TRS audio socket for balanced left channel analog audio
or AES/EBU digital audio output.
④R-ANALOG: TRS audio socket for balanced right channel analog audio output.
3.3 Side Panel
①8-pin DIP switch for buttons locking or unlocking and audio input switching.
When in the lower (1) position, the switch represents “ON”, while putting the switch
in the upper (0) position represents “OFF”.

3.4 Top Panel
①AUDIO: Press the button repeatedly to cycle select analog left, analog right channel,
analog stereo, or AES/EBU digital audio. These three blue LEDs has four status:
AES/EBU L R Description
ON OFF OFF AES/EBU digital audio is selected.
OFF ON OFF Left channel analog audio is selected.
OFF OFF ON Right channel analog audio is selected.
OFF ON ON Left and right channel stereo analog
audio is selected.
②VOLUME: Press the up or down direction button to increase or decrease the
selected output audio.
③MUTE: Press the button to mute or unmute all audio.

4. System Connection
4.1 Usage Precaution
Verify all components and accessories included before installation.
System should be installed in a clean environment with proper temperature and
humidity.
All of the power switches, plugs, sockets, and power cords should be insulated and
safe.
All devices should be connected before power on.

5. Switches Operation
The 8-pin DIP switch on side panel (Please refer to 3.3 Side Panel) provide the
following settings:
The DIP switches status and its corresponding settings are shown at the back of
product.
Switch 8 - ANALOG AUDIO, AES/EBU AUDIO
Put switch 8 on “OFF” to select balanced analog audio, or to “ON” for digital AES/EBU
audio input.
Switch 6 –BUTTONS LOCKING or UNLOCKING
Put switch 6 on “ON” to lock buttons on top panel, or to “OFF” for unlocking.
Switch 2, 3, 4 - SDI AUDIO DE-EMBED BIT 1, BIT 2, BIT 3
Switches 2, 3 and 4 are grouped together to provide 8 different ON/OFF combinations
which allows eight independent pair of audio channels to be de-embedded from SDI
input to HDMI, analog orAES/EBU audio output.

Setting example:
Put switches 2, 3, 4 and 8 on “OFF” position to de-embed SDI audio channels 1 and 2
and output to analog.
The switches status and its corresponding SDI audio selection are shown in the
following table:

7. Troubleshooting & Maintenance
Problems Potential Causes Solutions
Output image with
snowflake.
Bad quality of the connecting
cable. Try another high-quality cable.
Fail or loose connection.

8. Customer Service
The return of a product to our Customer Service implies the full agreement of the terms
and conditions hereinafter. There terms and conditions may be changed without prior
notice.
1) Warranty
The limited warranty period of the product is fixed three years.
2) Scope
These terms and conditions of Customer Service apply to the customer service
provided for the products or any other items sold by authorized distributor only.
3) Warranty Exclusions:
Warranty expiration.
Factory applied serial number has been altered or removed from the product.
Damage, deterioration or malfunction caused by:
Normal wear and tear.
Use of supplies or parts not meeting our specifications.
No certificate or invoice as the proof of warranty.
The product model showed on the warranty card does not match with the
model of the product for repairing or had been altered.
Damage caused by force majeure.
Servicing not authorized by distributor.
Any other causes which does not relate to a product defect.
Shipping fees, installation or labor charges for installation or setup of the product.
4) Documentation:
Customer Service will accept defective product(s) in the scope of warranty coverage
at the sole condition that the defeat has been clearly defined, and upon reception of
the documents or copy of invoice, indicating the date of purchase, the type of
product, the serial number, and the name of distributor.
