Awning frames should be washed with fresh water and mild soap at least once per year.
Sand/dirt and salt will have a tendency to build up on these parts if they are not properly
maintained.
All articulating joints and cables should be lubricated with clear dry silicone spray in order to
keep your awning motion at top performance. All caulked areas should be examined for cracks
that occur over time. This should be addressed with each exterior painting of your home or
every two years.
If you do not wish to wash and lube your awning, please refer back to your local dealer that
installed your product for a service agreement.
Maintenance and Fabric Care:
Fabric Care
One of the best ways to keep your fabric looking good and to delay the need for deep or
vigorous cleaning is to hose fabrics off on a monthly basis with clear water. In most
environments, a thorough cleaning will be needed every two to three years.
When cleaning fabric, it is important to observe the following:
Always use a mild detergent such as Woolite or Dawn. Water should be cold to lukewarm.
Rinse thoroughly to remove all detergent residue. Air dry only. Never apply heat to fabric.
General or light cleaning
To clean your fabric follow these simple steps: Brush off loose dirt. Hose down.
Prepare a cleaning solution of water and mild detergent such as Woolite or
Dawn. Use a soft bristle brush to clean. Allow cleaning solution to soak into the
fabric. Rinse thoroughly until all detergent residues are removed. Air dry. May
not require re-treatment depending on the age of the fabric.
If stubborn stains persist, you can use a diluted chlorine bleach/detergent mixture for spot
cleaning of mildew, roof run-off or other similar stains.
Frame Care
General warnings
Don't leave your awning out during harsh weather conditions, such as heavy rain, strong winds,
or snowstorms. Doing so could cause damage to the fabric, frame, or motor, and may void your
warranty.
Don't force your awning open or closed if it's not operating correctly. This could cause further
damage to the awning's components and may result in costly repairs.
Don't clean your awning with harsh chemicals or abrasive materials. This could cause the fabric
to deteriorate, lose its color, or become brittle. Instead, use a soft brush and a mild soap and
water solution to gently clean the fabric.

Manual Crank or Override Operation
With crank / override operated awnings, you will have what is referred to as a crank
eye located under the operator. In order to operate your screen you must first connect
the “crank handle” into the crank eye. To do this simply insert the hook part attached to
the handle into the crank eye, making sure it seated all the way in, and down, see
below.
The opening and closing turn directions will vary according to which side your
awning is operated from.
TO OPEN
You must first determine the opening turn direction for your awning. To determine this
easily turn your crank handle in a clockwise motion. If you experience resistance, stop
immediately because the cranks bottom stop is engaged. Once you have determined
the opening turn direction, crank your awning until it is almost fully open. You do not
want to have your arms fully locked out. Always leave arms slightly bent, this is best
for operation and wind resistance, allowing flex, see above example.
DO NOT CRANK AWNING BEYOND DESCRIBED STOP POINT.
TO CLOSE
Now that you know the opening turn direction, just crank the awning in opposite
direction inwards until the valance front bar is close to the fabric roll. Please be careful
not to continue turning your crank handle past this stop point as you can cause
damage.
NOTE: IF MOTOR STILL HAS POWER, AND YOU TRY TO CRANK IN
OPPOSITE DIRECTION OF LAST BUTTON PRESS, THE CRANK WILL NOT
WORK. UNIT WILL JUST MAKE BOUNCING MOTION.

Adjustable Pitch
Instructions
A crank adjustable pitch mechanism for a retractable awning is
designed to allow you to adjust the angle of the awning to
provide shade and shelter from the sun and rain. Here are the
general steps to use the crank adjustable pitch mechanism:
Start by opening the retractable awning using the manual or
motorized control mechanism. The awning should be partially
extended before you adjust the pitch.
Locate the crank handle that is typically attached to the pitch
adjustment mechanism after installation. This is the same
handle for the override mechanism.
Insert the crank handle into the adjustment mechanism and
begin turning it to adjust the pitch of the awning. Turning the
crank in one direction will increase the angle of the awning,
while turning it in the opposite direction will decrease the angle.
As you turn the crank, you will notice the front edge of the
awning moving up or down. The goal is to adjust the angle to
the position that provides the optimal amount of shade or
shelter from the sun.
You can now enjoy the benefits of your retractable awning at
the perfect pitch angle.
It's important to note that the exact steps for adjusting the pitch
of a retractable awning. You can always call your local dealer
for further questions.
THIS IS AN IMPORTANT STEP
Damage can occur if pitch setting
is done fully extended.
