Rack Mounting Considerations
Feature
Description
Ambient Operating
Temperature
If installed in a closed or multi-unit rack assembly, the ambient
operatingtemperature of therack environment may be greater than
the ambient temperature of theroom. Therefore, consideration
should be given toinstalling the equipment in an environment
compatible with themanufacturer’s Maximum Recommended
Ambient Temperature (TMRA).
Reduced Airflow
Equipment should be mounted into a rack sothat the amount of
airflow required for safe operationis not compromised.
Mechanical Loading
Equipment should be mounted into a rack sothat a hazardous
condition does not arise due touneven mechanical loading.
Circuit Overloading
Consideration should be given to theconnection of the equipment to
the powersupply circuitry andtheeffect that any possible
overloading of circuits might have on over current protectionand
powersupply wiring.Appropriateconsiderationof equipment
nameplate ratings should be used when addressing thisconcern.
Reliable Ground
A reliable ground must be maintained at all times. To ensure this, the
rack itself should be grounded. Particular attentionshould be given
to powersupply connectionsotherthan the direct connections to the
branch circuit (for example, the use of powerstrips, andso on.).
Installing the System into a Rack
This sectionprovides information oninstalling the StorTrends 3600i/3610i into a rack
with the rack rails provided. If theStorTrends 3600i/3610i has already been mounted into
