I. Characteristics
KitchenextractorhoodIH17115 –QuatroSlim Island90wasdesignedto
removekitchenfumes.Itrequiresinstallationof aconduitdischarging usedairtothe
outside. Theconduit(usuallyapipe, with 150mm)shallnotbelongerthan4-5m.
Thehoodcanoperateasanodorabsorberafterinstallationof anactivecarbon
filter.Insuchcaseaconduitdischargingusedairtotheoutsideisnotnecessary,butit
isrecommendedtoinstallanairexhaustguide.
Thekitchenhoodisanelectrical appliance manufacturedaccordingtoclass II
ofshockprotection.
Ithasitsownlightingand anexhaustfanwhichcanbesettooneof three rotational
speeds.
Thehoodwasdesignedforpermanentinstallationonavertical walloveragas
orelectriccooker.

IV. Operatingconditions
1.Thekitchenhoodwasdesignedforremoval of kitchenfumestotheoutside.It
shouldbeconnectedtoanappropriateventilationduct(donotconnectthehoodtoany
chimney, smokeorflue-gasductswhichareinuse).
2.Thedevice shallbeinstalledatthedistance of at least650 mmabovetheworking
topof anelectriccookerand 700 mm-of agascooker.
3.Donotleaveopenflameunderthehood.Whenremoving potsfromtheburnersset
theflametoitsminimumlevel.
4. Anyfoodcookedinfat shallbeconstantlymonitored, sinceoverheatedfat canignite
veryeasily.
5.Thegreasefilterofyourkitchenhoodshouldbecleanedat leastevery2months,
becauseafiltersoakedwithgreasebecomeseasilyflammable.
6.Pulltheplugof thepowercordfromawall socketbeforeanycleaning,filter
replacementorrepairoperation.
7.Ifanyothernon-electricdevicesareusedinthesameroomasthehood(e.g.liquid
fuelovens,flow-throughorvolumetricwaterheaters),itisnecessarytoprovide
appropriateventilation(airsupply).Safeoperationispossiblewhenduring
simultaneousoperationof thehoodandcombustiondevicesdependentonairsupply
thenegativepressureof notmorethan0.004milibarismaintainedatthelocationof
thesedevicesinsidetheroom(thispointdoesnotapplywhenthehoodisusedasan
odourabsorber).

V. Installation
Toinstall thehoodproceedasfollows:
1. Installtheceiling hanger C,
2. Hangthehoodbody Donthehanger C
3. Connectthehoodtotheventilationduct.
4. Connectthehoodtothepowernetwork.
1. Installationoftheceilingplate
a) Indicatethecenterof thecookerplateontheceiling,
b) Unscrewtheceiling installationplatefromthetopdecorativecover(Fig.3),
place it againstthepositionmarked
ontheceiling,alignitproperlywith
thecooker,markthefixing holes,
c) Drilltheholesmarkedontheceiling
usingdrillsof diameterappropriate
tothepurchasedinstallation
plugs/dowels.Puttheplugsinthe
drilledholesandscrewthe
installationplatetotheceiling.

b). Putthelowerchimneyontotheupperandhold
it inmaximumposition.

betweenhoodandcookingplate(see Fig. 2).
Putdownthelowerchimney, oncorrectplace.
d).Takeoffthealuminumfilters.
Connectthewiresinsidethehood.
Installthefiltersonce again.
e). Connect thehoodintothenet.
Hoodisinstallcorrectly.

3. Connectingtothepowernetworkand operationcheck
Afterconnecting thedevice tothepowersupplynetwork(inaccordance with
therequirementsdefinedabove)it isnecessarytocheckthelightingof thehoodand
whetheritsmotorworkscorrectly.
Thewall socketshall beaccessiblefordisconnectingtheplugafterthehoodis
installed.
4. Settingtheoperationmodeofthekitchenextractorhood
4.1Settingtheairextractormodeofoperationofthehood
Intheextractormodeairisdischargedtotheoutsidebyaspecial conduit.In
thatsettinganycarbonfiltersshallberemoved.
Thehoodcanbeconnectedtotheopeningdischargingairtotheoutsideby
meansofarigidorflexibleconduitof150 mm diameter,andappropriateclampsfor
conduitswhichshouldbepurchasedinashopselling installationmaterials.
Aqualifiedinstallershouldbecommissionedtomaketheconnection.
4.2Settingtheodourabsorber modeofoperationofthehood
In thisoptionfilteredairreturnstotheroomthroughcutoutsonbothsidesof
thetopfunnel.
Inthissettingit isnecessarytoinstallthecarbonfilter;installationoftheair
exhaustguideisrecommended.
4.3Fanspeeds.
Thelowestandmediumspeedsshouldbeusedundernormal conditionsand
withlowconcentrationof fumes.Thetopspeedshouldbeusedincaseofhigh
concentrationof kitchenfumes, e.g.during fryingorgrilling.
All safetyinstructionsincludedinthismanualshallbeobservedwithout
exception!
Greasefiltersand activecarbonfiltersshouldbecleanedandreplaced
accordingtomanufacturer’sinstructions, ormorefrequentlyinperiodsof intensiveuse
(morethan4hoursaday).
Ifagascookerisuseditisforbiddentoleaveuncoveredflame.When
removingpotsfromgasburnersset theflametoitsminimumlevel.
Alwaysmakesurethat flamedoesnotextendoutsidethepot. Suchasituation
causesundesiredenergylossesand dangerousheatbuild-ups.
Thehoodshouldnotbeusedforotherpurposesthanthoseforwhichitwas
designed.

Operationof thehoodcanbecontrolledbymeansof acombinedswitch(Fig.6)
-„+”-hoodon
-„-”-hoodoff,
-„T” –switch-off timer–TIMER
-„L”–lightingon/off.
2.2. Programfunction
Timer function: KitchenextractorhoodIH17115 –QuatroSlimIslandis
equippedwiththeoptionof programmingautomaticswitch-off ofthehoodfanin10-
minuteintervals,up tomaximumdelayof90 minutes.Timer”isactuatedbypressing
„T” buttonduringoperationofthehoodwiththerequiredfanspeed.Thedisplaywill
flashand adotwill appearindicating thatthedeviceisintheswitch-offtime
programmingmode.Thenyoucanprogramthetimeof automaticswitch-offofthe
hoodmotorusing+button,keepinginmindthat thefigureshownonthedisplay
multipliedby10-minutetimeinterval indicatesthemotorswitch-offdelay(e.g.:1=10
minutes, 2=20minutes, 3=30minutesetc.).
Aftersetting thedelayit hastobeconfirmedbypressingTbuttonagain.Thedisplay
will stopflashingandwill showthepreviouslysetspeed,andthepulsatingdotwill
indicatethatthetimetoswitchingoffofthehoodmotorisbeingcounted.
TIMERfunctioncanbecancelledbypressingTbuttonagainduringcounting of the
time.
NOTE:Theprogramalwaysmemorizesthelastdelaysetting.
TIMERfunctionhastobeactuatedwithin20seconds, otherwisethehoodwill
return automaticallytonormaloperation.
Themicroprocessorsystemmay getdeletedorcrash duringmomentaryvoltage
drops inthenetwork,and stoprespondingtocommandsfrom thekeyboard.In
suchcasethehoodhastobedisconnectedfrom and thenconnectedagaintothe
power networkinordertoresetthesystem.

-Signallingof theactivecarbonfilterreplacing:DisplayingoftheletterC220 h.
-Signallingof thealuminiumfiltercleaning:Displayingof theletterFl00h.
Bothfunctionsmentionedabovedonotcollidewiththeworkof theextraction
hood,thenumberof thespeed,however,becomes(from0to4) notvisibletillthe
lettersCorFhavebeendeleted.Afterfilterreplacing orcleaningdeletetherespective
lettersbypushing downthepushbuttonTforabout10seconds.
-Switchingon/off thepushbuttonhighlighting:KeeppushbuttonT(timer)pushed
downforapproximately2seconds.
NOTE: Theswitching-onofthefunctionoftheautomatic switchingoff (timer)
mustbecarriedoutwithin20seconds,sinceotherwise,wheninthemeantimeno
activity hasbeenexecuted,theextractionhoodchangesinto thenormalwork
modeautomatically.Theelectronic systemisprotectedwithaquick-acting250 V
~1,25Acut-out(glass fuseinsert5x20).
Regularmaintenance andcleaningof thedevice will guarantee itsgoodand
fault-less operation,and extenditslife.Attentionshouldbepaidtoreplacinggrease
andcarbonfiltersaccordingtomanufacturer’sinstructions.
1.Cleaning.
Greasefiltersshouldbecleanedeverytwomonthsduringnormaloperationof the
hood, inadishwasherormanually, usingmilddetergentorliquidsoap.
2. Replacement:
Todismantlethefilterproceedasfollows:
a) removethebottomcoverbyreleasing thelockcatch,
b) removethemetalgreasefilter
3.2. Activecarbonfilter(KF17141)
1.Functiondescription.
Activecarbonfiltersonlyareusediftheextractionhoodisnotconnectedtothe
ventilationtube.
Anactivecarbonfilterisabletoabsorbodoursuntilitssaturation. Itisneither
washablenorsuitablefortheregenerationand shouldbereplacedatleasteverytwo
months,andinthecaseof aparticularlyintensiveuseevenmoreoften.

a)Removemetalgreasefilter,
b)Putanewactivecarbon filteronthemetalgreasefilter,asitisshownonFig7.

3.3. Lightning.
Thelightingsystemconsistsof4halogenlamps
of20 Wpowereach.
Toreplace alightbulbproceedasfollows:
a) Usingaflattoolorscrewdriverpushonthering
holding thehalogenlampglass (Fig.8),catchit,and
removetotheoutside.
b) Replacethebulbusingapiece ofclothorpaperfor
thatpurpose.
c) Thenreinstalltheringandtheglass proceedingin
reverseorder.
Note:Makesure that youdonottouchthehalogen
bulbtobeinstalledwithyourbarefingers!
3.4. Reinigung
Thefollowing shallbeavoided duringnormalcleaning of thehood:
·wetclothorspongeandwaterjet,
·solventsoralcoholswhichmightdulllacqueredsurfaces,
·causticagents,particularlyinregardtocleaning stainless steelelements,
·hard,roughcloth
Itisrecommendedtousmoistclothandneutralcleaning agents.
