AML-3 RT Quick Start Guide
Stream Serial Data
The MCBH provides a serial connection for data
streaming and configuration via command line

Refer to AML-3 RT User Manual for a complete list of commands
and configurations.
1) Connect instrument to computer serial port using
the provided underwater cable. Default BAUD is
9600.
2) Apply 8-30 VDC to flying leads
3) Instrument will boot in ~10 seconds. Data will begin
to stream automatically
4) Send carriage return to halt data stream
5) Send ‘monitor’ command to stream data
6) Send ‘help’ command to list all available commands

2. Start Sailfish and navigate to Devices tab
3. Connect instrument to computer via USB-C or
MCBH connector.
● If using MCBH, select appropriate BAUD and COM port
and apply 8-30 VDC to flying leads
● Default BAUD is 9600
4. Sailfish will detect the instrument and a tile will
appear
● If a tile does not appear, select the refresh button
5. Select corresponding tile and press “Connect”
Connect via Sailfish
Sailfish provides a user-friendly means of
streaming data, configuring an instrument, and
updating firmware
● Remove the USB-C cap in dry environment only. Do not deploy instrument
without the waterproof cap fully installed.
● Instrument requires a USB 3.0+ compatible port. If USB-C connection
difficulties are encountered use a different port or an adapter.

1. Install Sailfish on a Windows PC from either:
● AMLoceanographic.com
● USB thumb drive
6. Click the gear icon to access instrument settings
● Instrument settings allow taring of the pressure sensor.
