The voltage testers AMPROBE VP-700, VP-
710, VP-720 are characterised by the follow-
ing features:
• Constructed in accordance with EN
61243-3, DIN VDE 0682-401
• Connectable load (load tester)
• DC and AC voltage test up to 690 V
• Bright LED display
• Two-pole determination of rotary field
direction
• Digital LC display (VP-720 only)
• Single-pole phase test (VP-710, VP-720
only)
• Continuity test (VP-710, VP-720 only)
• The integrated vibration function is
activated from approx. 150 V if both
pushbuttons are pressed simultaneous-
ly. (VP-720 only)
• Measurement point Illumination by
white LED (VP-710, VP-720 only)
• Fixed text probe cover eliminates the
risk of injury (BGV 1, § 35, Transporting
Tools)
• IP 64 (DIN VDE 0470, Part 1, EN 60529)
• No batteries required (VP-700 only)
After unpacking, check that the instrument
is undamaged. The product package com-
prises:
1 voltage tester VP-700, VP-710 or VP-720
2 batteries 1.5V, IEC LR03
(VP-710 and VP-720 only)
1 set of operating instructions
2 test probe covers
Safety Measures
The voltage testers have been constructed
and tested in accordance with the safety
regulations for voltage testers and have left
the factory in a safe and perfect condition.
To maintain this condition, the user must fol-
low the safety instructions in this manual.
ATTENTION
Danger of electric shock
• To avoid an electric shock, observe the
precautions when working with volt-
ages exceeding 120 V (60 V) DC or 50 V
(25 V) eff AC. In accordance with DIN
VDE these values represent the thresh-
old contact voltages (values in brackets
refer to limited ranges, e.g. in agricul-
tural areas).
• The voltage tester must not be used
with the battery compartment open
(VP-710 and VP-720 only).
• Before using the instrument, ensure
that the test lead and test instrument
are in perfect working order. Look out
e.g. for broken cables or leaking batter-
ies (if applicable).
• Hold the instrument and accessories by
the designated grip areas only, the dis-
play elements must not be covered.
Never touch the test probes.
• The test instrument may be used only
within the specified measurement
ranges and in low-voltage installations
up to 690 V.
• The test instrument may be used only in
the measuring circuit category it has
been designed for!
• Before and after use, always check that
the instrument is in perfect working
order (e.g. on a known voltage source).
