STEP 1
Turn meter on by depressing the ‘red power’
button. Attach common lead wire from capacitor meter
to common(center terminal) of capacitor.

STEP 2
Attach yellow lead of the capacitor meter to
the 5mfd (white terminal). The reading on the meter will
show approximately 5.0mfd (left hand side).

STEP 3
Attach a “jumper” wire from the 5mfd to the
2.5mfd (green terminal). The reading will now show
approximately 7.5mfd. You have now created the
necessary “fan” capacitor.

Attach the red lead of the capacitor meter to
the 10mfd terminal (red). It will show approximately
10mfd on the screen (right hand side).

Attach a “jumper” wire from the 10mfd
terminal to the 20mfd terminal (yellow). You will now
see approximately 30mfd on the capacitance meter.

wired using a TURBO200®UNIVERSAL REPLACEMENT CAPACITOR
NOTES: Do not test the capacitor when it is connected to a live circuit. In addition, be sure to discharge the capacitor before testing it with the meter.

How to measure the capacitance of the TES5 –
AMRAD’S UNIVERSAL TURBO®EASY-START

b) Attach the Black wire (com) from the meter to
the center black terminal of the TES5
c) Attach the Red wire from the meter to the WHITE
terminal of the TES5*
d) A capacitance reading of 108mfd to 130mfd will
appear in the RIGHT SCREEN of the meter

b) Attach the Black wire (com) from the meter to
the center black terminal of the TES5
c) Attach the Red wire from the meter to the WHITE
terminal of the TES5*
d) Using colored jumper wire supplied–connect the
PURPLE, YELLOW and RED terminals together
e) A capacitance reading of 233mfd to 280mfd will
appear in the RIGHT SCREEN of the meter

e) A capacitance reading of 270mfd to 324mfd will
appear in the RIGHT SCREEN of the meter
