AMX Limited Warranty and Disclaimer
AMX Corporation warrants its products to be free of defects in material and workmanship under normal use for
three (3) years from the date of purchase from AMX Corporation, with the following exceptions:
• Electroluminescent and LCD Control Panels are warranted for three (3) years, except for the display and touch
overlay components that are warranted for a period of one (1) year.
• Disk drive mechanisms, pan/tilt heads, power supplies, MX Series products, and KC Series products are
warranted for a period of one (1) year.
• Unless otherwise specified, OEM and custom products are warranted for a period of one (1) year.
• Software is warranted for a period of ninety (90) days.
• Batteries and incandescent lamps are not covered under the warranty.
This warranty extends only to products purchased directly from AMX Corporation or an Authorized AMX Dealer.
AMX Corporation is not liable for any damages caused by its products or for the failure of its products to perform.
This includes any lost profits, lost savings, incidental damages, or consequential damages. AMX Corporation is not
liable for any claim made by a third party or by an AMX Dealer for a third party.
This limitation of liability applies whether damages are sought, or a claim is made, under this warranty or as a tort
claim (including negligence and strict product liability), a contract claim, or any other claim. This limitation of
liability cannot be waived or amended by any person. This limitation of liability will be effective even if AMX
Corporation or an authorized representative of AMX Corporation has been advised of the possibility of any such
damages. This limitation of liability, however, will not apply to claims for personal injury.
Some states do not allow a limitation of how long an implied warranty last. Some states do not allow the limitation or
exclusion of incidental or consequential damages for consumer products. In such states, the limitation or exclusion of
the Limited Warranty may not apply. This Limited Warranty gives the owner specific legal rights. The owner may
also have other rights that vary from state to state. The owner is advised to consult applicable state laws for full
determination of rights.

Package
The AMX Preview Switcher System uses the AXP-PLV PosiTrack Pilot Video Panel Camera
Controller in conjunction with the AXB-REL8 Relay Controller and the AV2SM 2 x 1
A/V Switcher.
PT10-PRV System Components
AXB-REL8 Relay Controller
The AXB-REL8 is a Relay Controller that provides remote control
for up to eight relay functions via the four-wire AXlink data bus.
AV2SM A/V Switcher
The AV2SM is a 2 x 1 A/V Switcher.
CC-AXL AXlink Connection Cable (4-pin captive-wire to 4-pin
captive-wire)
The AXlink cable is used in all configurations, and connects the
AXB-REL8 to the ABS AXlink Bus Strip.
CC-REL Relay Connection Cable (6-pin captive-wire to 6-pin
captive-wire)
CC-REL Relay Connection Cable connects the AV2SM to the
AXB-REL8.

The following example (FIG. 1) adds a 2 x 1 video preview switcher to any of the other AMX
Camera Control Systems.

This section covers the steps necessary to connect and operate a PT10-PRV 2 x 1 Video Preview
System. Before continuing, verify that you have received the correct components for your package.
Refer to the PT10-PRV System Components section on page 1 for more information.
Wiring Information for the AV2SM
Using the CC-REL connection cable
Use the CC-REL relay control cable (6-pin captive-wire to 8-pin captive-wire) to connect the
AV2SM to the AXB-REL8, as shown in FIG. 3.

Operation
Setting camera stations 1 and 2 on the AXP-PLV controller will switch the appropriate video to the
touchpanel preview screen.
Recommended Lenses for Sony PosiTrack Systems
For optimal performance AMX recommends the use of direct analog voltage controllable lenses.
These lenses allow the PT10 or PT30 full control of lens functions. If direct analog voltage control
lenses are not available the PT10 and PT30 can support lenses controlled via the camera’s RS232
port such as the double hot shoe type. The user should keep in mind that lenses of this type are
limited by the camera’s RS232 protocol. For example, variable speed lens movements are not
possible, nor are fully coordinated preset recalls.

Troubleshooting
General
! Balancing of camera/lens assembly is critical! Improper balancing can cause tilt
errors and lockup problems.
! On error detection, pan/tilt movement stops (for safety) and will not move until power is
cycled. Upon power cycle unit will attempt movement again until another error is
detected.
Lens
! The four slide switches next to the under the circular cover set the lens voltage control
mode. All Sony approved lenses are Positional Servo style lenses so all four slide
switches must all be set to the left.
! The LENS POWER switch toggles +12VDC on pin 1 of the 15 pin D sub connector. All
Sony approved lenses get power from the camera so set the LENS POWER switch to the
CAM position. If the lens gets power from the camera and you try to supply power from
the PT10, damage may occur.
! Many lenses are not connected to the 15 pin lens port at all and are actually controlled by
the camera, which we control via RS232. In these cases the lens control problem is
usually an RS232 communication issue between the PT10 and the camera. Check the
RS232 cable and restart the Master (AXB-EM232 or Axcent3).
Setup
With multiple camera systems the PT10 AXlink DIP switches must be set to unique values. All
AXB-PT10's are factory set to device 90 which corresponds to camera 1 on the controller.
Additional PT10's should be set sequentially.
Use the DIPSwitch.exe program to reference the correct switch settings. Power must be cycled for
changes to take effect.

Setting the RS-232 DIP Switch (S2)
If you are experiencing communication problems with the AXB-EM232, check the
communications settings for the device. The RS-232 communication parameters for this device are
set via the eight-position RS-232 DIP switch. On the AXB-EM232, the RS-232 DIP switch is
located on the front panel. Verify that this DIP switch is set to the default positions indicated in
below.
