INSTALLATION FOR UNDER-CABINET:
Step 1: Measuring
• Measure the distance between stove top and bottom of range hood. A distance of 24”
to 30” is recommended with a minimum of 30” for gas stove tops.
Step 2: Preparing the cabinet
• CAREFULLY measure and cut opening at bottom of the cabinet to fit the motor
housing of the range hood. You must also cut the back of the cabinet to be able to
install the mounting bracket hook to the wall. (See Fig # 9)
• Measure for the motor housing and mounting bracket hook (See Page 15) so that the
motor housing will fit inside the cabinet and the range hood will rest flush against the
bottom of the cabinet. Exact measurements are not provided because the thickness
of the wood of each cabinet and the straightness of each wall vary.
• Measure and cut a hole to fit the duct tube in the top of or back of cabinet (depending
on which way you will vent the duct work). (See Page 7)
• Secure the hood mounting bracket hook to the wall using the supplied screws.
(See Fig # 10)
Step 3: Installing the hood
• Attach the vent/damper to the top of the motor box using the supplied screws.
(See Fig # 2 on page 10)
• Align range hood to the hood mounting bracket hook on the wall and hook hood into
place. (See Fig # 11)
Step 4: Venting
• Connect the duct tubing to the vent/damper. Always use a rigid type metal/aluminum
duct tube, if available, to maximize airflow when connecting to provided vent/damper
(follow the building codes in your area).
Make sure that the backdraft flaps can
open to allow for maximum airflow. (See Page 7 and Fig # 12)
Step 5: Finishing installation
• Place the two grease receptacle trays in the slot at the bottom of the range hood.
(See Fig # 7 on page 11)
• To install the 2 (30”) or 3 (36”) filters (See Fig # 8 on page 11) follow the
following steps:
- Angle the filter into slots at the back of the hood.
- Push the button on handle of the filter.
- Release the handle once the filter fits into a resting position.
- Repeat to install all filters.
SAFETY WARNING: Risk of electrical shock. This range hood must be
properly grounded. Make sure this is done by a qualified electrician in
accordance with all applicable national and local electrical codes. Before
connecting wires, switch power off at service panel and lock service panel
to prevent power from being switched on accidentally.
