Preface
Purpose of this document
This document serves as a manual that enables qualified personnel to safely install,
program and maintain the appliance.
- ‘Qualified personnel’ are defined as people that can program the appliance, perform
maintenance on it and repair minor faults.
All the chapters and paragraphs are numbered. The various illustrations to which the text
refers are given in the fold-out sheets or at the back of this booklet or under the particu-
lar subjects.

The sole purpose of this appliance is to make cold drinks. The use of the appliance
for other purposes is not permitted and may be hazardous. The manufacturer cannot
be held liable for losses caused by using the appliance for purposes other than those
indicated here or by incorrect use.
Service and technical support
Please contact your dealer for information not given in this document regarding specific
adjustment, maintenance and repairs. Before contacting your dealer you should note the
following appliance details, marked with a #. You will find these details on the type plate
attached to your appliance.

Safety instructions and danger warnings
This appliance meets the mandatory safety regulations.
Inexpert use can result in personal injury and material damage.
The following warnings and safety instructions must be observed before using the appli-
ance.
Instructions for use
Read these instructions for use carefully, before using this appliance. This will protect
your safety and prevent damage being caused to the appliance. Perform the various acti-
ons in the order given. Always keep this manual close to the appliance.
Installation
• Place the appliance at buffet height and on a firm, level base, in such a way that it can
be connected to the water and power supply.
• Connect the appliance to an earthed wall socket.
• Position the appliance in such a way that no damage can be caused if it leaks.
• Do not tilt the appliance, always position and move the appliance upright.
• Water always remains in the cooling system: for this reason the appliance must
not be placed in an area where the temperature can fall below freezing point.
• When installing the appliance, always observe the local rules and use approved
materials and parts.
• The ‘Installation’ chapter must again be followed when repositioning the appliance.
• Connect the appliance to the cold water mains.
Usage
• Inspect the appliance before using it and check it for damage.
• Never submerge or spray the appliance.
• Do not press the buttons with a sharp object.
• Protect the controls against dirt and grease.
• It is advisable to take the plug out of the socket and close the water tap if the
appliance is not going to be used for longer periods of time.
Maintenance and troubleshooting
1. Delayed maintenance of the cooling system can lead to high repair costs and void any
warranty claims.
2. ATTENTION! The cooler must be disconnected from the power supply during
maintenance.
3. Stay with the device during maintenance work.
4. All repairs must be performed by a trained and authorized service technician.
5. ATTENTION! The air-cooled condenser should be cleaned approximately every
2 months, depending on the degree of contamination. This can be done with
compressed air or with a soft brush and/or vacuum cleaner. Do not damage the
aluminum fins.
6. Use a slightly wet cloth to clean the sheet metal of the cooler.
7. ATTENTION! If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer, a service department or an authorized and qualified person”. When
ordering parts: the model and serial number of the cooler should be mentioned.
8. If the safety instructions are not followed, the manufacturer cannot be held responsible
for any damage that may result.

Safeguards
The appliance is fitted with the following safeguards:
On/off switch (fig. 1-3)
The on/off switch is used to switch the appliance on and off. Remember that the applian-
ce can still be activated after switching it off! For this reason you should always remove
the plug from the socket to render the appliance voltage-free.

Appliances and the environment
The packing material
Your new acquisition has been carefully packaged to protect it against damage.
The packing is not harmful to the environment and consists of the following materials:
• Corrugated cardboard
• Filler elements made of polyurethane foam <PUR> covered with a
polythene film (>PE-HD<).
The waste processing plant in your municipality will be pleased to inform you where
you can dispose of the materials.
Discarding the appliance
No appliance lasts forever. When the time comes to discard your appliance it will usually
be possible to return it to your dealer. If this is not the case, ask your municipal coun-
cil about the alternatives for recycling the materials. All plastic parts have been given
standard codes. The parts of the appliance forms electrical and electronic waste. The
metal body is made of stainless steel and can be completely dismantled.

1. GENERAL
With the Animo OptiCool you can enjoy fresh, pure and cold water (4˚C) at every
moment of the day. The OptiCool is a water cooler which you can easily connect to the
water system. Therefore you will never run out of water. Because the OptiCool is equip-
ped with a direct cooling system, negative influences from the outside will not affect the
temperature of the water. By the use of a water filter funny tastes, if any, will be removed
and the flavour of water will be even more optimal. The OptiCool also means no more lif-
ting of heavy bottles and no need to keep bottles in stock, which will save you costs and
space.

3. INSTALLATION
3.1 Unpacking
The machine has been carefully packed to prevent damage being caused to your new
appliance. Remove the packing carefully without using sharp objects. To protect the
stainless steel-parts and the blue photographic display from scratches these surfaces are
temporary protected by a foil. This foil must be removed during installation.
The appliance is delivered with the following accessories:

Please contact your dealer in case parts are missing or damaged.
WARNING
• Always remove the plug from the socket if the machine has to be opened for repair or
maintenance.
• Use this application only in rooms where a temperature between 12°C en 32°C is
quaranteed.
• Always plug the machine into an earthed wall socket.
• Do not submerge or spray the machine.
• Have all repairs carried out by a specially trained technician.
• In case the machine will not be used for a relatively long period of time, it is advisable to
remove the plug from the socket and to close the water drain.
This appliance may only be positioned and connected by a qualified service engineer.
The following rules must be observed:
• only suitable for indoor use
• not suitable for use in humid areas
• not suitable for areas with explosion hazard

3.2 Positioning
• Only install this application in rooms where a temperature between 12°C en 32°C is
guaranteed
• Place the machine at buffet height on a firm, level base that can withstand the
weight of the machine when filled.
• Make sure that the appliance is level and placed somewhere where it will not cause
damage
• Keep at least 7 cm of space between the machine and a possible wall. This is
nessassary for a good absorption and ventilation of air
• The water supply line and the power connection must be within half a metre of
where the machine is positioned
IMPORTANT!
Before using the machine after installing it has to stay in level for a minimum of
one hour.
3.2.1 Drip tray drain
The overflow hose of the machine empties into the
drip tray. It is possible to fit a drain hose to the drip
tray. Drill a drain hole in the back and fit the drain
hose in accordance with fig. 3. Ø 13mm

3.2.2 Water treatment (fig. 4)
You are strongly advised to use a water filter if the water contains
too much chlorine. This enhances the quality of the drink.

3.2.3 Stand-alone pump set (fig. 5)
If there is no water connection available, it can be
supplied with an optional stand-alone pump set

3.2.4 Base cabinet (fig. 6)
An optional accessory is the base cabinet. The base
cabinet is constructed in such a way that it can hold
the stand-alone set and a water filter on the back.

4. FIRST TIME USE AND NORMAL USE
1. Connect one side of the water supply hose on the back of the machine (fig. 1-4) and
the other side to a manually operated water stop valve.
2. Put the plug in the wall socket and switch the machine on by turning the main switch
in the on position (fig. 1-3)
3. The blue signal light at the front side of the machine (fig. 1-1) will light up to indicate
that the machine is activated.
4. Open the manually operated water stop valve and make sure that the swivel connecti-
ons are not leaking.
Because of the cooling-down process it will last up to 9 minutes until the machine will be
ready to use.
Draw off an amount of water (4 cups) when the machine is used for the first time or after
a long period of being out of use.
Use:
By pushing and holding the button pressed on the front side of the machine (fig 1-2) a
corresponding amount of water will be drawn off (push & hold –principle).
• Protect the controls against dirt and grease.
• From a hygienic point of view it is advisable never to get in contact with the outlet.
• It is advisable to take the plug out of the socket and close the water tap if the
appliance is not going to be used for a longer period of time.

5. MAINTENANCE
5.1 Drip tray
The drip tray will catch any drips from
the outlet. As the drip tray comes into
direct contact with the drink and the
cup, it must be maintained thoroughly
and in time.
The drip tray comprises (fig. 7-2):
• drip tray
• grid
Dismantling (fig. 7)
1. Take the drip tray out by pulling it
directly forward.
2. Remove the grid
3. Empty the drip tray
4. Clean the drip tray and grid accor-
ding to the maintenance instructions
below and replace the drip tray and
grid.
Maintenance
Daily empty and rinse the drip tray,
clean the drip tray and grid with a damp cloth.
Weekly wash the drip tray and grid in
hot water.
Housing
• Clean and dry the stainless steel outer casing with a clean, damp cloth
• Do not use a scouring agent as this may cause scratching and dull areas. Do not use
chlorine or cleaning agents containing chlorine, the stainless steel is not resistant to
these substances.
5.2 Dosing outlet
Clean the dosing outlet weekly with a disinfecting cleaning liquid.

6. TRANSPORT
Before taking the appliance out of operation the following actions must be carried out:
1. Switch off the appliance (fig. 1.3) and pull the plug out of the wall socket.
2. Close the water supply tap and disconnect the water connection.
3. The appliance is now ready for transport.
4. The instructions given in chapter 3. ‘Installation’ must be followed if the machine is
reinstalled
