The TPQ-1200 goes be ond the kilowatt range of standard power suppl units (PSUs) to power the largest servers
and video workstations. It includes six rails of +12V output to deliver safe and reliable power to our s stem, and
enough power and cables available to run three or more separate high-end graphics cards simultaneousl .
S TANDARDS AND F EATURES
The TruePower Quattro series is compatible with ATX12V v2.3 and EPS12V v2.91 specifications. The TPQ-1200 PSU
features Universal Input, which automaticall senses when ou connect the power suppl to an AC power source
between 100~240V without having to worr about setting a voltage switch, and Active Power Factor Correction
(Active PFC), which improves the power factor value of the power suppl b altering the input current wave shape,
thus helping transmission across the power grid.
C ONTINUOUS P OWER O UTPUT R ATING
Unlike other power supplies that are rated b their peak wattage, Antec power supplies are rated based on their
continuous power output. This means that our TPQ-1200 delivers 1200-watt power during normal, continuous
operation; not simpl at its peak
S YSTEM P ROTECTION
The TPQ-1200 also includes a variet of industrial-grade protective circuitr : OCP (Over Current Protection), OVP
(Over Voltage Protection), UVP (Under Voltage Protection), and SCP (Short Circuit Protection). Sometimes the PSU
will “latch” into a protected state. This means that ou will need to clear the fault and turn the power off to the
PSU before it will function again. There are no user-replaceable fuses in our TPQ-1200.
80 PLUS® S ILVER C ERTIFICATION
80 PLUS® certification is the most widel recognized independent standard in power suppl efficienc . An 80
PLUS® certified power suppl uses less energ and generates less heat to sta cooler, run quieter and last longer.
The TPQ-1200 earns the rare 80 PLUS® Silver level of efficienc , meaning that it has been certified to be at least
85% efficient at a wide range of operating loads; this will lower our operating costs and help protect the
environment.

Antec’s TruePower Quattro power supplies are NVIDIA™ SLI™-Read certified for use with multiple high-end
graphics cards for superior parallel graphics processing.
A DVANCED H YBRID C ABLE M ANAGEMENT S YSTEM
The TPQ-1200 uses Advanced H brid Cable Management. Cables that are important or mandator are connected
directl to the PSU. There are also modular connectors on the back of the PSU to add additional cables as needed.
Using onl the power cables ou need will reduce clutter and improve airflow inside our case. For the list of
connected and optional cables, see Table 3.
DC TO DC C ONVERSION
The TPQ-1200 uses DC to DC conversion for the +5V and +3.3V rails. This module operates at 85% efficienc , as
opposed to traditional magnetic amplifiers that operate at onl 75% efficienc . Transient response time is almost
100 times faster, providing remarkabl stable power output in response to changing loads.
P ULSE W IDTH M ODULATION (PWM) F AN
Pulse Width Modulation technolog allows the TPQ-1200 to finel control the speed of the PSU’s fan. B using this
method instead of the traditional voltage-controlled fans, this PSU’s fan can run up to 50% quieter than standard
fans. A PWM fan can run as slow as 10-15% of the fan’s rated top speed, whereas a voltage regulated fan can onl
go as low as 40%.
+12 V OLT R AIL D ISTRIBUTION
The TPQ-1200 uses six separate +12 volt power rails. The engineers have allocated the rails to different connectors
to prevent voltage sags in one device due to sudden demands for power b another device.

I NSTALLATION :
1. Install the TPQ-1200 PSU into our case with the four screws provided.
2. Connect the 24-pin main power connector to our motherboard.
3. Connect the 8-pin or 4-pin ATX12V connector for the CPU to the appropriate connector on our
motherboard. If our motherboard has an 8-pin socket with a cover on some of the openings, we
recommend that ou remove the cover and use the 8-pin connector.
Note: Please also refer to our motherboard user’s manual for an special instructions.
4. Connect the cables from the cable pack to the socket on the power suppl as needed. If ou are going to
plug the additional PCI-E cable into the PSU, it should go into the red socket. If the red socket is not being
used for PCI-E, then it can be used for another cable from the pack that accompanies the PSU.

5. Connect the AC power cord to the power suppl AC inlet. Please be sure to use the heav -dut cord
supplied with our TPQ-1200.
