Determining the firmware version for the AT-D868UV and AT-D878UV
Are you trying to find out which version of firmware is inside your
radio? This application note will tell you how to determine the
firmware version of the radio and the display.
Turn on the power to the radio and you should see a screen like this.
Note the green buttons and the circular button.

Start by pressing the green (Menu) key. You should get the following
screen:

Press the circular key multiple times to scroll until you get the following
screen:
If you scroll down, you get the screen shown above. If you scroll up,
then the Settings selection would be on the top of the screen and the
screen will look slightly different.

Press green (Select) key once and you get the following screen:

Press the circular key multiple times to scroll until you get the following
screen:
You can scroll up or down to get the above screen.

Press green (Select) key once and you get the following screen:
The Radio ID and Radio Name is based on the code plug that was in the
radio at that time. Yours will be different

Press the circular key down until you see the following screen. You
radio might have a different frequency range. Notice for this radio the
firmware version is 2.29_beta. Yours will probably be different.
While scrolling in this screen, you can get the following parameters:
Radio ID
Radio Name
Model Name
Frequency Range
Firmware Version
Hardware Version
Radio Data Version
