ground, or near ditches or fences.
• Do not transport the equipment with fence posts
in the bin.
• Make sure the slow-moving vehicle emblem
and all the lights and reectors required by local
authories are in place, are clean, and can be
seen by all trac.
• Do not allow riders on the equipment or towing
vehicle during transport.
• Keep away from overhead and buried power lines
/ gas lines. Arcing and possible electrocuon can
occur without direct contact.
• Ensure that res are inated to the
manufacturer’s recommended pressure.
• Before transporng, posion the hammer into the
fully retracted posion.
• Consult local ulity companies before operang
equipment near overhead or buried power lines /
gas lines.
• Review the work safety area diagram (Figure 2.2)
before transporng.
2.3 OPERATION SAFETY
• Have another person nearby who
can shut down the equipment in
case of accident.
• Keep body, hair, and clothing
away from moving parts. Engine
is hot during operaon. Maintain
a safe distance from the exhaust.
• Ensure that your hands are clear
of the hugger. Do not hold post
in place while trying to adjust
equipment posion.
• Review the work safety area
diagram (Figure 2.2) before using
this equipment.
2.4 MAINTENANCE SAFETY
• Before starng the engine, make sure all hydraulic components are secure, hoses are in good condion, and
couplings are ghtly connected and undamaged.
• When servicing or disconnecng the unit from the tractor lower mast to transport posion and turn o the
engine. This will relieve pressure from hydraulic circuit.
• Place stands or blocks under the frame or use wheel chocks before working beneath the equipment.
• Remove all tools and unused parts from equipment before operaon.
• Remove buildup of grease, oil, and debris.
WARNING
Hydraulic uid can cause serious injury if it penetrates the
skin. If it does, see a doctor immediately.
WARNING
Place all hydraulic controls in neutral and turn o the engine
before disconnecng or working on the hydraulic system. This
will relieve system pressure.
