INTRODUCTIONINTRODUCTION
INTRODUCTIONINTRODUCTION
INTRODUCTION
The Wheel Offset Disc Harrow, model GCRO, was specially developed for large
areas. It is ideal for primary tillage or leveling after that, preparing any kind of soil,
with excellent application in the soil tillage for annual and perennial crops.
The heavy-duty and appropriate structure dimensional, is made of bent steel
plates joined by a good penetration and fine-finishing work welding process, with
tough parts in the load concentrations.
This harrow transportation is made through an efficient wheelwork system formed
by four 11L-15 tires, with high flotation and low compaction, speeding the maneuvers
of borders and the transportation for long distances.
This Manual contains the necessary information for the best disc harrow
performance. The operator must read with attention the whole manual before
operating for the first time and be aware of the safety recommendations.
To obtain any information, or in the eventuality of technical problems, consult
the dealer, as well as Marchesan's customer service, that will guarantee the disc
harrow full operation.

Operation Safety
- ONLY WITH A COMPLETE CO-OPERATION OF IMPLEMENT OPERATOR THE
ACCIDENTS CAN BE PREVENTED.
- THIS SYMBOL IS A WARNING DEVICE WHICH SHOULD BE KEPT IN PLACE,
CLEAN AND VISIBLE, WHEN TRANSPORTING THE IMPLEMENT DURING THE
DAY OR NIGHT. USE ACESSORY LIGHTS AND OTHER DEVICES IN ORDER TO
GIVE ADEQUATE WARNING TO OPERATORS OF OTHER VEHICLES
The TATU Disc Harrows are easy to operate, therefore some basic and
indispensable cares are required on their handling.
Have always in mind that safety requires constant attention, observation and
prudence during the operation, transport, maintenance and storage of the machine.
Dear User !
Respect the Ecology.
Do not throw the trash away.
This gesture of goodwill helps to
protect our Environment.
Do not spill combustible oil, battery and
filter residues in the soil. These trashes in
contact with the soil reach the sub layer
which directly damage to the
Environment. Look for information to
delivery these contaminated elements to
whom knows to recycle or re-use them.
Be Careful with the environment
Read and
understand the
information
before realizing
adjustments and
maintenance.

TO THE OPERATOR
Never use your
hands to check
hydraulic leaks.
Escaping hydraulic
oil under pressure
may have sufficient
force to penetrate
the skin causing
personal injury.
Be careful when
moving around
steep graders to
avoid overturn..
Be careful with the
use of fertilizer or
chemicals.
These products in
contact with skin
may cause
personal injury to
the body.
Never attempt to
change the
adjustments, clean
or lubricate the
implement when in
movement.
Keep the
entrances and
places acessible to
work, clean and
free of the oil and
grease to prevent
accidents.
Never transport
the implement on
rough roads during
the night. When
operating, avoid to
make sharp turns
that may cause tire
to make contact
with the implement.
Never allow riders
on the tractor or
implement unless
an additional seat
is available.
Use extreme
caution when
circulating with the
implement under
electrical power
lines, any contact
may result in severe
shock, injury or
death.
In order to protect
yourself always
wear adequate
clothes and shoes
during the
operations.
Always use the
cylinder transport
locks when
transporting the
implements.

TO THE OPERATOR
- During the operation or transport do not allow riders on the tractor or harrow.
Serious personal injuries may result from falling in the path of harrow while in
operation or transport.
- Never allow children playing near or over the harrow, even on operation,
transportation or storing.
- Get a full knowledge of the area before starting the field operation. Delimit
the danger places or the obstacles.
- Work and transport with suitable speed according to the local conditions.
- Use individual equipments for your own protection.
- Wear clothes and adequate shoes. Avoid large or loosen clothes that may
twine on the movable parts.
- Be careful when hitching the harrow to the tractor. Hands or fingers may be
injured when caught between the hitch and the tractor.
- Wear protection gloves when working near the discs.
- When putting the harrow in transport position observe if there aren't people
or animals around.
- Never attempt to change the regulation, clean or lubricate the harrow
when in movement.
- Shut the tractor off before leaving the tractor's seat.
- Only operate the harrow with tractor of appropriate power.
- Verify attentively the transport width in narrow places.
- When disconnecting the disc harrow move it to a level area; preferably a
hard surface, on the field or at the warehouse.
- See the general instructions for safety on the back-cover of this manual.
When Transporting the Implement on Truck or Trailer
To transport the equipment at long distances use a truck or trailer.
However, the safety instructions should be followed carefully:
- Use adequate loading dock to load and unload the equipment. Never
use a ditch bank, this practice could result in serious personal injury.
- Use a suitable hoist when lifting the equipment to the truck or trailer.
- Use chock blocks and safety chains to secure the implement to the truck
or trailer during the transport.
- After 8 to 10 km transporting, please inspect the condition of the cargo.
Repeat this procedure every 80 to 100 km. Give more attention when
transporting the implement on rough roads, steep graders and other
adverse conditions.
- Be careful with transport height, specially when passing under electrical
power lines. Any contact could result in severe shock, injury or death.
- Observe all the laws and regulations as to the height limits and cargo
width while transporting the implement on truck or trailer. If necessary,
use banners, lights and other devices in other to give adequate warning
to the drivers of other vehicles.

Initially choose a flat and clean place. Separate the parts in groups to make it
easy to pick them up and check the quantities against the packing list.
How to use the Wrenches
Wrenches (A) are used to tighten nuts of the disc gangs, one to hold the axle
nut in one side, while tighten the other onto the opposite side, avoid the axle to turn
around.
Wrench (B) is used to tighten bolts and nuts of the bearing assemblies.
Wrench (C) is used to tighten nuts that fix the disc gang carriers to the main
frame.
Wrench (D) is used to adjust both turnbuckles.
Attention: DISC BLADES ARE SHARP AND COULD CUT HANDS, FEET, ETC. WEAR GLOVES
WHEN HANDLING DISC GANGS.
Mounting the Disc Gangs
Before starting the disc gang assembly, verify the correct positioning of the
bearings an spacers according to the following pages:
