Dual Igniter 400 CardBus Card Features

Dual Igniter 400, a 1394 CardBus Card instantly connects high-speed multimedia
peripherals to notebook computer.
Dual Igniter 400 comes with powerful video editing software, capable of turning
home videos into broadcast quality productions.
HardWare and Software Requirements
Windows PC Users:
CardBus enabled PC card slot, CD-ROM and Windows 98SE or higher.
MAC Users:
PowerBook G3 Series, CardBus enabled, CD-ROM and running MacOS 8.6 or
higher.

Quick Install Guide

Installation Procedures:
Windows PC Users:
1. Insert the Dual Igniter CardBus Card into the PC Card slot on your computer, until
it is firmly seated.
2. When Dual Igniter 400 card is inserted into the PC card slot, the Windows Wizard
will recognize that new hardware has been added and it will launch the Add New
Hardware Wizard. This wizard searches for new drivers for your card. Click Next.
3. In the next dialog, make sure the Search for the best driver for your device op-
tion is selected. Click Next.
4. Windows will search for new drivers. Be sure to deactivate all the check boxes.
Click Next.
5. The Add New Hardware Wizard defaults to the updated drive. Click Next.
6. Click Next again in the dialog box that follows so Windows can install the best
driver for the card.
Note: If Windows cannot locate the software on your hard drive, it will ask you to
insert the  Windows 98SE CD-ROM. Insert the Windows 98SE CD and type the
appropriate letter for the CD-ROM drive in the  Copy files from box.
7. Windows finishes installing software for your card, Click Finish.
8. Congratulations, you are ready to use your Dual Igniter 400 CardBus Card.
Ulead VideoStudio Software Installation:
1. Insert the Apricorns Dual Igniter 400 installation CD into your CD-ROM drive.
2. Click on the Ulead VideoStudio folder, click on Setup.exe.
3. Follow the onscreen directions to complete installion. Complete user instructions
for Ulead VideoStudio are provided on the Apricorns Dual Igniter 400 installation
CD in the Document folder.

Installation Procedures:
MAC Users:
1. Insert the Dual Igniter 400 CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.
2. Double click on the FireWire_OHCI_Installer.hqx.
3. Double click on the FireWire OHCI Enabler Installer. (This is the file that you just
unzipped.) Once installed, the wizard will ask you to reboot your computer. By
rebooting, the new setting will take effect.
4. Insert the Dual Igniter 400 CardBus Card into the PC Card slot on your computer
until it is firmly seated.
5. A new FireWire PC Card icon will appear on the desktop.
Unplugging Your Dual Igniter 400 CardBus
Card
PC Users:
Click on the Windows Unplug or Eject Hardware icon in your system tray (located in
the bottom right corner of your computer screen). Click on stop Texas Instruments
OHCI IEEE 1394 Host Controller. A dialog box will appear to tell you it is safe to
remove the device. Once this appears, click OK and remove the card.
MAC Users:
1. Click on FireWire PC Card icon.
2. Drag the icon to the trash.
3. Wait until the disk icon disappears from the desktop before disconnecting the card.

1394 Connection Guidelines
Follow these guidelines for connecting your 1394 devices to the computer:
- Do not connect 1394 cables to form loops.
- Do not connect more than 63 devices at one time.
- No more than 16 cables can be directly connected to any two devices.
- Do not unplug a 1394 device while being used.
- It is recommended to connect devices that require power from 1394 directly to the
computer.

Before calling for repairs, please follow these important steps.
1. If you must return the unit, call the RMAdepartment at the phone number listed above.Apricorn will
not accept C.O.D. charges. This unit is a precision device, and care should be taken to package it
properly.
