AQUAsauna heatersareavailableinspecificationsfrom3kwto9kwand areequipped withourOC-SA
digitalcontroller.Withthisnotonlycan youcontrolthe temperatureand timeduration ofyoursauna bathbut
alsothelightof the saunaroom,alterthetemperaturedisplaybetween Centigrade and Fahrenheit; aswell as
displayingthe sauna heater sstatus.
EveryAQUAsauna heateristhoroughlytested beforeleavingthe factory.

1. Important
•Thisapplianceisintended foruseinsauna cabinswherethe contactsurfacesofwalls,benchesare
constructed fromtimbershavinglowheatabsorptioncharacteristics suchasspruce,aspen,hemlock
and cedar,densetimberssuchasoakorbeecharenotrecommended.The roofshouldbewell
insulated toreduceheat loss
•Saunacabinsshouldbeventilated withalowventbelowthe baseofthe heaterand ahigherventinan
oppositewall that will allowaconstant streamoffreshairtoflowthroughthe cabinduringuse.
•Confirmthe modelyou haveselected issuitableforyoursaunaroom, pleaserefertochart 7
•Ensurethepowersupplyissuitableforthe sauna heater
•Isolatethe powersupplybeforeinstallation
•Theinstallation position mustcomplywiththe minimumdistanceinchart7;alsoconsiderthesafety
and convenience(chart 8)
•Theminimumheight ofyoursaunaroommust be1900mm,pleasereferfig7C
•Donot install the saunaheateronthefloororinacabinet

•Theuppersupportingscrewsmustbefixed tightly,thereisa3mmgapbetween thescrewhead and

wall(referfig4A,fig4B),additionalretainingscrewsshouldbeinserted intothe roundholestoprevent
the heaterbeinglifted.
•Thesaunacontrollershouldbeinstalled onadrywall outside the saunacabin
•The controllershouldbekeptataheightofbetween 1200MM-1500MM sothatitiseasilycontrolled
and operated
•Temperaturesensorsshouldbeinstalled insauna roombutnotdirectlyabovesauna heater,theheight
shouldbe1500-1800mmfromfloor.The horizontaldistancetosauna heatershouldexceed500mm
•Ifinstalled intoapubliclocation and the advancetimeristobeused adoorinterlock mustbeinstalled.

2. Installation forsaunaheater
•Referthe installation drawingfig7A,7B,Fixscrewsand hangsaunaheateronwall and securein
placebyinsertingascrewthroughthe holeinthesecuringplatesoastopreventthe heaterfrombeing
lifted offitsmounting.
•Removethe coverpanel&connectpowersupplywire&controlcablethrough theknock-outholesto
the Terminalasperfig8and replacethe coverpanel.
3. Installation forcontroller
•Controllershouldbeinstalledon the outside drywall
•Fixascrewat1200-1500mm highon the wall outside wall ofthe sauna cabinleaving approximately
3mm protruding. Fixretainingscrewsthrough2ofthe roundholes.
•Removethe screwon thebaseofcontroller&openthecover,removethe knock outforthe control
wireentry.
•Locatethe holeofcontrolleron tothe protrudingscrew,then fixinplaceusing2furtherscrewsthrough
the holesintheback ofthe controlboxdirectlyintothe sauna cabinwall.
•Connect the wiresinaccordancewiththe drawingand ensureall connectionsaretightlyfastened.
•Replacethe coverand fasten.
4. Installation forTempsensor(fig9)
•Install thetemperaturesensoron the height between 1500-1800MM insaunaroom
•Open the coverwithascrewdriver
•Fixthe bottomofthe temperaturesensoron towall withscrew
•Replacethe cover.

The heatershouldbeguarded againstaccidentalcontactwithawooden guardsimilartothe one shownbelow
–accordingtotheposition ofthe heaterwithinthe cabinitmayneed tobeguarded on 2or3sides.
Fixthe guardinplacearoundtheheaterbydrillingscrewingaccordingly.
Itisimportantthatthetop rail oftheguardissetatleast25 mm belowtherimoftheheatersuchthatit
does notreceiveheatradiation directlyfromtheheaterrocks.
ChapterFour:Testing andoperation
1. Testing
•Aftercheckingthat thesauna heaterinstallationiscorrect, put the sauna stone inplace(notewe
recommend washingthe stonesthoroughlyinwatertoremoveanydust beforethe first use). Put the
largerstonesatthebottomandsmallerstonesontop.Takecarenottopack the stonestootightlyother
wisethe airwill not beabletocirculatearoundtheelementswhichcan causeprematurefailure, but do
makesuretocoverthe elementscompletely. Notethat it willbenecessarytochangethe stonesfrom
timetotimeastheywill graduallycrumblewithuse. Forcommercialusersthisisprobablyeveryyear,
fordomesticusersonceeveryseveralyears, dependingupon use.(Fig11)

•Beforeconnectingtothe powersupplycheck the sauna heaterandmakesurethereareno flammable
itemson oraround the heater,pleasenotethaton the firstusetheelementsandstonesmaysmoke
slightlyand giveoffasmell –pleaseensurethesauna cabiniswell ventilated.
•Connecttopowersupply,press “ON/OFF “,tempand timewindowswill displaydata,LEDshowsthe
saunasheatingstatuswhen the light ison, the temperatureofsauna roomwillriseand willachievethe
preset temperature(the default settingsare70 ℃/158℉, worktimeis2hours)chart 9
•When the timehasfinished countingdownandthetimewindowdisplays “0”,thecontrollerand heater
will shut downautomatically.
•Thesaunaheaterhasasequentialheatingfunction sothatthe heatercan workeconomically.When
the heaterisfirstturned on all the elementswill worktogethertoreachthetargettemperature,when the
target isreached oneelement will beleft workingtokeepthe target temperatureconstant (forOCS30,
OCS40 ,onebankwill stop).When sauna roomtemperaturegoes2℃/ 4 ℉abovethe target
temperatureall heatelementswill stop.When the temperatureofthe sauna goesbelowthe target
temperature, one bankheatelement will workagain, when the temperaturegoes2℃/ 4 ℉belowthe
target temperature, all heat elementswill workagain.
•Light button: Turnssaunalight on/off
•Usetemperatureswitchbutton tochangethetemperaturedisplaybetween centigrade and Fahrenheit
•The Controllerhasatimingdevicesoyou can setatimewhen you wantthe heatertopowerup,this
can besetfrom0~12 hoursasshowninthe Chart9 below.When the controllerisinBModel(Timer
mode)the heatercantoperate,butwhen BModelreaches “0”orthe “ModelButton”ispressed the
heatingfunction will start (AModel).Thisisexplainedmoreat the bottomofthispage.

2. Setting timeand temperature:
•The defaultsettingsfortemperatureare:75℃/167 ℉.Forpresetoperation time:2hours. Thesecan
beadjusted easily, ifthe electricitysupplyislost the controllerwill returntodefault settings.
•When the sauna isturnedonthetimesettingswill workunderAmodel(AmodelLEDison),thetime
windowwill displaythelasttimethat wasset. Toadjustpress thetimeadjustbutton “▲” or “▼”,every
press the timewillincreaseorreduce10 minutes.When you reachthe timewant, waitand after5
secondsthe timewindowwill stopflashing, nowthe settingisconfirmed.
•Tosetyourheatertocomeon atacertaintime(forexample: ifyou plan towatchafilmand want the
sauna tostart heatinguphalfwaythroughsoitsreadyat theend ofthefilm) you canusethe Bmodel
settingwhichcan beset ifyou press the “Modelbutton”andthe timewindowwill display 4:00,now
press the “timeadjust button”(the timewill nowflash) “▲” or “▼ ”and set the amount oftimeyou want
until theheaterwill turnon waitfivesecondsand thedisplaywillstopflashingnowthe timeisconfirmed
and will startcountingdown,when itreaches “0”itwillswitchovertoAModeland theheaterwill turnon.

•Forquick timeadjustment: holdthe “▲” or “▼” and it will count continuouslyupordown, when it

doorisopenedthetimingwill stopand will not restart againuntil it isreset.

condition, payparticularattentiontoboththefastenings, the condition ofthewiringand the electricalelements.
Noteifthe rocks havestarted tocrumblethiscan causetheelementstooverheat andtheyshouldbechanged
fornewrocks.Werecommend commercialoperatorstochangethe rocks atleast oncevery12months.
