SPECIFICATIONS
OPERATING PRECAUTIONS
Thisisakerosene,direct-fired,forcedairheater.It’sintendeduse
isprimarilytemporaryheatingofbuildingsunderconstruction,
alterationorrepair.
Direct-Firedmeansthatallofthecombustionproductsenterthe
heatedspace.Eventhoughthisheateroperatesverycloseto100
percentcombustionefficiency,itstillproducessmallamounts
ofcarbonmonoxide.Carbonmonoxide(calledCO)istoxic.CO
canbuildupinaheatedspaceandfailuretoprovideadequate
ventilationcouldresultindeath.Thesymptomsofinadequate
ventilationare:
• headache
• dizziness
• burningeyesandnose
• nausea
• drymouthorsorethroat
BesuretofollowadviceaboutventilationintheSafety
Precautionssection.
ForcedAirmeansthatablowerorfanpushestheairthroughthe
heater.Propercombustiondependsuponthisairflow;therefore,
theheatermustnotberevised,modifiedoroperatedwith
partsremovedormissing.Likewise,safetysystemsmustnotbe
circumventedormodifiedinordertooperatetheheater.
Whentheheateristobeoperatedinthepresenceofotherpeople
theuserisresponsibleforproperlyacquaintingthosepresent
withthesafetyprecautionsandinstructions,andofthehazards
involved.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
1. RecommendedforusewithNo.1-Kkerosenefuel.Factorytested
forusewithNo.2-Kkerosene,No.1orNo.2Diesel,No.1orNo.2
fueloilorJP8JetAfuelandthesefuelsmaybeusedaswell.Never
usegasoline,biodiesel,oildrainedfromcrankcases,naphtha,
paintthinners,alcoholoranyotherhighlyflammablefuels.
2. Checktheheaterthoroughlyfordamage.DONOToperatea
damagedheater.
3. DONOTmodifytheheateroroperateaheaterwhichhasbeen
modifiedfromitsoriginalcondition.
4. Suitableforeitheroutdoororindoorusewhereadequate
ventilationisprovided.Neveruseinareasnormallyfor
habitation.Notforusewhereexposedtoweather.
5. Useinwellventilatedareas,provideatleast2sq.ft.(0.19
sq.m.)ofopeningnearthefloorand2sq.ft.(0.19sq.m.)
neartheceilingdirectlytooutdoors.Increaseairopeningsas
markedforeachadditionalheater.
6. Alwayskeepcombustibles,likepaperandwoodatleast8
ft.(2.4m)fromtheheateroutletand3ft.(1.0m)from
thetop,sidesandinlet.Locate10ft.(3.0m)fromcanvas
orplasticcoveringsandsecurethemtopreventflapping
movement.
7. Caution:Duetothehighsurfaceandexhausttemperatures,
adultsandchildrenmustobserveclearancestoavoidburns
orclothingignition.DoNotTouch.Keepchildren,clothing,
andcombustibleaway.
8. Installtheheatersuchthatitisnotdirectlyexposedtowater
